Obviously in the moment they were not a factor. Do you think the reported 4 youths responsible for this are blame free because of their lives of desperation or that the community should search for them and deliver justice?

People are are starting to wonder. You claim a broken leg, a pistol whipping, etc.... and there's no facial swelling, no leg brace, cast, crutches, etc....? Plus the fakeness of the blood. Perhaps no ring camera video of the ne'er-do-wells either?

This is fishy. Neighbors are saying that there were kids with guns casing cars, so perhaps something happened.

Chance to make political hay? Chance to pressure the police to respond to your personal crime? Chance to help the party by claims of a new "tougher on crime" stance? Probably all three.   

Anyway, car jackings are a chance you take when you imported and resettle feral pirates.
