Around 60-62 upon waking up, I do it about 3 times a week.

Trivia: Lance Armstrongs was 32 :o!!

I train 2 riders on the Discovery cycle team and theirs are regularly 38-42 in the offseason!

Low to mid 50's

A couple of things could be causing yours to be high... :-\  Stress, overtraining, lack of cardio....

Increased HR in the evening might be caused by high cortisol /adrenalin/epinefrin levels due to a lot of stress!

Ya know, you guys complain about how "catty" women are, you guys take the cake for "scratching peoples eyes out"...can we be serious here and talk about the subject at hand??? My resting heart rate is a good solid 65bpm upon waking. When I have applied myself to a regimen of cardio for a couple of months (pre contest) it drops a full 10 beats per minute.

I just love going into the gym and lifting... Cardio just sucks, booooooring...  It's not so bad in the summer, I can ride my bike and shit or see how fast I can climb a few thousand feet.  My woman keeps trying to get me into those group classes, oh hell no, I won't go... Yoga is the only group class i've tried and I fell asleep.  They lit the incense, I did a few movements and about 20 minutes into this stuff I woke up with drool soaking the mat >:(

see, that's what I'm talking about, I can't bring myself to say, Ok and do one of these classes... Yea the chicks are hot and it would be my woman dragging me into the class, but I still can't do it... No WAY.  Can't I just stick to the tread mill and those stair climbers and stuff, that's not to bad, boring but I don't feel gay and guys like Ronnie do that shit.

Spin isn't "jazzersize" (I didn't even know that was still around)!!

I am pretty sure I am heavisets and I just took mine and I am between 14 and 15 beats for 10 seconds.  At my best (when in shape @ 300) I was around 12 to 13 beats for 10 seconds.  SO considering I am at my al time worst I guess my resting heart rate aint to bad.  But, I can get that to probably 22 to 23 beats per 10 seconds walking to my car.

Quote
Main Entry: 2sport
Function: noun
1 a : a source of diversion : RECREATION b : sexual play c (1) : physical activity engaged in for pleasure (2) : a particular activity (as an athletic game) so engaged in

Bodybuilding is a sport.

Any bodybuilder really has better core strength than these people playing on balls. You wanna develop "core" strength? Work your obliques and abs, and do deadlifts. Your core will be far superior.

Yes Beserker. The core they keep refering to is just a trendy way of saying abs, obliques, and lower back. Any bodybuilder has a superior core. It's a gimmick, because people need cute names and toys to get their lazy butts in the gym anymore. And the PTs make money.

Two choices:

Winter (in Colorado): Spin 3x week

Summer: Track work ex; 1600m warm-up followed by bleachers w/stadium hops or 100X10 2-3 times per week!

If he's in Colorado, he could do some cross-country skiing in the wintertime. That's very good cardio, low-impact training.

A pageant is a form of procession traditionally associated with both secular and religious rituals, often with a narrative structure. Pageants were an important aspect of Medieval European seasonal festivals, in particular around the celebration of Corpus Christi, which began after the 13th century. This festival reenacted the entire history of the world in processional performance, from Genesis to the Apocalypse, employing hundreds of performers and mobile scenic elements.

Other pageants in the Christian world have centered on Saints' festivals, Carnival (Mardi Gras), and Easter, while vernacular agrarian festivals have celebrated seasonal events such as the harvest, and the Summer/Winter solstices (Midsummer's Night).

Drawing on this rich and varied Medieval tradition contemporary artists such as Bread and Puppet Theater, the Welfare State, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Spiral Q, and Superior Concept Monsters have used pageants as a potent community-based performance form.

But you seem to think the definition of sport is so exclusive, how many competitive activities are called sports without a fuss in the world.  Bodybuilding is the only one that has a few people make a big deal about it.  Man, think about it, you train physically for months on end to step into a competitive environment and win against others.  That's a hell of a lot closer to sport than pageant.  Why the fuss if people want to call it a sport?  I mean I understand from the pure fag audience, the guys who just show up to drool... To them it's a beauty pageant.  But my world is not there world so I don't give a fuck what they think.

But you seem to think the definition of sport is so exclusive,  Man, think about it, you train physically for months on end to step into a competitive environment and win against others.  That's a hell of a lot closer to sport than pageant.

There is no skill involved with bodybuilding exept for posing!

Don't let Chic see those pics of the guys in costumes.  He is supporting the IFBB and they don't have that.  What a fucking circus

Times that 15 seconds X 6 = 90bpm if thats resting, thats high!

Why would I times it by 15 seconds for 6.  Thats not how its done. Try 4 if 15 seconds hope this helps

You misunderstood......didn't you say your resting was 15 for 10 sec? 10x6=60sec 15x6=90bpm!!

Mine went down once I lost weight from the pneumonia.  I plan to put it back on, and as such my heart rate will go up slightly.  That's the risk you take to bulk though.  Even without drugs, it's healthier to be a lower body weight, and even the difference between 185 and 205 makes a difference, however slight.

That weird, heart rates usually go up when a person is sick (cold, flu)!

If bodybuilding was a sport, then that would make bodybuilders athletes and we all no that isnt the case.

Correct athletes require skill!

Yes I must misunderstood.  I thought you meant 15 for 15 seconds times 6.  Okay I am wrong.  And I definitley not bragging.  I am betterthan the person who said they had a 120 or above tought and I am huge

Bodybuilders are atletes - no doubt  about, but bb shows are closer to a modeling than to any kind of sport.

Please make the case of why posing and performing a routine requires ZERO skill AND ZERO physical exertion... At best you can make the case that bodybuilding is physically easier than many other sports but you can't argue its not a sport if there is even a speck of skill and physical exertion required in a competitive environment. na na nu nanners...  End of Story, and Romano is still a cock smoker. :P

My heart rate waking was 69bpm... still to high for just waking up huh ???

It's already been proven with the dictionary. It's a sport. Intenseone is denying reality now.

The turd known as Meltdown Romano thinks the dictionary makes his case that Bodybuilding is a pageant.  Truth be told, his bias probably stems from a deep inner hatred of Joe Weider.  Probably something to do with Joe wanting bodybuilding in the Olympics.  Or maybe it stems from some legal argument he has tucked in that pea brain of his for taking steroids that doesn't fit if BB is a sport.  Quite some time ago that steroid lawyer had defended some case and argued that bodybuilding wasn't a sport.  John probably made his decision at that time and hasn't updated his brain cell yet.   One thing is for sure, he's got some bias he's not explaining.  This is the god's dumbest argument and for a guy like Romano to come unglued and insist so strongly that it's not a sport, it must have some special meaning for him. ::)  In Intenseone's case, he's just wrong on everything so I forgive him ;)

I said with the exeption of maybe posing.......but not many can even do that anymore!

But then if posing is a part of competition and it is, then you agree with me... I can meet you halfway and agree that as a sport it requires much less skill and exertion than some sports but none the less, it still meets the minimum requirements by definition to be considered a sport.

hahaha. Yes. I would love to here him explain it. He probably does have some reason tucked away.  There was a guy in the news recently, on trial for having sex with animals. The law says no sex with animals. Well, said animal, happened to be dead, so the lawyer claimed what he did isn't prosecutable, because technically he had sex with a carcass and not an animal lol. I'm not sure if he won the case.

Ok, I'll meet you half way....but until it get's put on ESPN as much as a Hot Dog eating contest or a spelling bee I can't really consider it a sport ;D!!

actually it used to be on all the time so was it a sport when it was on but not now?  I would argue by your last criteria here which is not part of the definition, that you have noted this is a low point in the sport which is true, this is a low point to the sport of bodybuilding but being on ESPN is not the pass for what is and isn't a sport.  Infact you help make my case if you're calling hotdog eating sport there is no way you can say bodybuilding is not.
