Competition is good, or you become stagnant and dictate the odds, with free-will and democracy becoming non-existant.

Or something like that.

exactly what Lee said there, Kamali was horrific in comparison and in no way what so ever deserved his placing. The sport is going nowhere fast, its pathetic and needs new blood. Things arent gonna change any time soon so its going to die a long, slow death on its present course

kamali is nearly as bad as kovacs

I wouldn't go that far...  Kovacs is one of the worst ever.

That said, Kamali is waaaaaaay overrated by the judges.  Who knew hype would buy you placings in the IFBB?  ::)

Things aint changed much.

Arnold in 80, and whatever year Oliva looked better, Columbo 81, Dickerson 82 those were not deserving winners. Haney 90, Yates the year of the muscle-tears one-arm bandit.
Plus Oliva in 84 I think, having his 8th place or lower fixed before show.

the two actually aren't that different

both clearly are in the far along stages of palumbism, kovacs is just in very end stage. kamali will be there in a little while. look at his waist. it is like 45 inches  ::)

I think we can all ask for one thing from the IFBB officials and judges: RESPONSABILITY...

We need responsible people who can STAND behind their decisions and have no problem defending it...So if THE WHOLE WORLD see the obvious (Wolf outclassing King in every aspect of bodybuilding by a million and one miles ;D) - than someone from the judging panel should have some explaining to do...

After all - WHO ARE THE JUDGES and how do they get qualified to judge?
Who gives them the criteria which should be used in judging the IFBB pro shows?
Are there any classes that judges could take? Courses or seminars?

When the IFBB sends the official notice (V-taper and flat stomach thing...for example) and judges choose A-taper and severe pregnancy...than someone should explain to the audience (or the athletes) HOW and WHY that could have happened?
Did judges actually didn't NOTICE the obvious...or they judged with exactly the opposite criteria?

I am sure that many people would like to know...

...and one more thing: how long do we have to wait until someone will do something about it?

Do we have to wait for a day that Jocelyn beats Ronnie before we say something?

Well?
That just happened in Montreal - so I think it is about the time.

Milos politics will always go on until the athletes and fans say enough is enough.Judges are told where to place people they talk back and forth.I have heard it from many judges but they will do nothing about it.Time for the fans to be heard and the athletes to take a stand

Well, number one - IT IS HARD TO JUDGE THE BODYBUILDING SHOW...and I said that many times...

Also, there are very good judges in the IFBB - no question about it.

Many times I ask Jim Manion and USUALLY HE IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY - seeing the contest exactly as I do (or as it should be judged...).
Also Big Steve is very good judge who definitely knows EXACTLY what he is looking for...His wife Bev is another very good example...
And I am sure there are many others ...

Now, if you ask Jim or Big Steve about how they saw or judged the show - they would have NO PROBLEM telling you (and everybody else) how they placed you and how they judged.
Why?
Because they stand behind their decisions.
I like to hear Jim when he gives analysis of certain competitors - and I was extremely happy to realize that Jim actually looks for all the little details and pretty much notices EVERYTHING!

Big Steve is probably the best in expressing himself "to the point"!
I remember when Markus asked him what was wrong with him in one of the shows...Steve just looked at him and told him: "you are a fat f..k"...
He doesn't go with "cherry on the top" - saying: you are somewhat soft...holding water...a bit off...instead he gets to the point...

But, how many other judges would do that.

Many, many - MANY judges would simply smile and shrug the shoulders when asked how was possible for someone to place ahead of someone else...
They usually give you that "I know what you are saying...but you know how it goes" smile...

I would have a suggestion - I know that MANY (ALL ;)) people from our industry read bodybuilding boards - and they would read what we say on these pages (getbig) plus many others...

Starting with Montreal judging panel - let's call each and every judge and ask them to put in writing their placings in each round and their reasons for placing the competitors the way they did.

If you really think about it - they should have no problem stating publicly how they've judged...
That was there opinion and we would just like to comprehend how and why they make their decisions...

If we understand them and we know what they are looking for - maybe we would all agree with them and realize that (maybe ???) stomach sticking out in front of the chest is a good thing...and 45 inch waistline is something that we should all aim for..

Why not make the scorecard public with how the judge's scored?

72 IFBB pro shows...not 68...

And to confirm what I said: it is absolute SHAME that something like this could happen (again and again in the IFBB pro shows).

It is the time for us (public) to start asking judges to give us their official scores and REASONS for decisions they have made...
So, we could possibly start with finding out WHO judged the show and how (and more importantly WHY) they scored each and every round.

If I am a judge I would certainly have no problem elaborating how and why I judged the show and why I have placed certain competitor ahead of the other...
Maybe (just maybe?) judges from the Montreal would have no problem letting us know HOW and WHY they placed Kamali ahead of Wolf...

Bob as the IFBB athletes representative should ASK the athletes if we would like the option to hear the judges giving us their official judging decisions...
After all - it would be very educational for all of us to find out HOW judges think...and what they (really ;)) are looking for...

Good post, Milos.

I was being sarcastic in downplaying your experience in competition.  i was hoping ten people would jump on me and respond that with your great experience and knowledge, you are credible here.

I figured using sarcasm would get more emotions riled up.

I don't know who this milos is, but I doubt he has the knowledge of experience of the judges there tonight.  Who were the judges anyway?

Wolf should have beaten Kamali.  There is no doubt there but Wolf looked much worse than at his last competition where he turned pro. I have noticed some judging seems to be based on how they look relative to previous showings, which is obviously stupid.

However, this dramatic worsening of his physique leads me to believe that he must have worked with Milos for his prep. Not even Chad can match Milos' ability to take a solid pro and absolutely maul his physique while charging him outrageous sums. I am sure we can all look forward to a steady decline in both his physique and bank account thanks to Milos and don't forget those awesome 4 week out photos that Milos is quickly becoming famous for.  If bodybuilding competitions were held in locker rooms 4 weeks before the expected day of the event Milos' clients would clean up for sure.  Well done Milos

Honestly, it is going to be hilarious when Shari does the O and places in last place.    He got a gift here that is for sure.  But come O time and he probably won't even be allowed to do his routine at night because he is just background fodder by then.
