me my 2 brothers and a friend collected watches over a period of years. they sit in a safety deposit box in Hatton Garden in London. I wont talk value total but we invested money 'heavily' over years purely as a way to easily pass on assets in the event of death. However we worked it rather than laid out loads of money.

watches we have (between 4 of us)

Omega Moonwatch (my favourite as my dad used to show me the planets at night so it holds sentimental value
Omega Dark Side of the Moon- 1 on ceramic black and 1 the 'grey side'
Omega Olympic Official

Rolex- Hulk and Pepsi

Patek Aquanaut (worth more than the entirety of brians collection but he doesn't like patek haha)

Panerai Luminor and Radomir

Vacheron Constation 1 x Traditionelle and 1 x Historique

10 watches in total.

This is not in any way to boast I never wear them they are an investment. We got into it because we used to help some footballers with 'security'. They would buy watches at cost then pay extra to have them blinged up- Diamonds etc. They tended to be african players at London based football clubs. The issue they had is they would get robbed a lot. So once they had worn them and been papped in them the watch would have to go. The lads were earning 100k plus a week so money didnt matter. The africans loved the Big Bang watches by Hubmot and Audemars. So we had a deal going with this jewish lad.

Say a watch was 100k with 30k of diamonds added in we would get the footballer 50% of the watch price back and the same of the stone. However in reality we could realise 80% of both. 3 players in particular one spurs one arsenal one chelsea would literally do this every month. All we did was sink the money into buying watches new never to be won or touched. So they in effect cost us nothing. They sit in a safety desposit when I die my 25% will go to my kids etc etc . The value of the collection has raised significantly above market rates through luck not judgement. No skill involved just a group of friend who trust each other and a four by two who is as greedy as he is knowledgeable about watches!

As for me I have my own moon landing that I wear and a fitness watch for my heart. I wouldnt risk anything more expensive as it would get robbed at some point. My moon landing was bought over 12 months from goldsmith the jewellers. Not with daddies money!

Brian- your collection is absolute tat. 2 ok pieces the rest you've been walked over and laughed at. Keep going. Next hobby- make it art collection please! We can have a really good laugh as you unearth a Rothko  fake!

I'm way behind compared to Bhanky.
Only have one beat up wrist watch and a pocket watch.
Both have dead batteries.
I'm a loser.

I won't pretent that I can't see the appeal of luxury watches as a decadent item of consumerism,  but it seems distasteful and odd to shamelessly boast about it the way he does. I don't think he can successfully assimilate into the watch discussion communities. From what I can tell those are mostly congregations of nerds who would consider Brian an uncultured gentile consumer

Brians MO in watch world is same as anywhere

go on friendly seeking acceptance
the minute anyone has a different opinion are stuff up

'I am a racing driver'

sounds a lot better than

I did 2 stock car races 10 years ago against one car'

'I am a competitive bodybuilder'

reads better than

'I asked a website to make down my competition pics as I look like shit'

'I am an acct by trade'

sounds better than

'I haven't done accountancy in 15 years

'I am going to law school

sounds better than

'I am reapplying to law school aged 48 after I got kicked out of the last one for fraud'

Lusting after luxury items excessively is a cope for the genetically inferior. In the garden of Eden nobody had jack shit yet it was paradise

Objectively and putting all biases aside, would you say someone who posts on Reddit as Prestigious-Tart6621 is what you’d call “a good dad”?

What constitutes a "good dad" to begin with and why should anyone care? Seems like a participation medal type of title. But he is definitely not a good role model for a child or anyone for that matter.

He'd never admit to it but you just know he's lost a sickening amount. The man is only alive because of his father's success. He's barely worked a day in his adult life and he's still planning on wasting more years doing an online degree to 'shut down the haters.'

We do have this which is entirely as expected i.e. reality not adhering to ego

I made 500k+ one year in Maui trading leveraged derivatives unfortunately during the covid crisis the market dropped 10% one day and they changed my margin requirements to 100% after I doubled down multiple times on losing positions. I was overextended and could not make my calls. I lost 7 figures in the market.

Oh and just on that self-reported 500k Maui gain in the first sentence in the above quote, he let slip the following:

One year I had 500k in trading profits but I also lost it trading.
