If you remain a kid and have no bloodline, your opinion is removed from society. Nobody cares to listen to people who won't exist soon. This hits women VERY hard later in life as all their friends are talking Grandkids and are held in higher regard in society.
I totally get stepping up to the plate and giving kids the best time possible by being there for them at every moment they need and contributing to their happy memories. That is absolutely worth it in every way.
.. but I don't give a fuck if my opinion is removed. All opinions are removed by time.
and I'm not going to have children so I can boast in a retirement home that I had children who have had children. If that floats your boat, do it, but that to me is an insane justification.
The kid I'm closest to is great fun, but if/when he gets a bit older and hits teenage years and barely speaks to me again, it won't bother me. I'm not here to take from others or build prestige about it. I'll know I gave him a great time whilst he wanted me around. I don't need my opinion to last. Even he probably won't remember all the hours I've served his whimsy. Doesn't matter.
The little c unt recently asked me to be his godfather because he saw his mum getting gifts from her godmother, every time she visits. Every time I see him now, he tells me I'm "falling behind on gifts"

Clever boy.
