Increased HR in the evening might be caused by high cortisol /adrenalin/epinefrin levels due to a lot of stress!

Ya know, you guys complain about how "catty" women are, you guys take the cake for "scratching peoples eyes out"...can we be serious here and talk about the subject at hand??? My resting heart rate is a good solid 65bpm upon waking. When I have applied myself to a regimen of cardio for a couple of months (pre contest) it drops a full 10 beats per minute.

you're looking at it the wrong way. the higher your heart rate the better. this isn't golf.
I shoot to get a higher score every time i check it. it means your heart is working harder. just like more horsepower in a car.

maybe to much beer has been part of my problem, I'm laying off for a while... I hate cardio, only did it once a week but I guess that was a bad idea. Wondering about my heart isn't being a fag.

Unless you have serious muscle (at that height) you definitely have a problem of possible arterial blockage etc... or your heart is just not used to doing any work. What's your blood pressure?

Gawd, you're bustin my balls man... That sounds hard :P
The first time I did a spin class was a 6:00am class for an hour....I swear my body and my head were buzzing for an entire day....the first 10min of the class I wondering how in the hell I was going to make it for an hour, now I try and go at least twice per week!

I agree, spin class is uber gay, but I want to live for a while longer so maybe I'll try it. If I die soon, I won't be around here to be on Berzerk fury's nerves and that would be a tragedy :D

You'd be surprised on how many professional athletes rely on those classes as part of their conditioning.....nothing gay about it!

You won't see Ronnie Coleman doing that.

Well I admit to those spinning classes catching my eye, some hot bitches all sweaty going up and down... Hmmm, yes, I think this class would kill me ;D

-

Yea the chicks are hot and it would be my woman dragging me into the class, but I still can't do it... No WAY. Can't I just stick to the tread mill and those stair climbers and stuff, that's not to bad, boring but I don't feel gay and guys like Ronnie do that shit.

It's not, but those classes always remind me of the 80's aerobic craze. gay gay gay... I just can't get myself to go in there. Let's get physical, physical.... :P
-
Are you one of the guys like John faggo Romano that insists Bodybuilding isn't a sport?
I coined the phrases "Bodybuilding isn't a sport" and "Bodybuilders ARE NOT athletes" I've been saying on here for years!

Not even close!!

I am pretty sure I am heavisets and I just took mine and I am between 14 and 15 beats for 10 seconds. At my best (when in shape @ 300) I was around 12 to 13 beats for 10 seconds. SO considering I am at my al time worst I guess my resting heart rate aint to bad. But, I can get that to probably 22 to 23 beats per 10 seconds walking to my car.
-
Not even close!!
Spinning, yea I know, it's a circle of those bikes that they go nuts on.
-
And you are an athlete?
Not anymore, but I train like one!

Ronnie Coleman trains harder than you. He has superior core strength, and he doesn't roll around spinning on balls.

Times that 15 seconds X 6 = 90bpm if thats resting, thats high!

Who care's, there's only one Ronnie and none of us will ever be even close, so using Ronnie to set any standards for anything for anyone on the board is silly.

Bodybuilding is a sport.
Hi Earl!
-
Who care's, there's only one Ronnie and none of us will ever be even close, so using Ronnie to set any standards for anything for anyone on the board is silly.
Any bodybuilder really has better core strength than these people playing on balls. You wanna develop "core" strength? Work your obliques and abs, and do deadlifts. Your core will be far superior.
-

Lets see Coleman run sprint 100 yards 10 times without snapping a hammy!!

I'm talking about athletes not your average person in the gym!

I just wanna see you make of video of yourself sprinting down the driveway to check your mail. We can talk about 100 yards once you prove you can do that much.

I do, and I gotta agree, I fuggin hate the stupid balls... I see some clown the other day doing heavy dumbell presses on that ball and thought, that's fucking stupid... Then I just read where some dipshit destroyed his face doing the same thing after the ball exploded... ahahahahaahaha
-
Let's see you bench 535 with proof like Ronnie probably can!!!!
It's not functional according to the wisdom of Itenseone. ::)
It only becomes functional if you do it with a 115 pounds on a giant neon green ball.
-
I just wanna see you make of video of yourself sprinting down the driveway to check your mail. We can talk about 100 yards once you prove you can do that much.
I'm at the track twice per week and I don't have a driveway, I live on a beach!

Yes Beserker. The core they keep refering to is just a trendy way of saying abs, obliques, and lower back. Any bodybuilder has a superior core. It's a gimmick, because people need cute names and toys to get their lazy butts in the gym anymore. And the PTs make money.
-
I'm at the track twice per week and I don't have a driveway, I live on a beach!
You lost everything ???
-
You lost everything ???
LOL!!
-
And the PTs tell the skinny guys they train that anything over 60 pounds isn't functional (whatever the hell that means) and the skinny guys feel better about themselves and pay the PTs more money.

STFU....your obviously clueless about training, stop now, quit making an ass of yourself and IM Ron to have you be a mod on the "childrens" board!

Well that's fine for my woman, she likes it and she mixes the weights in with me so it's cool the classes are there, I'm just not going to do it... She's tried to get me to go about 6 times in the last year and each time I had to come up with all sorts of BS reasons why I couldn't that day ;D I know the core classes she does, they do deadlifts and quite a few things with weight too, but it's not my bag baby ;D
-

Yes Bezerkerfury, Intenseone isn't too bright is he? hahahaha
-
There is a good point to some of these personal trainers... WTF Really? How many times I've seen a new guy come into the gym and hire a personal trainer because he's clueless which is good BUT, he has the guy standing on two wobbly things doing curls ::) and yes, dumbell bench presses on those balls, everything but having the guy learn the basic lifts. :-\ I gotta thinking these fuckers have plans for our weight area. All Balls and wobble things :-X
-
Yes Bezerkerfury, Intenseone isn't too bright is he? hahahaha

This guy thinks he's arguing? Whenever someone calls him out or proves him wrong, the only thing he does is start threads crying for us to be banned and that we're children. Monster debate skills this guy's picked up in life. ::)
Typical Republican asshole.

A pageant is a form of procession traditionally associated with both secular and religious rituals, often with a narrative structure. Pageants were an important aspect of Medieval European seasonal festivals, in particular around the celebration of Corpus Christi, which began after the 13th century. This festival reenacted the entire history of the world in processional performance, from Genesis to the Apocalypse, employing hundreds of performers and mobile scenic elements.
Other pageants in the Christian world have centered on Saints' festivals, Carnival (Mardi Gras), and Easter, while vernacular agrarian festivals have celebrated seasonal events such as the harvest, and the Summer/Winter solstices (Midsummer's Night).
Drawing on this rich and varied Medieval tradition contemporary artists such as Bread and Puppet Theater, the Welfare State, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Spiral Q, and Superior Concept Monsters have used pageants as a potent community-based performance form.
-
a beauty pageant is a beauty contest, it does not require physical exertion in a competition against others to win, bodybuilding competition does.

OMG Are you guys training at 24 hour sickness, or Ballys?

Still doesn't make bodybuilding a "sport" and you can take alot of that definition and apply it to bodybuilding!

Not true, there is a talent part of the contest......or did they do away with that? I haven't seen one in a while, all I know is that the chick from Kentucky who just got her crown stripped is freaking HOT, she reminds me of Carrie Underwood!

But you seem to think the definition of sport is so exclusive, how many competitive activities are called sports without a fuss in the world. Bodybuilding is the only one that has a few people make a big deal about it. Man, think about it, you train physically for months on end to step into a competitive environment and win against others. That's a hell of a lot closer to sport than pageant. Why the fuss if people want to call it a sport? I mean I understand from the pure fag audience, the guys who just show up to drool... To them it's a beauty pageant. But my world is not there world so I don't give a fuck what they think.

If bobsledding can be called a sport, then nobody should have a bitch about BB.

What's your resting heart rate? Mine is fucked. :-\ 95. and it's not normally that high, but lately, all the time.
Berserker...you better get that checked. You should be a lot lower at rest. :-\ I am guessing you are in your low 20's and probably good shape, right? No way it should be that high especially all the time. Go to a doctor.
Cheri
fixed. ;D

Unless you have serious muscle (at that height) you definitely have a problem of possible arterial blockage etc... or your heart is just not used to doing any work. What's your blood pressure?
blah, blah, blah..............are you a doctor or someting?I'm 270 at about 18 %bf at the moment. But just curious - how the hell did you come up with the idea that i might have arterial blockage - just cause i'm heavy? ::)

There is no skill involved with bodybuilding exept for posing!
-
Don't let Chic see those pics of the guys in costumes. He is supporting the IFBB and they don't have that. What a fucking circus

Times that 15 seconds X 6 = 90bpm if thats resting, thats high!
Why would I times it by 15 seconds for 6. Thats not how its done. Try 4 if 15 seconds hope this helps
-

You misunderstood......didn't you say your resting was 15 for 10 sec? 10x6=60sec 15x6=90bpm!!
-
I am pretty sure I am heavisets and I just took mine and I am between 14 and 15 beats for 10 seconds.
10x6=60sec
15x6=90bpm
-
57 the other day giving blood. Temp of 96.9

Mine went down once I lost weight from the pneumonia. I plan to put it back on, and as such my heart rate will go up slightly. That's the risk you take to bulk though. Even without drugs, it's healthier to be a lower body weight, and even the difference between 185 and 205 makes a difference, however slight.
That weird, heart rates usually go up when a person is sick (cold, flu)!
-
If bodybuilding was a sport, then that would make bodybuilders athletes and we all no that isnt the case.

Correct athletes require skill!
-

Yes I must misunderstood. I thought you meant 15 for 15 seconds times 6. Okay I am wrong. And I definitley not bragging. I am betterthan the person who said they had a 120 or above tought and I am huge
-

Bodybuilders are atletes - no doubt about, but bb shows are closer to a modeling than to any kind of sport.
-
i got measured at 76 bpm today. I haven't done any cardio in about 6 weeks though.
-

Please make the case of why posing and performing a routine requires ZERO skill AND ZERO physical exertion... At best you can make the case that bodybuilding is physically easier than many other sports but you can't argue its not a sport if there is even a speck of skill and physical exertion required in a competitive environment. na na nu nanners... End of Story, and Romano is still a cock smoker. :P
My heart rate waking was 69bpm... still to high for just waking up huh ???
-
It's already been proven with the dictionary. It's a sport. Intenseone is denying reality now.

Just waking up or just sitting around.

The turd known as Meltdown Romano thinks the dictionary makes his case that Bodybuilding is a pageant. Truth be told, his bias probably stems from a deep inner hatred of Joe Weider. Probably something to do with Joe wanting bodybuilding in the Olympics. Or maybe it stems from some legal argument he has tucked in that pea brain of his for taking steroids that doesn't fit if BB is a sport. Quite some time ago that steroid lawyer had defended some case and argued that bodybuilding wasn't a sport. John probably made his decision at that time and hasn't updated his brain cell yet. One thing is for sure, he's got some bias he's not explaining. This is the god's dumbest argument and for a guy like Romano to come unglued and insist so strongly that it's not a sport, it must have some special meaning for him. ::) In Intenseone's case, he's just wrong on everything so I forgive him ;)

I said with the exeption of maybe posing.......but not many can even do that anymore!
-
I said with the exertion of maybe posing.......but not many can even do that anymore!
But then if posing is a part of competition and it is, then you agree with me... I can meet you halfway and agree that as a sport it requires much less skill and exertion than some sports but none the less, it still meets the minimum requirements by definition to be considered a sport.

hahaha. Yes. I would love to here him explain it. He probably does have some reason tucked away. There was a guy in the news recently, on trial for having sex with animals. The law says no sex with animals. Well, said animal, happened to be dead, so the lawyer claimed what he did isn't prosecutable, because technically he had sex with a carcass and not an animal lol. I'm not sure if he won the case.

Ok, I'll meet you half way....but until it get's put on ESPN as much as a Hot Dog eating contest or a spelling bee I can't really consider it a sport ;D!!

actually it used to be on all the time so was it a sport when it was on but not now? I would argue by your last criteria here which is not part of the definition, that you have noted this is a low point in the sport which is true, this is a low point to the sport of bodybuilding but being on ESPN is not the pass for what is and isn't a sport. Infact you help make my case if you're calling hotdog eating sport there is no way you can say bodybuilding is not.
