ANYTHING that these pros do on their own is seen as a threat, the IFBB treats these guys like cattle and they just sit back and accept it because 99 percent of them don't have any other skills but lifting weights, Lee obviously has other avenues of making money and it threatens the IFBB heirarchy.
There is no threat, it's all talk until something happens. If it takes place cool and I applaud his efforts, whatever those may be. The announcement gave no details and said nothing more then I want to start a foundation. You're all hugging his nuts because he makes an announcement? Okay great, but like I said if Bob Chic or Shawn Ray posted that exact same message you would all be bashing them.

Just what will the "foundation" help with bodybuilders? Chris Cormier's hospital bills? What? Seriously the announcement does nothing but stir up shit for Lee to attempt to do the Olympia. Lee knows the rules, he competes in the NOC he will be suspended.

bullshit, i've never had anything but positive things to say about Bob or Shawn doing charity events for kids, i've ragged on all three of them in a joking way but what these guys do for kids is awesome if the money goes where it is supposed to.

even Shawn wouldn't do something that low, plus there's too many other people looking at where the money goes than just him.

Y'all can bust on Shawn all you want, but even forgetting about his contest career, he has ACTUAL accomplishments that have helped BB/BB'ers:

1. His muscle camps
2. His golf tournaments
3. His Colorado bb contests.

Of course all these ventures put, or have the potential to put, $$$ and/or good publicity, into Shawn's pockets, but so what? IMO, Shawn is 1 of the best examples of post-competitive career success. Unlike say Vince Taylor who at age 49 is going around nearly begging, in print, for an endorsement contract.

Lee, in all seriousness, I hope you will be as organized + business-like as Shawn.

EFFECTIVE charities need to be run as efficiently as a business.

I love to rag on Bob and Shawn, but I give them props when they do something that 'gives back'.  I sure wish the IFBB would join the the heart or cancer charities.

It's a great plan Lee now if you get to do the Olympia awesome and if you were to place high even better but remember it is the IFBB,just ask Wayne about them anyway you know that only too well.

Attention IFBB and fellow Bodybuilding fans....I want
to make an announcement that may be of interest to
all.

As you all know, I have stated I WILL be competing in
this year's Mr. Olympia contest, no ifs ans, or buts.
So, that being said, I would like for everyone to know
that any prize money I receive will go to establishing
the LEE PRIEST FOUNDATION. That's right, 100% of the
prize money I win will be used to start this
FOUNDATION. In addition, any guest appearence earnings
will also be contributed to the FOUNDATION.

This FOUNDATION will be developed to assist and
support those within the sport of BB'ing and its fans
to name a few. It is my belief that BB'ing has taken a
wrong turn for both the fans and the athletes. It is
my hope to take BB'ing to a new level for the
betterment of everyone involved. This is a sport of
comradery or at least should be. I have been a IFBB
PRO now for 12 years and I have seen the degradation
of the sport before my eyes, I am sad to say.

In closing, my intention is simple. I would like to
give something back to the sport of BB'ing and the
fans that have made it possible for me to compete. It
is time to give something back and to make things
better for all.

Lee Priest

The majority of bodybuilders make plenty of money off the sport.  Those who are destitute did not invest their money wisely or was into nubain.

There's no need for a Lee Priest Foundation.  But you should be using that money to pay your back-taxes to the IRS

If you work hard, Vince, someday you may make enough money to owe tax yourself.

Lee, what better way to promote interest in the sport than donating money to the Mr.Getbig winners?

The least you can do is contribute an autographed bobble-head.
