I think he said later that he forgave them, and it bugged me.
I remember reading about the defense arguing that the video didn't
really show what happened and that the assailants were victims of racism.
I don't care if Reginald Denny forgave them - more power to him if he did. I do care that those assholes didn't get punished with the maximum charges and that there was a hung jury in a basically cut-and-dried case. That was a disgrace. The people that attacked Denny ought to have spent the rest of their lives in jail.
The other disgraceful thing was all the people who sat by idly and did nothing to help him either during the attack or after, when he lay on the road unconscious. He actually had to drag himself back into the can and drive himself out before someone came to his aide.
It makes me angry just thinking about this.
