There is no secret there.
Just a regular squat.
I am not doing the ass to the floor style anymore.
But still deep and my body position is quite vertical.
If i say there is a secret for my quads growth, maybe that is the secret(Keeping my body position vertical as possible).

Yes. Thats why I lift very light. Its only 130kg(Inspite of me saying 140kg in the video ;D)

When I squat, whether it be light or heavy, my torso leans forward A LOT. It seems like I cannot help this. It feels fine, but looks bad.

Knee wraps will force you somewhat to the more vertical upper body position, and they make the squat easier of course.
The only thing I noticed is that your back arch is sacrificed a bit in the upward motion on the later reps.

Strange as you have very big legs but only do half squats even with knee wraps yet your legs are much bigger than mine.

Good observation. I am totaly not interested in the poundage. I am only interested in the burn in my quads. So my knee wraps are purely for my knee protection.

If you squat verticaly, its a really heavy weight.
The most important point is that you should never ever move your torso. Moving torso is very dangerous.
So, when you reach a failure without moving your torso,you had better use spotter.
The squat is most effective but most dangerous at the same time.

Sorry Kyomu, I don't wanna be a smartass, but ask any chiropractor, physiotherapist or sports physician and they will confirm you that the parallel squat is WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY more stressful on the knee joint than the deep squat.
Actually the right angle is the most unfavourable position for your knee. When you squat like you're doing you stop the movement exactly in the worst position, while when you go deep you pass that position by quickly.

even though goin deep is less stressful on the knees, some people arent able to do them like that, so whatever range of motion u can do without pain, is the correct range of motion for you.

Btw for the guys who are wondering why they are leaning forward a lot - its probably leverage and you're a hip dominant lifter instead of a quad dominant lifter - that means relatively long limbs short torso type of guys.
Don't try to squat upright when you're not built for it imo.

Thats because of my knee protection. My knees shouldnt be going foward too much. Thats dangerous.So You need to stick out your hip and bent slightly.

But, I dont see any concentration for the muscle contraccion.
All what he trys is lifting as heavy as possible.

In fact, Dennis Newman was know for squatting with his heels in the air as he went down. I have the same problem, once I get to about parallel, my heels start pulling up. I can't do "the Asian squat" :D

I've got a friend like that....his achilles is super tight and no matter what he can't keep his heel flat on the floor thru the squat.

So their legs need to lift more to look like mines. Just i dont need that much weight to develope my legs.

I don't like the feeling of plates under my heels. With all that weight on my back I prefer to keep my feet planted firmly on the floor.
Luckily I don't have a problem with my heels going up off the floor, but the situation with my back pisses me off. A person came up to me telling me "I'm gonna blow my back out" cause I naturally lean forward when I squat down.

That's how I'm built -- long legs and short torso. I stopped trying to fight the leaning forward, and instead just go with it when I squat down. It may look bad, but I am very comfortable doing this and my squat has been progressing.

Exactly man. I've had guys come up to me and say "well, you need to try to stay completely vertical with your torso when you squat" and I watch them and they go into good morning style on their own. It's easy to criticize when you're the one watching. The results are obvious with what you're doing...keep it up man, great work.

I don't think going to failure is necessary but you do. But this was about 10 reps from failure. That's why you're able to do lots of volume. Going to failure means actually failing at some point - at least to me.

If you are a member of his gym, you can be a friend of him easily.
If you train very hard, he will come to you and say "Why dont you join our workout?".
He dont act like a special VIP of bbing. Thats why he is great.

But, even the range of motion is the same,feeling is really different.
One comes into play the glutes more and another comes into play more quads.
Just like leg press and Hack squat.

If you look closely at what you're doing, you're still engaging the lower back too much. Watch closely at the bottom of the rep as you start to go back up, there's a little tilt forward where you engage the spinal erectors, etc. If you focused more on pushing through the heels, you'd be able to get rid of that easily. Just nitpicking...not trying to be a dick.
