You can overtrain when using resistance loads. Cyclists train for conditioning and performance and rarely use load resistance for training....HUGE difference!!
Can you provide me an example of a Bodybuilder who overtrained?
Serge Nubret trained 6-7 days a week for 3-7 hours a day.
John Grimek,Clancy Ross,Steve Reeves did Full body Routines,working every muscle 3 times a week training time about 3-5 hours. Sometimes they even upped it to 6-7 days a week when training for a contest.
They all looked great and the Natural ones were as big if not bigger than the naturals of Today.
So again, can you provide me of an instance of a known bodybuilder overtraining?
