If something gets shared with you on Instagram, it recommends "others you may know" that the person who shared the post also follow or know.  It's constantly trying to get you to link up more and more people.  It's not uncommon to see recommendations for a friend or co-worker or schoolmates' friends or family who you had no idea about.  Fucked up.

Not sure if someone clicking on an Instagram link you post on the internet results in this same effect, but it might.
