I think all most people are saying is that you're poor technically and you need some improvement and that Josh is much more fundamentally sound.  They are not saying you are universally bad and without virtue.  Maybe you'd knock him out, he knows that, you know that.  But the question of who is a better boxer is fucking obvious.  The guy that boxes.

I don't know why people like you (hank included) act so poorly when you come across that sort of commentary.  I think "great, I can get better, no problems".  You spend 7 pages of a thread having to defend yourself against everybody whilst imagining that somehow, the version of truth you have in your head is still preserved.  Who gives a fuck if you're not sound fundamentally now, what is that but a few adjustments and practice.  Why are you so against that?  Fuck, even hank worked on his squat.  You're now more pig headed than hank about this.  Not one person would say shit if you just said, oh yeah, I'm dropping my hands, I'll work on it.  Instead, you'd rather waste your life trying to beat reality into submission so that you can avoid the obvious.

I always thought you were a rational guy?

Post reported for being 100% rational

In all seriousness, it is human nature to dig your heels in when confronted about something you're passionate about.  When an outsider's perspective is not aligned with what someone has of themselves it can hurt, it can be uncomfortable, it can put that person in a place where they might need to change.  It is easier to double down than actually take criticism. (sound like someone we all know?)  For most, criticism is somehow equated to being a bad person (as you pointed out about Ro).  I am sure some of us are old school in that we were used to just being told when we did things wrong and if we did things 'right' we didn't get praised because there was no need.

I know jack shit about boxing but the wide, straight arm thing doesn't look 'right' to me.  The only way to truly tell if you are any good is to actually get in the ring for REAL with someone at least of your own level and see what happens.

It's possible that both propositions are true: someone is a better boxer with better skills, but the other person would kick their ass in a fight because of being bigger and stronger.  I thought this was why MMA actually started, all those late 70s/early 80s arguments about whether some karate kung fu guy would beat a boxer or the Rocky III Thenderlips versus Rocky thing.

you don´t even need Kung Fu or anything else.. a kick in the balls, an eye poke, spit in the eyes it all works
the half nelson for example which a lot of people are afraid of

He was better technique wise a few years back so he actually got worse with additional practice

Honestly, it’s a really fascinating topic. And something of a pet interest of mine, this idea that someone can be crazy irrational on one topic, but otherwise sane and go about their life and thrive.  Trump Derangement syndrome types, tax protesters, who insist that paying taxes is voluntary, people obsessed with Disneyland or Disney World, degenerate gamblers, lots of examples.

I spoke with a guy last week who told me he didn’t pay taxes , because we don’t have to, and after 5 minutes I couldn’t talk to him about anything else because I thought he was delusional.

I have a friend who at 54 has never filed taxes once in his life. Makes good money, has good credit and cars. But rents his home. Never had an issue so far and I said good for him.

That’s awesome. Does he not pay taxes or just not file?

The guy I was referring to is a school district employee and he opted out of paying federal taxes on his paycheck. He said the IRS sent him a letter and his advisor sent them a letter back. This guy will eventually have his wages garnished or have a lien put on his home.

He has never filed and stays off the radar for the most part. He puts most his money in gold/silver and cash hidden and just rents houses. It’s pretty amazing he’s made it this far.

I think this is the way it’s got to be done. He’s not some random government employee who’s paid into the system for 20 years and then decided to stop.
