Prime is an elder and his perspective is invaluable. The biggest mistake a person can make is to ignore the generations who came before. As a nation this is common. Old people drive too slowly and theyre old so who cares about them and what they think right? Try living with a retired aerospace engineer who spent his career protecting this country from the rest of the world. In the beginning i knew everything. Now i realize i know almost nothing. Technology is not the equalizer you think it is. Just because our generation invented ipods and electric cars and supercomputers does not invalidate the opinions of decades past.
In short, you do not have to agree with everything primemuscle thinks, but if you disagree with him, thats your problem. You will see, in time, that he is almost always right. As you will be, one day.
You're lucky to have someone who devoted himself to a career that has such an important impact on our freedom. A lot of what I believe, I learned from a very wise person....my stepdad. Sometimes when something important and possibly life changing comes my way, I hear an indelible tape of his voice of reason playing in my mind and a wave of calm comforts me.
One other thing, not all us geezers drive slowly. I am amazed that I've managed to maintain an almost flawless driving record. Having said this, the last ticket I got a few years ago was for speeding....think of that.
Maybe next year I'll start driving within the speed limit or maybe not. One problem is that my "zoom, zoom" Mazda goes zero to 60 in record time and with all wheel drive, even the speed bumps on my street don't slow me down.
