Nobody is supposed to get pleasure from it. That's the point. Especially since we are engaging an ideology, not a rational people. I've said before, any time we're dealing with these people and their ideology, they only understand violence, taking potshots at each other or taking turns blowing up something insignificant isn't going to cut it. They need to be destroyed, defeated and beaten so badly that they submit. It's all they know and our government is too pussy to do it so we get caught up in these "forever wars".
I just don't agree that they're irrational and I've argued endlessly why they aren't irrational. Nor do I think they just understand violence. If you remember, Trump praised the Iranians at one point saying they are "very intelligent and very tough negotiators" too, and the new Ayatollah was "much more
rational than his father." Now that Trump lost the negotiation and was very duplicitous they're suddenly "very stupid" LOL. They're neither stupid nor irrational. Look at how genius they have been with regards to the escalation ladder for example.
It's easy to say the U.S. should have been much more decisive. Obviously Trump must have bought Netanyahu's bullshit about quick regime change or else he would have heeded the warnings of the whole admin who said that wasn't going to work. So he didn't plan ahead and now he's grasping at straws, the supposed real objectives of the war keep changing.
In your opinion what should the U.S. have done differently? We had 40 days of very, very intense bombardment, like 13,000 targets hit IIRC. The U.S could have amassed 600K+ troops and done a land invasion as the military analysts say a war can't be won from the skies alone. But that could have taken conscription and 2 years of build-up to line everything up. A multi-country coalition perhaps. Not to mention this idea wouldn't have gone over well at home. Some nukes instead? No that could not have been sold domestically nor internationally either. So, what?
Trump thinks you're really jealous and very stupid, or just a bad person, by thinking he hasn't been tough enough. You're just an armchair quarterback who listens to conspiracy theories. Sit down, the man's a genius, just let him do his job!
