If everything that Democrats touch turns to shit  and everything Republicans touch turn to Gold

Explain this  (civil debate , no insults please )

Top 3 blue  states ,  bottom 3 red states ???

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/rankings

Again, it's how you measure and interpret stats. For me, I would reject the top five picks on the weather alone. Of course, I'm from Hawaii. Also, Hawaii, before the virus, had the lowest unemployment rate in the country but it was all service type jobs that don't pay well. I discount education ratings as I would never send my kids to a public school. I think all government run schools suck and have an agenda. Things like gun rights are very important to me not just because I want law abiding citizens to be able to own and arm themselves, but it shows me the attitude the State has regarding a person's right to self-defense and just where they lean regarding individual rights and respect for the constitution. It's not a coincidence that people on the Right want to open up the States and resent have so much of their freedoms being restricted.

Things like natural environment aren't as crucial to me because that's for vacation time and not day to day living. Health care is more dependant on the type of insurance you have and not what State you live in.

So there are so many factors involved that it's hard to make such a list. Again, compare this list to the one you previously posted. For me, you'd think I'd be in Texas I'm so far right, but here I am in a purely run Democratic State with a miserable infrastructure as we have sunk a fortune on a rail system at a billion dollars a mile that few are going to use, homeless people harassing others on the street and the police don't bother to do anything about but if you are walking on the beach with your girl you get cited and sometimes arrested (no joke). The tax rate and regulations are such that a business, like Trader Joe's, which many are Hawaiian themed, can afford to open up here. When a machine breaks down in the gym you have to wait about three months before you can get part replacements because we are out in the middle of the ocean. The median home prices are now at $800,000 and rent for a tiny one-bedroom apartment starts at $1,400 - $1,600

But here I am bitching on one hand but loving the sun, surf, and family on the other.

C'mon Pellius we are not talking about the weather here .

But I am. Weather to me is a very, very important consideration to take when deciding where I live and is not factored in those stats. I imagine street crime and violence would be much lower in areas that are freezing cold all the time.

My point is that there are many factors on what make a State the best place to live which is why every list seems to be different and is all over the place.

Politicians can't do much about the weather ,and  there are many cold places with  high crime rate - Chicago ,Detroit , Cleveland ........................ ..........

My question is when it comes to HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION , ECONOMY, INFRASTRUCTURE, OPPORTUNITY, FISCAL STABILITY, CRIME & CORRECTIONS, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

Why  the top 3 are  blue  states , and  the  bottom 3 are red states

We seldom agree. As a retired person with a modest income, if I had to choose between Hawaii and New Jersey (which is where I was born), Hawaii wins, hands down.

I do have one enormous question, should I show up on your doorstep asking your advice on where I might find suitable housing for a person with only a modest income, would you be an asshole and kick me in the nuts or would you be a real man and let our water flow under the bridge?

Seriously, can you and I let bygones be bygones?

First of all, don't ever lecture me on what it takes to be a real man.

This will now be the third time I will address this situation. It's hard to believe that you missed the other two as you were active on the thread. I won't repost again for the third time but give you the link.

This is the link and refer to reply 107. I don't want any association with you and I'm trying to refrain from attacking your constant barrage of asinine posts. So lets just leave it at that and go our separate ways.

I don't know because there are so many factors involved. Do you know why? Do you think giving the government more power over your life makes for a better State? Can you prove that these States are successful because of Liberal policies or in spite of Liberal policies. California is a wealthy State (or was) not because of its political climate but because of its climate specifically. Beautiful weather with beaches, lakes, and mountains that they attract the wealthy that are immune to economic policies. These studies also don't take into account cultural issues which are also very important to a person that are not taken into account. Things like tolerance for the bums littering the streets, the blurring of genders, soft on crime, the right to self-defense....

I doubt you'll find a list with those specific states on top, but I bet you could find a list where more red states are ranked higher than democratic run shitholes.

Newport Beach mayor blasts California gov's beach closure order: 'This has nothing to do with data

Newport Beach, Calif., Mayor Will O'Neill slammed Gov. Gavin Newsom Friday over his order to close beaches in Orange County. O'Neill told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that Newsom's order is politically motivated and not supported by medical data.

"Yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom closed 43 miles of Orange County beaches, not because of data, but because of politics," he said. "In our local hospital, we have 475 beds. They have never treated more than 25 people at any given time, and yesterday they had nine people that they were treating, and only one percent of their ventilators were being used."

I stopped reading when they list as the best States to live they had New Jersey at number three and Hawaii at number four. I had just read last week that Hawaii is the one of the worse States to retire in. It's expensive, homelessness is insane, the worse place to start a business because of the high taxes.

It just goes to show that it's all relative. Of course, if you have enough money, you can live pretty much anywhere well.

I grew up in MA and feel the same way about that state as you do about Hawaii.  I have only been to Maui for a few weeks at a time so I have no feel for living there.  I have traveled the country and always felt at home in NH.  No income or sales tax helps and it's very pretty with mountains and ocean near by.

Here is a 19 ranking. NH is number two.

Depends on who writes the article...

Exactly. These "state rankings" are so arbitrary. I have lived in NY, AZ, VA, SC and Ohio. Hands down NY was the worst state ever for business, education or health care. Now I live in SC. Just love it here. My house has a fantastic view of the mountains, the local hospital is so much better than the ones i used in NY and the school system turns out kids a heck of a lot smarter than the indoctrinated kids in NY.

As for some of the states listed as in the bottom- that's a lot of editorial bias showing. Been to Alabama a lot on business and it's absolutely beautiful. I go to Huntsville where the space research groups are - and some of the most advanced technology innovations in the US are happening there. Mississippi is actually undergoing a great transformation as well - but the high humidity just doesn't sit well for me. But some people like it.

i agree , but no matter what list you look at when it comes to the worst states in the US  ,Alabama, Louisiana ,  Mississippi   .......(red states) , are always on top of the list.

Lots of trailer park trash rednecks, and ghetto negros, what could go wrong?

That video was awesome.

Sums what's going on with these states perfectly Joe.

“I am very uncomfortable that we find ourselves with governors exercising broad, unchecked powers while the legislatures have recessed and the Courts aren’t convening,” Ose said. “Legislators and judges are critical parts of our governance and they need to be on the job exercising oversight and demanding transparency. Otherwise, we might as well be Venezuela.”

Got to keep the charade going until this gets done. At this point the politicians and the media no this is way overblown the same way they knew the Russian hoax was bullshit:

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/495760-obstacles-mount-for-deal-on-next-coronavirus-bill

"We're looking at the states and municipalities and counties and the assistance that we would give them, we're looking at what are your outlays for the coronavirus and what is your revenue lost because of the coronavirus," Pelosi told reporters.

Thanks Newsom for our wonderful economy in the state.  First state to go into lockdown, this idiot is still trying to hold on to his dictator powers by refusing to open more businesses but at a very slow rate to continue to cripple California, while other states are opening.

Then this comes out

California Coronavirus Update: Governor Gavin Newsom Predicts “Depression-Era” Unemployment Rates in State. California Governor Gavin Newsom delivered a sobering economic appraisal at his daily coronavirus press conference on Wednesday. After revealing an unprecedented spike in unemployment claims, he said, “You’ll see these numbers translating into unemployment rates that will be rather jaw-dropping.” Newsom called the rise in unemployment claims “without precedent in our state’s history,” noting that 4.2 million people have now applied for Public Unemployment Assistance and $10.6 billion in aid has already been distributed.

You know, maybe if you let the people work, and let businessess open via safe guidelines instead of trying to block everything, we can prevent this, but it seems that the California governor really wants to continue to hurt small business in California and more.  Stop delaying!!! Your political agenda is not worth 4.2 million+ unemployment and more.  Let the cities, and counties decide to open up, not you! How many more lawsuits do you need!

You’re being naive if you think he’s calling the shots. He’s getting his marching orders from Washington and his aunt Nancy.

Apparently they’re giddy about the economy tanking as they think it will hurt Trump and the Republicans in November.
