HIgh Pulls or One Armed Deadlifts. Folks always think the HP's are screwed up Upright rows and give advices.

My secret gym exercise is when i bench. i put two 5 lb. plates on each side and in secrecy when no one is watching i then do the secret exercise.

- Chins/Pullups from fully extended arms.
- Deadlifting standing on a board over 2 plates
- Sumo-style deadlifts.
- A genuine top-of-hip-below-top-of-knee squat
- The side press.
Everyone at my gym has either never heard of or rubbishes these 'secret exercises of the ancients' as heresy.

WTF is a Jew bar extension? lol
The jew bar has two vertical handles about 8 inches apart surrounded by an oval metal ring. Then a couple ends atached where you can add plates. I like it for standing extensions, not too many gyms have it though.

I don't currently do all of these, but have done them all sometime in last 6-7 months in my gym. Never seen anyone else doing them

Not sure why it's called that. Great exercise for abs and gets a lot tougher on the stabilising muscles as the weight gets heavier. Very good functional exercise imo

tricep pulldowns with the v-bar. Everyone use the rope attachment only.

Dumbbell shoulder presses sitting reverse on the preacher curl machine. When the gym is crowded and I can't get anything else his works well.

Use the Smith machine. Better yet, the angled one.

I'll do shoulder presses using the standing calf raise pads. And pretty much any leg exercise seems to be abnormal at my gym. That is why I don't have any qualms using the calf machine.

Lifting weights over 10lbs, doing cardio intensely enough to sweat, and NOT watching Oprah while going 1.2 mph on the treadmill (I go to Planet Fitness).

I like to use the machines in ways that nobody has ever seen before...
and then see if anybody tries to be as stupid as me.

IMO they are a must for any fight program.

I got one of those in my home gym. I use it for tri extensions, and also for hammer grip barbell curls.

There is one amazing one I gleamed from a Nasser video, it seemed really awkward at first but then I tried it and totally undestood it. He was working traps with a cable (lat pulldown) station, he attached a tricep pushdown bar to the cable (which was just over head height) stood back about 2-3 feet from the seat/padding and pulled the tricep bar towards his brow/head. Best thing I have ever done for traps, once I started doing this they exploded in size, you get a really good contraction/pump from doing it this way, instead of just doing shrugs. If you can't imagine it, think of it as a cable lat row but done to your brow/head.

Any chance you could find this video. I'm really trying to grow my traps.
I will check my bodybuilding dvd's tomorrow, I think it was one of the battle for olympia one's, great exercise.
