Is HCG / was HCG commonly prescribed in the US with TRT?

Yes. I use HCG 1000 IU thrice per week with 100 mg T prescribed by my doctor. It helped me have two kids and I want a third.

HCG has gotten very expensive. My shipment is arriving today.

They cracked down on the compounding pharmacies.

Yes from what I heard.  That is why they don’t issue HCG anymore.

But the TRT/HRT clinics still will prescribe everything else - HGH, some peptides, ED drugs, etc.

Whaaa?!

That is a goddamn shame. I loved HCG. I'd srsly consider HCG over TRT for youngification.

My balls. Never had. Summuchfun.

Your PCP can still write you a script for it.  Just not clinics.

so can any liquid steroid be injected sub-q? and where are you guys injecting it?

A lot can leave lumps, which are painful until the oil slowly dissolves into your system.
I just jab into the thigh... I liked sub-Q somewhat, just not the lumps...

Love handles are the sweet spot. Belly fat will leave nodules for most

Yes, don’t inject more than a .25 cc at a time, inject it over 30 sec to a min and massage for a minute afterwards.

Was there any medical reason behind this HCG rollback?

Feds shut down compounding pharmacies from making meds like HCG and natural desiccated thyroid (the places where TRT clinics get their meds from) Thank big pharma and crooked bureaucrats

Yeah, the lumps were minor, but still there. Ill try love-handles, I sort of like how I felt sub-q.
Seemed like it was always a sustained blood level...

Doesn't the long-term use with HCG with TRT cause any problems? I mean it's not like I WANT it to, just curious.

For some it seems a totally alien concept while others say definitely do HCG as well.

I don't know if it is common for balls to shrink on HRT?

Most guys I know are on 250-350 weekly prescribed which blows my mind.
If they were getting regular bloods done they wouldnt be precribed that much
After a few months on that your haemoglobin would be through the roof

Basically it came down to a lot of non regulated clinics were RXing HCG for weight loss purposes.  And it was leading to an overall shortage.

That is what I was told.

Been tolling for months now deciding at my age (just turned 59) if I should or want to go on TRT...

Primary doctor had me do a test test and the first time my number were low, low 184 (normal range is anywhere between 264/300 to 900...

He prescribed me androgel 1.62 with 2 pumps everyday... Insurance wouldn't pay for it because they said I need more than just 1 test to verify lower than norm testosterone....

So since this first test, I've tested 2 more times. Second time, my number was in the 400 plus range, the next time down to the low 300's....

Taking all 3 test tests together my average is around 320. Still in the normal range, but also on the pretty low range of "normal"...

So because i'm still in the normal range, my doctor won't prescribe it because it would too expensive out of pocket? The insurance won't pay for it...

So I guess it's a male clinic of some sort or not at all?

Oh yeah, also because i'm on Crestor 5mg for my higher than normal cholesterol (although it's not that high, no family history of heart disease/stroke, etc) I now find that this could be lowering my Testosterone. Did a recent calcium score test to check for plaque in the arteries just as a "precautionary" test (optional elective test costing 99 dollars out of pocket) and on the scales of 0-10, 11-100, 101-500, I rated a low "5"... So right now i'm at a very very low risk of heart issues....

So how to move forward with TRT or not is the question...

As I’ve said, I took and still take HCG with TRT for fertility and my doc is the former chairman of urology at a hospital.

One either does HCG monotherapy for up to 10,000 IU per week or TRT with a smaller dose of HCG.

No, it doesn’t cause problems. There is nothing in medical literature showing such for long-term HCG even with high doses.

If no family history youre probably fine. However, calcium scoring only see's "calcified plaque" which is what you want if you do have any.
It does not see soft plaque, which causes the most damage... A buddy was happy with his "zero" on his calcium score.
4 months later he had a widow-maker bypass. (soft-plaque blockage)...  Its a game....

I'm always amazed how many guys that lift weights are on TRT. If you use it for a couple of years I guess it's for life then. I can't imagine shutting down LH hormone for such a long time. Will it come back if you stop after years of TRT?

The ones who actually need it, your LH is already shut down. Kids run gear today and say they are on "TRT" you know, 500 mg's..   ::)
Sometimes it doesnt come back if they suppress it bad enough... Most of the time it comes back though... Though maybe not at the same level of function...

Rich I know you`re anti-roids,and that`s cool. but at your age a doc that prescribes legit TRT will only benefit you IMO.

A mans testosterone levels drop steadily beginning at 25  years of age in most cases and continuously keep dropping as time goes by.

I`m certainly not telling you what to do by any means,or even advising you......just food for thought my friend.

Yes, many bodybuilders are using more test than any sane doctor would prescribe for hypogonadism calling it TRT.  Some play the game that the upper level of normal is 1000 ng/dl so they supplement to that. Never mind they were never above 500 when they were a 21 years old natural.

What many don't know is that testosterone is a factor in enlarged prostates that happen to so many guys over 60.  Know what they do for prostate cancer and enlarged prostates? They give you a pill to chemically castrate you to eliminate the testosterone.

As long as I'm in the normal  range no matter how low I will not take testosterone. Too much supplemental test can also change the viscosity of your blood making it thick increasing the odds of heart attacks. Always shocked when I hear a 40 year old kid saying they are on TRT.  What kind of ill health is effecting all these young men who work out in the weight room? I know the reason.

I never take any offense by what you write. Is every man "sick" because they are not at the testosterone level they were at when they were 25?  I know many that have supplemented through the years for bodybuilding have permanently lowered testosterone. I guess they truly need TRT.  If they didn't they would be singing soprano playing with their man boobs and getting emotional watching Hallmark movies. Just having fun with the last line. Hope all is well with you Wes and your family. I know I shouldn't post on the site because my anti steroid stance angers users. I mean no offense.

Forty-year-old “kid”?

One can acquire hypogonadism at any adult age. TRT is taken for hypogonadism regardless of age.

You’re not a physician, let alone one that specializes in andrology.
