Wood Hankins
Nothing has changed nothing happened in shower or at show not injured just slipped (knee slipped I did not fall) from excess fluid. The knee swelled from snowboarding and has some fluid. As such it buckled twice yesterday and twice the night before.
At no point have I ever indicated in anyway this is going to stop me from squatting. I have however decided to take the weekend off. I will squat Monday; I will squat Wens and again on Friday I will squat half a dozen times between now and Xmas.
I have been squatting 3 days a week for a month and took one week off to Snowboard with my kid. I plan to take another week off after Xmas as again have a snowboard trip booked. I am then entering a godamn squat competition on the 11th of January.
My squat is going up every damn workout. Congrats you are the only guy on your entire board who actually currently competes and squats. You are also a decade younger with 2 good knees but whatever. Funny how everyone else on the board wants to post your squat and act like they did it.
I saw 200 x 1 on your video though so STFU with 5. At no point have I ever said I am not squatting for Xmas. Obviously, you will all claim it's too high and not good enough regardless, so I plan to do it in a meet now anyway. Also, I am looking for a double bodyweight
I am going to add 100lbs to my squat the next 12 months.
Yet Joes show pics when he was older than Brian don't hold any weight despite Joe's condition eclipsing that of Brian? Gotcha
100lbs in 12 mos at 48??
Forgotten things:
1) Compressive forces on the joints skyrocket (non-linearly) as the load increases. Squatting 500lbs isn't just a strength issue, it requires extreme joint integrity.
2) The longer someone trains, the neural efficiency gets maximized and gains become more and more marginal (pharma excluded). Take someone 5yrs into lifting vs. 20yrs and you won't see that massive 'jump' at all
3) The Crohn’s disease (alleged). It will increase systemic inflammation which will absolutely interfere with fueling a body despite the stuffing of ones face.
4) When a 365 squat looks like an RPE of 8 or 9....the 500lbs is almost impossible. The 365lbs should look like you have 4 - 5 in the tank (RPE 6)
But hey, Mike said Brian is humble and loves his kid....so why not shoot for something that will fuck your body up for no other reason than to 'shut the haters up'. Absolutely do not take a step back and just stay "healthy" so that your knees don't "slip" in the shower? No logic to that at all
