#340-345 is doing this, and he thinks he's adding #60ish pounds to it in a week.

He mimes 365 pounds.

Also, he is doing a high bar squat, so he can lower it and it'll be easier.  Not sure if you can do a lower bar squat with the lame squat aid, though.

He isn't wearing a belt and putting on a belt helps a lot at the bottom, so it'll be easier.

All in all, 405 is possible.  If I was him, I'd probably just keep building the 365s though.  Rushing to 405 is only going to end in one of two things: very very sketchy 405 or injury and appeasing the haters.

Brian:  I'd do pause squats.  Lower weight, just sit at the bottom.  You'll get a lot of stability improvement.

he will do a 4 inch partial squat and claim it was almost there.

He should lower the weights and focus on controlled reps.

That's what will build muscle, not focusing on a 1 rep max and powerlifting rules.

How would you rate a smith machine squat when compared to free? I mean how much weight would you have to do on the smith to be comparable to a 405 free? I might try some for around Christmas. Unfortunately I shake too, 1-2 years back it was impossible for me to do a regular squat with broom stick without falling over. I'm much better now but I won't be doing regular free squat circa-maxes for a while. 8)
Most I had on my back was about 25 years ago with IPF-banned 2.5 meter wraps pulled as hard as possible, 573lbs to barely parallel. Young and stupid :D

i watched one of his "Squat" videos, it was like a half rep ..no wonder heīs always injured

Doing whatever ranges with lighter weight and actually feeling the quad muscles working would be infinitely better than whatever he's doing now.

Remember some years ago i did a tri-set of Back squats,front squats, hack squats all with Barbells i had set up in my home gym. I didnīt have a leg extension / leg curl machine at that time.
was intense & obviously i had to lighten the loads to complete it but i got a great feeling in my whole legs
