The point I'm making is not whether or not the IFBB can promulgate a set of rules, the point is whether or not their rules are lawful. A private club cannot enforce rules that are unlawful.
Exactly correct. Here's Bob's argument in a nutshell:
My country club has a "no negroes" rule. Rule 2.395 clearly states that if you try to bring a negro into the club with you, your membership will be suspended. By joining the club and signing your yearly membership card, you are agreeing to all the rules and regulations... after all, you don't have to join this club, there are other clubs out there. If you don't agree with the rules, you are free not to join this club.
Anyway, last week my neighbor brought a negro into the club with him. He was fully aware of the rules when he did this, and knew it would result in his suspension. He, of course, was suspended for this. He says he's going to sue, but I think he's full of hot air... after all, he DID agree to the rules each and every time he renewed his membership. Since he's made it clear that he hates our club and its rules, I don't know why he's bothering... he should just go elsewhere anyway.
