He (and Rubio) are really into “foreign policy” rather than “domestic policy” which is weird because that’s exactly what his base does not want him to be. Some old line interventionists (like myself some of the time) do not exactly disapprove (“go ahead: now that you’ve stabilized Gaza, give it a shot and try to resolve the Russia/Ukraine mess”) but this is going to tear the Republican Party apart. Where do Republicans go from here?
As for “domestic policy”, he only cares about immigration. But not about health care (“oh, that’s way too complicated”) or the economy (“oh that’s all Biden’s fault”). And forget about Epstein and the victims. And the tariffs really all come right back to “foreign policy”.
