Certainly I am not innocent from viewing pornographic content, but, irrefutably, involvement in its making is damaging, to varying degrees.
Politically correct to say or not, females suffer the most brutal harm.
In no reality does a woman not inflict damage onto herself engaging in porn.
There's a tidbit circulating that women sleeping with mass numbers of men damage their ability to pair-bond by diminishing levels of plasma oxytocin. Something like that.
The ones refuting this the most furiously are, of course, the most prolific sluts. According to them, sleeping with 10, 100 - HELL, EVEN 1,000+ MEN - will do absolutely nothing to adversely impact pair-bonding. Right.

For men, high partner count = higher probability for infidelity, apparently. Makes sense. It only takes 10 partners to make infidelity almost guaranteed. Even ignoring that, there are other risks - like STI's.
Much like you, I think pornography is a degenerate enterprise. But I am somewhat intrigued by how it impacts the lives of the performers. So I have watched a lot of documentaries on the topic.
I would recommend "Inside Deep Throat" [2005], and recommend watching the interviews with Linda Lovelace on YouTube and even her grave site videos. What I think happened to Linda, is that she had starred in a bestiality porn movie in 1971. Then when Deep Throat blew up in 1972, Linda became extremely famous. From there, rumours of her bestiality porn movie circulated, causing her massive embarrassment. Then she went on her anti-porn crusade. I think she was significantly under the influence of meth and cocaine at the time.
Jamie Gillis and others said Linda wanted to have sex with the dog, while Linda said she had a gun pointed to her head.
Linda's story is a sad one. Her regrets...her short life. One way or another, porn destroyed her. I would say that porn is, on the hole, a net negative, but it would be something very difficult to control.
A few executions could change that though, and history shows: our social norms can turn on a dime when the pendulum swings too far. I think we're getting there.
I highly recommend the documentary on Linda Lovelace, below.
