It's pretty obvious BobbyBennett is out of his league here. Maybe he should check out MM for a while.

I couldn't even begin to count the number of times some douche bag "karate" guy got his ass whomped by some juiced up roid head at our gym.
The juice heads love to tear apart "fresh meat," which is what they call MA guys.

It's funny to see.  The MA guy will get in his pretty stance, position his hands, breathe properly, and the monster juicer will just grab him and smack his head against the ground.  lol

Spending a year practicing your "kata" or whatever the hell you turds call it is hardly practicing to fight.
No bber is going to waste his time waiting for your 4 second round house kick to land, when he can just grab your throat until you pass out.

Than you could also explain to me why Bob Sapp get his ass kicked over and over again in K1 by trained fighters?

Could any of your "monster juicers"  ::) beat Peter Aerts, Sem Schilt, Glaube Feitosa, Ruslan Karaev, or a lightweight like Por Pramuk? I do not think so.

I'm not a top notch fighter compared to the ones mentioned above, but I've had a few years of training Kick Boxing, Free Fight and Krav Maga. The scary looking juice heroes are all the same. They are strong, but very, very slow, and lack endurance. Why waisting energy on a round house kick when a good heel kick to the knee is usually enough?

Where do you live, Disney World?

Marius Pudzenowski. Renowned juicer. Ex boxer. Karate expert. Oh yeah, and the strongest man in the world. Bobbybennet san, 'the crane kick' is not going to work against him. Go back to bed kid.

You guys make me laugh.
I love wannabe meatheads that walk around like they have a watermelon under each armpit.
If you guys are so good at BBuilding, let me know which show you're doing next.  Anything more than a local suburban show and I'll be impressed.
MB, I did Tae kwon do since I was 6.  I'm now 34 and i know for a fact, I can rip apart the fitness level of most bodybuilders.
I'd love to see Ronnie Coleman go up against Benny Urquidez.  I know who my money is on.

Tae kwon do is pathetic. I know because i did it - before switching to Muay Thai. A low gaurd and 'tippy tap' kicks are totally useless. I'm not hating, its just the truth.

And just how long did you do it for to make a call like that?
I did Muay Thai for 2 years and didn't feel good about doing it.  Not saying it's pathetic, just not for me.
TKD served me pretty well over the years.
Oh yeah, low guard and tippy tap kicks?
I broke a guys collar bone with an Axe kick a few years back.

Can't say I'm too impressed by TKD either, sparred against ( Im not a tough guy streetfighter I only spar  :P ) lots of blackbelts, and IMO TKD has too many weak points.

I did TKD for years as a kid. The first time i sparred properly with some Thai boxers i got a rude awakening. Like i say, i'm not hating, but against a martial art like Muay Thai its useless. Just my opinion, don't take it personally.

Tae kwon doe, it is what i learned as a kid and still an avid practicioner. I hired a bjj trainer a while back because of the high interest in that discipline. I train in bjj when it is not taking time away from the students. It's an interesting style, just not too practical unless you are interested in mma, imo. Which is not to say that it doesn't come in handy in fights that end up on the ground. Anyway, it was never my intention to get into a pissing contest with any of the posters over which style/method is better. We all have better things to do than argue about fighting. It's beautiful here in Michigan today, hope you guys have a great day!

Haha yes, I'll take it easy also. I know perfectly well how a "my style vs your style" can turn out.

Bobby,

With all due respect to you sir, Tae Kwon Doe is NOT practical at all in the streets, that has been proven time and time again.  You say that BJJ is not too practical unless you are into mma, but the fact of the matter remains that every street fight will be more along the lines of a mixed martial art fight, so if anything, you need to pick up a style like BJJ, because no one does any of those damn acrobatics that you see in Tae Kwon Doe.   All you truly need to be an amazing fighter is a combination of Boxing and BJJ, that's it. Every top mma fighter looks to have just that, an excellent ground game and a moderately effective striking game and with these two elements present, you are pretty much set when it comes to being a good fighter.

If you aren't Chuck Norris, don't use the old roundhouse,

Totally agree about the aerial part of TKD. It is stupid and very unpractical. I don't teach it, except to the kids who ask to learn it. In all the street fights I have seen, I never witnessed anyone doing any damage with a "flying roundhouse". As far as bjj, I have total respect for it, it is a great discipline. Like i said, I hired a bjj guy and am learning a little myself.  IMO, wrestling is just as useful as bjj though. A few of my students are accomplished wrestlers and they pretty much own me when we start from the ground. (getting me to the ground, involuntarily, is another story altogether though. lol.)

Good post Bobby.  I also do believe that a solid wrestling background can be just as effective as BJJ, with a few tweaks here and there, 'ala Matt Hughes (Wrestler who assimilated BJJ into his regimen and now is at the top).
