Not surprised. Mommy syndrome, feminism, gynocentrism, family court/divorce industry and a female dictatorship will do that.

And simps signed up for all of it, ruining things for normal men. Thanks! 👍

Just like drug abuse, morbid obesity, as a financial drain and a statistical lead weight, is a problem that solves itself.

We are not all in this together.

Brutal, true, righteous, and funny.

People are just fat and lazy here.  Obese people are everywhere. People that can use to lose 20lbs are viewed as normal weight. Go to Italy or Spain. It's hard to find a fat person except for American tourists. Even Manhattan where it's a non driving culture have lean people all over the place because they walk.  Most Manhattan people are thin compared to elsewhere.

I agree with others that it's not lacking healthcare. It's not keeping in shape.  Doctor Cooper is a pioneer of pointing out that staying in shape prevents so many medical issues.  Just look at what staying in shape can do. It can keep blood sugar under control.  Most adult diabetics get rid of the disease just by getting lean. Exercise increases HDL ratios of blood lipids which is is healthy.  Exercise lowers blood fats as in triglycerides. Lowers your blood pressure. Makes your bones stronger. Increases the strength of your heart muscle as shown in a lower resting heart rate showing it's stronger. Lowering body fat especially visceral fat can lower metabolic diseases.  Much has been written how exercise has been beneficial to brain health and mood.

No one can prevent all health issues but you have to put the odds in your favor by staying in shape.

This.

Just 40% of us were overweight from 1960 to 2010.  The chubby have been with us since WWII (I'm leaving out the obesity rate).

2010 to 2020 it nearly doubled to 73%.  Throw in a novel corona virus and we see how vulnerable we've become.

I expect life expectancy to continue to drop, unless there's some kind of awakening to the harms of our sedentary lifestyles.

Lack Lalane, where are you?

I don’t believe so. Baby boomers who grew up in the 60s, abused themselves with eating,  drinking and drugs are coming to the end of the line. I suspect this trend will reverse somewhat when those of who grew up when gyms were opening up around the country reach that age.

This.

The Gen before the Boomers set the prior mortality rate and they’ve mostly moved on from the dataset.

Now we have Boomers entering the death zone 💀 where we see what trend they set for their lifestyle.

Important to note the age comes down despite a much higher quality level of care and lifestyle which means the obesity, alcohol and poor food choices overrides our medical technology.

It’ll probably end up being if you are fat, you die early and nothing can save you.

Yup, within developed affluent countries, the majority of the poorest and least educated will make the worst decisions regarding exercise and access to all that readily available food all year round.  They die from diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, etc., but they don't die from starvation.

The majority of the more affluent and educated individuals will make an effort to exercise and make better food choices than hamburgers and fries, pizza, fried chicken, and sugary drinks and snacks.

Of course, there are always exceptions to the norm:

It’s not a lack of care that causes obesity, but a lack of discipline. From my understanding, losing weight, when you’re obese causes all health markers to improve.

https://nypost.com/2023/09/22/obesity-is-on-the-rise-in-most-states-new-cdc-data/

The information shows that in 22 states in 2022 at least 35% of adults were obese — an increase from 19 states in 2021.

The CDC noted that 10 years ago, there were no states that had an adult obesity prevalence at or above 35%.

Ah yes, the global population has collectively been losing self discipline over the last 30 years.  That’s why obesity is on the rise, because billions of people just became less disciplined in a few decades, no other factors at play  :D

American Hispanics have a longer life expectancy than American whites, despite having higher obesity rates.  How do you account for that?

I left out the health benefits get cancelled out with the use of drugs like steroids, anti estrogens, HCG, speed, diuretics and growth hormone. I know the fans of bodybuilding drugs will disagree saying it's healthy to live the drug bodybuilding lifestyle.  Exercise isn't that complicated as most will have us think. Do cardio, lift, body weight, power, balance and skill. A typical bodybuilder can incorporate it all by just doing walking, lifting and something like a fast lift like a power clean.  Watch you total calorie count and you will put the odds in your favor regarding health.

It's a combination of many factors:  Access to cheap ultra-processed foods, the consumption of seed oils, the adoption of the American food pyramid by many countries, advancements in technology that make it much easier to live a sedentary lifestyle, increase in tech jobs in developing countries such as China and India, etc.

The more technologically advanced we become, the more obesity and disease will increase.

Larger families and intergenerational family ties.  I try to emulate that, because if you interreact with the kids and grandkids, it gives one hope for the future.

When we stop with the socialism. I would guess that more money gets spent in the US on obesity related illnesses than any other cause of death. If some dumbass eats his way up to 300+ pounds he ought to pay his own medical bills, not expect others to subsidize his self inflicted problems under some collectivist scheme.

To your previous point, deaths over the historical baseline in different countries are strongly correlated with vaccine uptake in those countries. Higher the % who got vaccinated, the higher the excess death in that country. It doesn't mean everyone is doomed but imo the cure is more deadly than the disease.

Yup, strong relationships have long been associated with longevity.

TBT, I had to think about this one.

Two reasons:

1. Smoking

2. Size. Small people tend to live longer and most Mexicans are midgets.

The tight family structure mentioned before sounds right too.

What are you talking about? The article doesn’t even mention the rest of the world, just the U.S.
Food availability has increased dramatically in the last 30 years. In the 1970s Walmart was a regional general store. Now it’s a Juggernaut. Do you not think you need more discipline now to stay slim than in the past?

But yeah let’s pretend it’s lack of care.😂

Wealthiest country in all of human history and we can’t even care for our own citizens.  The issue will not improve, either, as healthcare costs continue to soar and material conditions continue to worsen.  Disgraceful, if you ask me.

Clearly, the USA has peaked a long time ago, and now we are living in the long, slow decline before the inevitable collapse.

Possibly some dietary factors, home cooking, lots of fiber. Not sure though. I agree that family structures (with less loneliness?) can play a role. Maybe less sedentary jobs and more walking, moving. Live in cities more so than in suburban areas where no one walks anywhere? Less alcohol and drugs? More religion?

I’d bet he really believes it. That Socialist mentality is everywhere on the net. The worst are teachers. Apparently, it’s the most common profession among Antifa (the few who actually have jobs).

Morbid obesity has been on the rise globally for decades with no end in sight.  How and when does it solve itself?

Culture change, education, better lifestyle choices. Additional medical care will not solve this problem - no amount of pills or bariatric surgeries will fix it. Every pill and surgery has side effects. The best way to fix obesity is to fix the lifestyle that led to the obesity. 99% of the time it is from eating too much or too poorly.
