Getting screwed over at the Master's could end up being the best thing that could happen to Rusty. He has basically quadrupled his fan base in the past week.

This is an interesting idea. I think I might donate the 20 if the we get verification that Jeffers will compete. I agree with you - who wants to see the same pros over and over again? Jeffers adds a whole new element.

Let's say a pledge of $25 apiece is made by 30 individuals. Rusty then books both his flight and hotel room on the expectation of receiving $750 (less Paypal fees) in fan sponsorship. Then, for whatever reason, Paypal decides to freeze the account.

For those who are unaware, when this happens - and it happens quite often - Paypal does *not* automatically return the funds to the senders. It usually takes a few weeks to resolve issues on frozen accounts, but it can take months. The only remedy is to have paid by credit card, as you can then reverse the charge on your credit card and stick them with a chargeback.

If something like this should happen (a possibility you have to take into consideration), then who would be liable for honoring the $750 pledge to Rusty?

How about this
240 is pushing this campaign so Rob fronts all the money. That way Rusty has a guarantee income for the show/hotel/etc and then Getbiggers who support this, send the money to paypal and 240 can recoup his expenses from this. Any extra income gets donated to charity.

man I use paypal all the time and never had any problems...

get rusty to set up an account so the cash goes straight to him.

the guy deserves another stage showing this year and he should have won some prize money in NY to finance it...

I have never had any problems either with Paypal. I don't think Rusty needs to worry about the money coming in or not. what is he going to do if Getbig comes up short? Besides this is an outside distraction that he really doesn't need. I guess this a call to Rob to put his money where his mouth is.

Did you read the original post, dear? I said we'd get Ron and Rusty to agree upon a number that would work and Rusty would agree formally. If the donations didn't add up to enough, and Rusty chose not to enter, we'd use the paypal refund option and everyone gets their dough back. Is the concept too confusing for you?

Also, PayPal and schmoe sites clash bigtime. Anytime you show skin and border on sex sites, paypal can often freeze it. What some FBBs consider fitness & art, the PayPal board considers smut/offensive.

Rusty being in the show would be the news story of the week. As much as you've worked to hype the show- and it's a good show- the big news story right now is not the upcomoing COlo Pro.

And if you feel that Rusty being in the show would not generate revenue in excess of that plane ticket, you're extremely offbase and Shawn should reconsider his choice in who he goes to for advice. I could swing $2k in ad revenue for Shawn TODAY with a quick launch of the Rusty Statement Show- Letting the physiques do the talking at the Colorado Pro. Pit Rusty against Bob Chick in a rematch. You're insane to think that tickets wouldn't sell like crazy. Even if they ended up 4th and 5th. RUSTY is big news right now. Whether you want to admit it or not.

I know you're tied into the whole muscle beauty/respect thing, but I am in tune with the heartbeat of the fans, LIFT. Whether they agree or disagree- they respond emotionally. And that is where your ticket sales and web ad revenue is generated.

But what do I know?

A guy who whacked it on film and placed 8th at a Masters show because of it (it wasn't even the Masters O) is big news???

I know they done him wrong but please a little perspective girls and boys.

Chick should compete in the show too. Chick Vs. Rusty round 2. It would be the talk of the boards for months. If he really wants to silence the critics - that's the way to do it. I doubt he'd take the risk though.
