If a qualified expert in a given field -- say, an astrophysicist named Dave -- tells us "Comet Asshole is going to hit Earth in 2035," that's cool. I'll hear him out, though I would seek out other astrophysicists' take on Comet Asshole.
Citing Dave as a source isn't illogical. He IS an expert insofar as comets potentially fucking us up are concerned.
If I understand who you mean by MacGregor, it sounds like he's taken too many shots to the head and, as a result, I don't believe him.

I object because, while I fully agree to not blindly accept anything from my government prima facie, I don't accept the premise that the U.S, government, or its FBI, is purely spewing bullshit on the basis of MaCGregor's claim.
