Dorain also claimed to be training harder than anyone else, total bullshit, anyone can do 2 sets to failure.
Imagine watching Dorian doing a round of giant sets with Milos, he would have had a heart attack
You and I talked about this ages ago. I think that Rimjob troll was in the mix, too

I don't expect you to agree with me now anymore than you did back then

, *but* I actually think Dorian wasn't too off-base with his claim. Look at what how his contemporaries trained: Dillet, lazy: Flex, also very damned lazy; Haney, ehh...I'm from his neck of the woods and lifted with him as a teen, and his training was, shall we say, conservative (just like on his show...the man could flat bench 405 for 5-6, yet he rarely did that); Kevin worked heavy and hard, but after a certain point, only lifted a few months per year vs. Yates pounding it year-round; Nasshole, I dunno...his training tapes didn't impress me at the time, but my memory is going; Shawn was a very hard worker, though, in fairness.
Dorian DID seem to put more effort, consistently, than at least most of those guys. Low volume isn't mutually exclusive with busting ass. For example, Arnold worked hard but from everything I've seen, his marathon volume sessions were: a, something he only did in contest prep; and b, he never took sets to actual failure. He'd come close, but no Cuban. He left reps in the tank. Even when he was grunting and making a spectacle for the cameras with those cable crossovers in "Pumping Iron," he could've done more.
There's no question that there are tons of guys who trained harder, going beyond failure on lots of sets, all the time. But that's contextually sensitive. None of those guys counted as Dorian's rivals, and that was what he was talking about -- not gym rats or pros who weren't in the mix for top spots.
That's my two cents. I'll remove Dozzer's dick from my holes now. I know you hate him anyway, and as I said, I've little doubt I'll change your mind.
