I don't think age is a reliable predictor.  It should be whether someone is mentally and physically able to do the job, regardless of age.  But there should definitely be term limits.  I'd favor some kind of competency exam after a certain age.

Regarding aging, it really depends.  There are some people in their 50s and 60s who are falling apart, and some who look and function like they are in their 30s.  And we're really talking about two different aspects:  mental and physical.  For people serving in public office, doing white collar work, we are primarily concerned about their mental fitness.  Some people lose it early and some maintain it forever. 

For example, Alan Dershowitz is 88.  Still as sharp as ever.  Thomas Sowell is 96 and still brilliant.  Then you have someone like President Biden who is 83 and has been a vegetable for about 8 years.  And Senator McConnell who is 84 and could have been a zombie on The Walking Dead for years already.  It's really case-by-case IMO. 

But there should definitely be term limits and some way to ensure they can pass a mental fitness evaluation.
