I've got a proven track record of terrible predictions, but here are my thoughts as of today:

If Vance runs in 2028 he will be the GOP nominee, with Rubio as the obvious VP choice.  He will likely beat Newsom, AOC, Pritzker, Harris, or any of the current potential Democrat frontrunners.

If Vance decides not to run, Rubio will be the GOP nominee and will crush the Democrat opposition.

I like Vance, but I've always liked Rubio.  I wanted him to come out of the 2016 primary, and would have voted for him in the primary if I could have.  (We have closed primaries in Hawaii.)

I'm thinking there is a chance Vance will decide not to run.  Honestly, I hope that happens and Rubio runs.

I think Rubio would have better chances against Newscom than Vance would.

I agree.  I think Rubio would have a better chance against whomever they nominate.

Heard a discussion this morning by the Ruthless podcasters saying AOC is a legit threat to be the Democrat nominee.

I don't get it.  She can't even do an interview with someone like Ben Shapiro.  She be exposed at every turn.

I don't think it will be Newsom either, terrible record to run on.

I think it will be a governor, Beshear, etc

Rubio rarely has anything to say, making it difficult to assess him as a candidate. On the other hand, Vance would do well to stop making dumb remarks or better, just say nothing. My guess is that folks find Rubio more likeable than they do Vance who often makes offensive comments. Like the old saying goes, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." Don't try and use that logic thing.  It has been out the window since about 2015.  Remember we elected this guy:

WHOA: Bill Maher tells ABC’s Jonathan Karl that his 2028 vote is officially “in play.”

Maher says he will refuse to support the Democrats if the party continues to go down the “communism” road.

KARL: “You told JD Vance you’re open…your vote is up for grabs?”

MAHER: “Yes, my vote is in play.”

“Because it can’t be Trump running…so I’m not living in communist America.”

“I mean, I know the talking point is that, it’s not communism and socialism.”

“Okay. I’ve read the quotes from the DSA platform, from their own mouths.”

“Don’t tell me I’m not seeing what I am seeing!”

“And DSA, again, they say things like, you know, take over of key industries, government.”

“That’s communism.”

And in 2016 you elected Trump. What is more you elected him again in 2020. This is absolute proof that logic has been absent among Republicans since around 2015. Maybe someday, it will return for you.  ;D

I didn't vote for Trump in 2016.  He lost in 2020, but I did vote for him in 2020 and 2024.

Weight loss and a book tour: JD Vance’s stock rises in Trump’s eyes
After months of privately weighing his vice president against Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the president has begun openly rooting for JD Vance, five people familiar with his commentary said.

@IAPolls2022

The DNC has selected its regional early-state picks for the 2028 Democratic presidential primary calendar:

• Northeast: New Hampshire
• Midwest: Michigan
• South: South Carolina
• West: Nevada

South Carolina and Nevada remain the top contenders to go first overall.

LOL! Sorry to disappoint you but that was obviously a typo. To be clear, Trump did not win the 2020 election. Which regardless of what Trump claims has been legally confirmed many times over. He won the 2024 election. In my opinion It might have been better if he won the 2020 election because he was younger, not as insane, and mostly because he would not be in office today. We would be done with him, Yeah!

The fact that Don Lemon sees himself as a natural nominee says more about the Democratic Party than it does about him.
