These idiot bodybuilders aren't nearly as strong as people think. I would be surprised if he did 405 on flat bench.

I agree. Flex is starting to push the barriers as far as weight goes. What's next, Ronnie inclining 6 plates? :-[

yea theres a pic of mark doing  495 incline bb press. in the Flex with  Dennis Wolf on the cover. also in the meg with Kris Dim incline 495. have you guys seen how strong mark is?? he can sqaut  675lbs.  he does that Dorian Yates style. I read alot of articles that Mark  aims to push the heavy stuff 'I go too heavy and errrrrrr throught it then going too light"

Eh.....

I thought you commented that you'd see CQ's pics?

Nevermind then.  I've seen alot of Laura's body.  She's not bad, considering she's had kids.  Too tan though....

Maybe memory doesn't serve too well but I seem to recall an episode of some bodybuilding show maybe on ESPN some years back where Mike Matarazzo (sp?) said he did lying tricep extensions up to 300 pounds (Ezi bar inclusive).

Cormier probably didn't really say that.  In one of his videos he's pissed when he reads what he supposedly "wrote" in his MD column, and he says he's never written it.  None of those guys "write" any of those.  MD just makes up crap to be "shocking."  Do you honestly think Cormier sits down at his computer and types out a column every month?   ::)   No one can even find him to talk to him for most of the year.

yeah for sure dipshit.....Lee Priest doesn't write any of his columns either.....why don't you PM him and ask him?  The thing is, his columns tend to sound a lot like his posts on here--direct, to the point, no bullshit.  Lee Priest has sold out to nobody so far as I can tell, that's one column you can mark in the books as legit.

that's because everyone in flex inclines 495. they also all shoulder press 405, squat and deadlift 675, and curl with at least 2 45s on the bar. oh and lets not forget ronnie squatting 855 without so much as knee wraps when in cost of redemption he had wraps and a squat suit for 800.  ::)

i love how people are acting like the weights in the picture are real. it's so damn easy to see that they aren't. just look at the plates, some of them are obviously fake. they put on 135 or 225 so the guy struggles enough for the picture and then they load wood plates to make it look bigger.

what proof do you have mark squats 675? a picture in a magazine? same magazine that said erik bui was squatting 700 raw under 200 pounds?

Dead on.  Like I said before, that's the type of training Dugdale subscribes to---a combination of what Yates did and the teachings of Mentzer.  This guy DOES NOT AIM FOR REPS IN HIS TRAINING.  Coleman has been known to go to 15 reps during his workouts.  Obviously he's not going to be using the same weight.

To be honest, I would prefer that they portray professionals lifting too much weight as opposed to too little. There are some old Ronnie Coleman photoshoots where they have him curling 40lb dumbbells and 30lb side laterals.  ::)

My personal favorite:
Jason Marcovici (who?), IFBB pro with a torn biceps muscle, curling 315lbs in a Cell-Tech advertisement.

I'm pretty sure the Bui segment was legitimate. It was similar to the recent Coleman and Cutler articles Flex has run: black and white photos in their normal gym setting during a real training session. If Bui's plates were fake, then they must have been made exclusively for that shoot, and the bar is bending so I don't know how I would account for that either. The fake shots are pretty easy to spot because they all look to be shot in Fullerton and they have the pros dress in that ridiculous name-brand, brightly colored workout gear, not their usual threads.

You are 100% correct.

^Less photospreads of fitness chicks during competition, more layouts of them off-season sans tan.

When you do this, the world will be a better place.

I agree about the weights in Flex. They surely have to use fakes a lot of the time. But remember a few years ago when Jean Pier Fux tore both quads during a photoshoot for flex. They published those pics and there was nothing fake about them.I don't remember how much weight he had on the bar but I can't see that being faked.

^That incident is why they use fake weights now.

It stained the bodybuilding world forever....

People are still scared of that.

He still hasn't recovered........even with the AAS.

The damage that did is something that will stay with him 'till his dying day.

A couple months ago Art Atwood had a feature in flex about "Fear-Factor Partials" and he had 6 or 7 plates on incline.

it was 6 plates on each side and it was featured in the july issue of Flex

Not true.

Very True.

You are one of the photogs, so what else are you going to say?

What you say doesn't matter much being that you are biased.

Remember, it was the photographers who stood there taking shots of the shit while he was getting crushed.

Those are your people......

Yeah i agree its unlikely that someone that light cud bench that but its not impossible i mean some power lifter with a lot less bulk press more than that everyones got there strong point and he does have a good chest. I think he carrys quite a bit of muscle he just has a really small frame to hang it on.

I'm not saying its real just that its worth concidering rather than being so sceptical

Didn't the same happen to Orville Burke about a month after this inccedent? If I remeber righty he was doing a tricep workout photo shoot and tore the tendon, then while undergoing the op to re-attach it he slipped into a coma :(
