I knew this question was coming.  You guys are too predictable ::)  The pic from above shows the 180 degree angle of Halfdome.  That's not where I climbed.  Only an experienced rock climber with safety gear would be able to do that.  Even then, someone seems to die every year attempting it.  The side I climbed on, could be hiked if the poles are up.  It's at about a 45 degree angle.  Without the poles, you are able to stand on the clif and pull yourself up with the cables.  So, if you do let go, you will fall.  However, I knew my condition at the time was superb and I had no doubt I would make it...I did.  Here are some pics so you can get a better idea of what I am talking baout.  Imagine the poles holding up the cables not bein there.

BTW, I would not go sky diving, bungi jumping or anything else of the sort that takes my life out of my hands and puts it in danger.

It was awesome.  I'm looking forward to doing the Grand Canyon later this year.  If anyone wants to do Yosemite, let me know.  We can have the whole GetBig wack-pack out there for a race to the top.  Ha ha ha!  Now that would be funny :)

Would you slide down quickly if you fell? Could you grab onto something?

Layne is 100 percent natural.

He stays at around 6 percent bodyfat in the offseason.

I still think he is overreated

No shit. There are guys larger than Layne in every gym in the US. I really don't see what all the fuss is about... Honestly, the guy's got the worst structure for bodybuilding I've ever seen. (If Mike Katz were thrown into Auchwitz and starved for 5 years, he might look something like Layne.) He wouldn't place in the "Mr. Ethiopia" contest, let alone any respectable NPC show...

Ross Perot was awesome!  He shoulda been president >:(

Anywho, back to the thread.    Mindspins turn to endurance events is interesting.  Most B/builders get so attached to their mass that it becomes their Identity of themselves.    If they look good that day, theyre the King......if they look bad, theyre angry.  Thats a rough way to live.  As you get older most guys learn to put into perspective.

Kal Kczlak (sic) is doing long distance bike racing in california....  and looks as happy as ever, no doubt muh healthiar too.

Yeah, it reminds me of the time Tom Prince said, "What's the point of being alive if you can't be huge?" He knows now how stupid that mindset is. Good to see Kzkalak staying active and healthy!

He said it on Mayhem a few years back and you could tell he was at least half-serious about it :-\

Even at my biggest (230 at under 10%BF) I knew not to let that be the definition of who I am.  I was juiced, training/eating/sleeping bodybuilding.  I knew sustaining that for a lifetime would not fulfill me.  After my last show, I did not set foot inside a gym for years.  Needless to say I shrunk...big time.  People who saw me thought I was sick and felt "bad".  However, I walked around with as much confidence as ever.  I remember a friend pulling me aside once and asking me "how do you do it?  You were huge and now you're not yet it does not seem to faze you".  I had simply moved on to a new goal and was working just as hard toward achieving it.  I drew self esteem from constant self improvement....

Are you saying that Lusius would have no problem grabbing another guys' leg?

There is nothing to grap onto.  Half way up there is a ledge about 10" deep where you can stand with your back to the cliff.  I did that and nearly froze because you are looking straight down.  It was freaking scary!  And yes, if someone falls, they'll probably take down everyone behind them.  If the poles are up, it's a lot easier.  You can use more leg power and there is more to hold on to...

It should be "another guy's leg" ;D Would you let yourself fall down or would you grab someone else? Let's face it, we'd all take the rest down with us ;D
