"sustained cracked ribs and a punctured lung after he was stripped naked by deputies, beaten and shocked repeatedly with a Taser gun, according to a Wednesday court filing."
-
why are us police so fucking brutal ?
-
Fuck the police man. I'm seeing more and more of this shit pop up all over the place. They think they can do whatever they want as long as everyone of their guys makes it home safe.
-
I heard American police is the most violent in the world.
Sad.
Sum' democracy should be spread.

had he followed command, there is no need to escalate....just another moron trying to be a tough guy, ultimately inviting to police to beat him (more) senseless....

really? would you be able to do that to another human being like that?
Some fucked up people turn into being cops sometimes.
-
The pigs never win.

The cops shouldn't have that much power. They shouldn't beat you down like that for not following commands. I hope people start to retaliate more. Maybe a few of these tough guy cops need to get hurt or killed.
-
Maybe it's just me, but if you just got tased... It's probably a little difficult to just immediately be able to follow a command.
You just had your nervous system shorted out.

Youre wrong ex "cop"
You only kick a suspect when he is using that same force or one notch below. An officer is allowed to meet force with like force or one notch above. Do I need to school you on the force continuum again???
This guy was on the ground using zero force.
And your statement that he was "inviting" the police to beat him is hysterical. Moron you are Chick.

So in your opinion police should be allowed to torture human being?
LOL.
You (usa) criticize North Korea, Iran etc. for this kind of shit and then do it yourself? Way to go, bros :D
-
How about all the no knock raids the pigs are doing. They kick your door in the middle of the night shoot your dog ran sack your whole house. Scare the shit out of your wife and kids. What if they kick down the wrong door?
-
Fellas, relax.
Chick is a die-hard police ball licker and will defend them at all costs. I've already been through the whole force continuum thing with him. He hasn't a clue as to what he's talking about.
It's not worth any of your time arguing with him.
-
I thought they were intended to be used instead of a gun or deadly force? Now they are allowed to "teach you a lesson" with them?
the police just recently decided on replacing old taseres with a more higher powered version.
I bet a lot of people that have been tasered and survived now probably have heart / nerve damages they are not always aware of. they probably took 10-20 years of that guy's lifespan.
-

especially when your ribs have been broken from being kicked on the ground and sticking trough your lung.

Very sad. 3 shots followed by "get on the ground!" command.

"The defendant had committed no crime,” the motion states, “was not advised that he was being arrested for any crime, and was not charged with any crime until after the officers had beaten him"
-
Yeah sure, cops just came at his trailer, got him out and started kicking him and tasering him for absolutely no fucking reasons.... (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/images/smilies/facepalm.gif) moron.
btw:
The dashcam video shows deputies repeatedly telling Ring to stop resisting arrest while he is laying facedown in the snow with at least two deputies on top of him. Deputy James McCord wrote in his incident report that Ring kicked him in the testicles, poked him in the eye and tried to grab a fellow deputy's firearm.
"He (Ring) was extremely violent towards all the deputies trying to restrain him," the incident report states. "He was continuously kicking and spitting on the deputies."

btw:
lol for quoting the police who were actually the ones caught on tape and now being the target of a possible civil suit. Just covering their asses.

The problem is that "they want us to retaliate". Because when we do, that's the shit that's going to run on our government run media. And all the little scared shitless(you must follow the rules at all time arm chair quarterbacks) are going to want more of our freedoms taken away because the government media is going to use Fear to scare the shit out of them.
-
"ROLL OVER ON TO YOUR STOMACH!"
I have a feeling a few of those cops might be hearing that line in their cell after they get sentenced.
This was senseless and useless force. The man was no threat to the police or others around him. They beat him mercilessly and could have easily turned him on his stomach with so many of them, and properly restrained him without issue.
Why cops do this when they're being recorded is beyond me. You'd think they'd have thought at least that part through...
"They" want it recorded so the public gets used to it. Its happening way too often and its not slowing down. It really doesn't make any sense other than its exactly how the Hierarchy wants it imop.

No Man, there are a multitude of ways to subdue a person that does not involve beating them up. Any well trained officer knows how to do this. In the military they taught how to subdue guys like that without resorting to punching and kicking them.
-
Look at how many cops there are and they couldn't roll him over because they're too lazy and too fucking fat.

Funny....you never "schooled" anyone on anything....I went through the police academy, we spent a whole bunch of time on it...
That said, had he simply listened and followed command instead of being defiant...the rest never happens.
it doesn't matter that he was the ground using zero force...he was given a command and decided to act like a retard...the police followed the textbook on giving voice command, repeating it over and over again...even after getting taser, he STILL wouldn't follow command...tells me he ain't all there, or is high, etc...even more reason to take no chances with handling him.

Bingo. Can't stand ppl blaming cops for violence etc. Its simple, shut the fuck up and listen to what the officer tells you. Guaranteed you will come out a little more pleased with the result. Hell, out of the 5 times I've ever been pulled over for speeding, running red light etc, I only received a ticket once. I simply chose to comply, said I was sorry and didnt give the officer a hard time. Problem is that most ppl have massive ego's, so how DARE someone with authority over them exercise it without hearing about it ::)

Well, I'm not sure why they did not roll him over for. Although he didn't comply with the order, he was not resisting. Looks pretty bad

There are members of this forum that would pay to have this happen to them

Who gives a shit why they didn't roll him over. The man was given very fair warning of what would happen if he didn't comply; the result was in his hands.

Wow! Your keyboard reaches all the way under your bed.
It must be a terrible thing to live in fear.

I'm so glad I live in a free and democratic country where I can respect police and not fear they might assault my home in the middle of the night and start beating the shit out of me or my family.
When I see cop on the streets, I feel safe and I can thank him for his important job.
If I lived in USA, I would be scared when I see a cop and hope he doesn't start beating the fuk out of me when I pass him. Scary even to think that kind of life.
I hope some day all the people in the USA can also enjoy the freedom and live full, joyful, fearless life with their families!
As bad as it sounds, these kind of incidents remind me how lucky I am I was born here in Finland and not in Africa, America or North Korea...

People can die when getting tasered. If a man isn't listening to commands with thousands of volts going through him, he may be in cardic arrest. Not only that, muscles can seize up etc. It may have been that the taser didn't allow him to actually roll over on his stomach. Anyone who thinks thats text book is a fcking retard. Any one of those cops should have been on the ground with at least one of the guys wrist already cuffed.

Man, you said it. These guys really enjoy pushing buttons in these situations, and it always comes back to supporting (and of course increasing) the money-making industry known as crime. I wish more good citizens would finally catch on to this huge scam.

You make it sound like some people were born as officers. The almighty "officer". When I finished high school all the fuckups and assholes went to join the police. They are given authority by the system. Not because they are leaders. Why are you putting these yoyos on a pedestal?
I will agree you're better off being nice to a cop but really they had no need to kick him in the ribs, especially since he really posed no threat. That is pathetic on their part.

I'm not putting them on a pedestal. The reality is that these ppl have tons of power and can ruin your lives if they want. Yes it may not be fair sometimes, but life isn't fair and ppl just need to accept that. Sure the rules might be unfair, but they are still rules to follow. If you decide to be a "rebel" and go against the flow, whatever happens is your own damn fault.

999 out of 1000 cops would have the brain to simply roll him over and cuff him no need to circle boot him, and your argument about him being high or something is more of a reason not to beat him up....also your argument about if he listened....well if they would have shot him would the same argument apply?... sorry chick I am usually on your side against these clowns that dis bodybuilding yet they live on bodybuilding forums all day long but this is irrational thinking

the " argument" is without merit IF he simply follows the command....end of story. The rest never takes place...he's a victim of his own circumstance.
it's really a simple process...let's say you get pulled over for a routine traffic infraction...officer walks up, asks for your license and reg...instead of just giving it to him...you tell him to go fuck himself. now YOU have created a situation which was unnecessary. now he will treat you as hostile, and it opens up a whole new can or worms...The officer will now wonder why you're acting irrationally, perhaps order you out of the car, search the car, etc...
option 1...simply give him the required info, receive a warning for your illegal U turn, and be on your way to eat dinner with your family, 1o-15 minutes delayed
Option 2... give the officer attitude, be defiant, escalate the situation...get your ass tased...be hauled off to jail...be issued tickets for illegal U turn, failure to produce a valid license, resisting arrest,etc...
-
Apparently cops can only get in trouble for using tasers on other cops. lol

Bob Chick is the same guy that said the Austin police were in the right when they tasered an 80 year old woman on the side of the freeway a couple years back.
They could have killed a comatose 96 year old quadriplegic in a nursing home execution style and he would somehow justify it because he was a sheriff "deputy" for a couple years in between illegal drug cycles.
He is the biggest pro cop Homer on getbig.com by far.

exactly my point...you're right, you dont crucify him for spitting on the sidewalk...you crucify him for making a routine, simple procedure into one that was completely unnecessary.
same logic applies....
cop: excuse me sir...would you mind not spitting on the sidewalk?
Jerk off: fuck you, Pig...you don't tell me what to do...I'll spit wherever and whenever I want...
Once again...a simple, No problem, Sir...would have sufficed...everyone moves on with their day

Chick, if you had attended the police academy, then you would know that if a person is not complying but not resisting as well and unarmed, then you only use a appropriate amount force on him to subdue and contain. The officers should have rolled him over themselves as he was unarmed, picked him up and placed him into the vehicle instead of continuing to beat on him with a baton, kick him, and tase him for 10 minutes.
Of course he's not going to fucking comply....he's drunk and intoxicated.
Idiots pretty much cost the county a lot of money. Honestly, Chick, I have to say that I'm very disappointed in your answer as it is insensitive and crude. Police officers are not omnipotent and have to follow the proper rules of engagement of anyone suspected of a crime. They cannot be judge and jury and certainly cannot act this way. If you're still working as a reserve deputy then I hope you don't pull the same stuff that they did or your ass will be in some serious trouble.
-
The cop would have come off so much better if they had let the man take a simple piss and then if the guy continued to talk shit, then you break bones.
-
Police serve the same purpose for the elites as the military. They reinforce through violence or the threat of violence an order of privilege for monied interests. Police assert this order on the domestic population. Altruistic feelings applied to either group are a delusional appeal to believing you are free.

Im looking at a portion of the tape, like everyone else....I have no idea what led to this...I see a car in the yard, looks like it might have been a chase..? If a guy is blatently disregarding a direct order, then I have no idea what hes capable of, or why he's doing it....could have a weapon hidden, could be looking to engage in a fight, could be a biter...any of a number of things...none of which Im willing to put myself, or my fellow officers, into harms way...
No matter how you dice it up...the fact remains, had he complied with the command given...none of the rest plays out...period.
-

Getting cursed at is nothing, everyone hates getting tickets. You have to maintain temperance and a clear head. He could be having a bad day, his mother could have passed away...you never know what's going on with people when you pull someone over. And you can't tase the person unless he makes an aggressive move toward you or reaches for a weapon.
This guy on the video was drunk on his own property and had nothing to do with the reason the police officers were out there. He was also unarmed. Whatever he was charged with will be dropped either due to double jeopardy or due to having no basis of arrest. Then comes the lawsuit and out goes taxpayers dollars
-

Its clear from the tape that he's drunk and they acknowledged that he was drunk. There's no use in yelling commands to a person that is currently incapable of understanding those commands. In addition, a taser disrupts voluntary control of the muscles so if the guy continues to tase him as he did, he's not going to be able to move anyway.
He should have only been tased once at most, handcuffed, picked up and put into the squad car and that would have been the end of it. Three minutes at most. Instead, they continued to tase, kick, and beat the suspect with a baton for over 10 minutes.
-

Its not the officers job to be Dr. Phil...He's doing his job. Everyone has an excuse....everyone has a story...it doesnt excuse the infraction, law broken, etc...If I pulled a guy over for speeding 30 over the limit..., there are few reasons that justify it. The fact he could be having a "bad day", is no excuse...especially if its putting innocent people that ARENT having a bad day, in harms way.
But, if simply asking for I.D. and Reg illicits a response other than, "Yes sir, here you go"....than more often than not, there is an underlying reason, which will prompt the officer t treat the problem differently than the hundreds of others that week that somehow managed to follow instruction, and go about their day without further problem...
Its tough to speculate further without knowing what led to the officers instructing him...I highly doubt he was on his own property, minding his own business when out of no where 5 cops decided to fuck with him for absolutely no reason...
-
most people don't know that Cops deal with a lot shit sometimes. the General public can sometime be ignorant, uncivilized. most cops try to follow textbook style according to their job training, but this moron, whatever he was under the influence of, didn't give a shit about police orders, the cops can't take any chances with this idiot and they had to do what they had to do.........this is a classic case of rules of engagement. you don't like it, well, too Bad

Actually, an officer has to sometimes be Dr Phil or did you forget the course in verbal judo you took. When an inmate or suspect cursed at me, instead of beating the tar out of them, I asked him what's wrong. 99% of the time, they'll tell you and from there you can defuse the situation which is what you're suppose to do.
You can't defuse everyone of course but you're less likely to get hurt or killed. Its all about going home at the end of the day or where we all went after work which was Playworld to shoot pool and drink some brew.

He's drunk, unarmed and well beaten and tased and he's moaning and groaning in pain, not to mention on his own property.
-
Those cops deserve a bullet to the head. They had ample opportunity to shackle his ankles and then cuff his hands.
-
guys.. i am not making excuses for the cops.. but for the love of pete just do what he says.. if you do what they ask you dont get a beat down.. it is always the "tough guy" that decides to confront them that gets his ass beat.. again, i hate police brutality.. but if ya do what they ask 9 times out of 10 it is pretty uneventful..
-
Whenever I hear some tool making excuses for the pigs, it just tells me that he or she hasn't been fucked over by the system (yet).
Yes, you need to fully comply when being confronted by them. You'll be doing yourself a HUGE favor. But if any of them step out of line with you, you should immediately file a complaint.
A complaint is a powerful tool because:
*It places a flag in his file that will stay with him forever. Whenever he seeks a promotion, all complaints against him will be considered.
*When combined with additional complaints from other citizens, it may cause him to be released from duty.
*It will provide evidence against him if he is ever in legal trouble for fucking someone over (which will happen sooner or later).
*It will help to show a pattern of abusive behavior that can again cause him to be released from duty.
Bottom line, it is your patriotic duty to formally complain if a servant such as this acts out of line with you or with anyone else.
-
The cops shouldn't have that much power. They shouldn't beat you down like that for not following commands. I hope people start to retaliate more. Maybe a few of these tough guy cops need to get hurt or killed.
Cops get hurt and killed all the time stupid. it is a very dangerous job. when u have a guy on pcp or other drugs and can be a fight to the death. according to this video they may have went to far. i wouldn't have kicked him while he was on the ground for sure..but you can't see what is really going on. he may have bit one of them for all we know. my point is not all cops are bad and alot of guys bring all the so called police brutatlity on themselves
-
I fucking hate cops...and i have a squeeky clean record. Fuck the police....

I thought the brothas said it like 'PO-LICE' :D :D

Unfortunately cant tell the good from the bad so i hate them all. Obviously they arent all bad. Byt fuck em.
-
LOL @ this Bob Chick character
I hope he gets arrested while guest posing in North Korea and gets treated the same way American police treat their people.
Maybe then he will learn!
-
Funny....you never "schooled" anyone on anything....I went through the police academy, we spent a whole bunch of time on it...
We had this discussion a few years ago on here. You were so off base then as you are now. I also went and completed the academy... and then went to law school. You haven't the slightest idea of the way a lawyer would rip your pathetic ass apart on the stand after this if that were you in the video. That is absolutely NOT correct police protocol. You're just arguing the opposite to be an asshole.
-

please....fill us all in on what led to this action taken

I don't know about American police... they might all be bad...
But here in democratic Finland we have really nice cops. They're widely respected for their important work. They don't use unnecessary force and are people with honor.
They talk to you nicely and always seek the most peaceful solution out of the situation.
I have nothing but respect for those guys and their work.

Barney Fife: Police are never allowed to kick someone like that when they are posing no threat at all. It's obvious the guy was on the ground not fighting back. There were 3 officers there as I recall. That should've been plenty of police muscle to apprehend the suspect without the use of hard techiques (kicks, punches etc.).
Explain why, in your opinion, it was ok for the cops to kick a downed suspect posing no threat? I'm asking this seriously. And don't give me your bullshit about how the suspect "invited" them to. You must admit that was a stupid comment on your behalf.
-

It's obvious while you claim to have gone to law school, you never finished..I'll ask you once again...
What happened before the incident was caught on tape? Why was the man asked to go to th ground?
-

Just like you Chick, I didn't see the whole tape. Just the segment posted. And remember, levels of force rise and fall throughout an arrest, so whatever happened an hour prior doesn't really matter too much. If the suspect was calmed down, kicking doesn't/shouldn't happen.
And please, your little "jab" re law school is futile. I've graduated and am practicing. I have been for 4 plus years. I've seen both sides of the equation.. the cop side and the suspect/victim side.
Now, that being said, go back and answer my question.

That video is the reason people HATE the police.....
A lot of them are on big behind the badge take the badge and gun and the rest of the gang away and they are less than nothing... quiet
The police in that video are out of order... why beat someone on the floor who offers no threat whatsoever, they coud have easily held him down and flipped him over on his stomache.....
its vids like this that make me feel no sympathy when you see on the news cop shot etc...
very suprised bob chick would condone this....
-
Chick condones this type of behavior because he claims to be an ex-cop. He really should be more intelligent than to state this guy in the video "invited" the cops to kick the shit out of him.
The guy on the ground was totally docile and not fighting back.. yet the cops continue to kick and punch him.
The CORRECT procedure would have been to all lay on him and cuff him. NOT stand there and kick.
-
i watched COPS (tv show) the other day, the officer couldnt find the man on the run, so he used his police dog to find him (he was hiding in the trees), it attacked him (bit him) and the officer allowed the dog to bite him multiple times while he was right next to the dog and the man was on the ground... It was ridiculous
-
Chick condones this type of behavior because he claims to be an ex-cop. He really should be more intelligent than to state this guy in the video "invited" the cops to kick the shit out of him.
that's dissapointing...the guy was on his back outnumbered...there was no need to further kick him and tase him if they wanted to they coud have put him in whatever position theywanted.. just as we have seen them do many time when tackling a criminal trying to escape, thing is this guy wasnt going anywhere
-
The problem usually lies with the Judges. The city judge I deal with is SO pro-cop and pro=prosecutor that the cops get away with so much, from this type of behavior to violations of search/seizure. Numerous defense attorneys have raised these issues in the court, but the judge just doesn't side with the defense. And generally these petty criminals don't have to funds to sue a city over the brutality of the police force.

Exactly...you didn't see the whole tape..which only makes it even more obvious, you're a lawyer in fantasyland...no lawyer worth anything would make a judgement based on a few minutes of tape, which could leave out many facts...
I'm not here debating whether or not the action was warranted....I'm bringing to light the fact hat if he simply followed command, then the rest never takes place....so yes, he " invited it" by acting like a fool, instead of simply turning over...
like the idiot we always hear about every few years that climbs over the guard rail at the zoo, and then has a lion trying to pull him rough the bars....he INVITED the action by being stupid....

Oh, look at how brave American cops are
It really takes a man to punch 15 yo girl in face, doesn't it Bob Chick ::)

police cops
-
Because police act as if they are in a constant warzone. Not all members of the citizenry are packing heat waiting to shoot at an officer. 99% of the people police officers encounters are non-criminals. In more and more precincts, police are being armed with military-style weaponry and equipment. To many people, they appear to be a legitimized taxpayer paid gang rather than public servants.
Quick personal story: I had applied to a local police agency where I was told during the official interview that they had more interest in a guy who had gotten an honorable discharge from the Army and had been serving in Iraq and Afghanistan the past 4 to 5 years. I was floored. I presumed(wrongly) that having a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, honorable discharge from the Navy, some LE work in the Coast Guard, and a former Corrections and Probation Officer would get me in a heartbeat. I easily passed all the physical and written tests. Instead, the agency wanted an Infantryman to pound the streets of a mostly upper middle class suburban neighborhood. I appreciate what servicemen do for their country, but in my opinion, combat professionals have NO business in police work.
-
Exactly...you didn't see the whole tape
Neither did you
..which only makes it even more obvious, you're a lawyer in fantasyland...no lawyer worth anything would make a judgement based on a few minutes of tape, which could leave out many facts...
Not true. Depends on the situation, depends on the lawyer, etc.
I'm not here debating whether or not the action was warranted....I'm bringing to light the fact hat if he simply followed command, then the rest never takes place....so yes, he " invited it" by acting like a fool, instead of simply turning over...
You don't know that. Depends on the cop, situation, etc.
I think most cops/ex cops tend to justify whatever action another cop does, regardless of the action.
-

to answer you SPECIFICALLY...
was it Ok? I don't know the circumstances....nor do you as you admitted...did he have a weapon? was he hostile before the tape rolled? Did he claim to have a knife, etc...leading the officers to resort to use of the taser? was he a biter...did he claim to have AIDS, and threatened to bite if they touched him?
Any of these questions would have to be answered before any of us could make a reasonable determination as to whether or not the deputies acted accordingly...what we DO know, is that NUMEROUS commands were given, and ignored...even after being tased.
The fact that you, a supposed lawyer, would not automatically ask these questions before mAking a statement based entirely on speculation and assumption...speaks volumes.

2010
The following are ten facts about crime in the
United States that will blow your mind…. #1) The city of Detroit, Michigan literally looks like a war zone and violent crime is thriving. So far this year in Detroit, car thefts are up 83%, robberies are up 50%, burglaries are up 20% and property
destruction is up 42%. #2) Lawmakers in Illinois say that violence has
become so rampant in Chicago that the National
Guard needs to be sent in. In just one night last
week seven people were killed and 18 were wounded - mostly by gunfire. In fact, there have already been 113 murders in Chicago this year. #3) The city of Phoenix, Arizona has become the car theft capital of the world as millions of illegal aliens who can’t get work have found that stealing
cars can be very profitable indeed. #4) There are approximately 12 million crimes committed in the United States every single year.
That is by far the worst in the world. No other
nation has more than about 6 million reported
crimes per year. #5) In New York City, the number of homicides in
the first quarter of the year had shot up by approximately 22 percent compared with 2009. #6) U.S. prisons are already bursting at the seams.
As you read this, there are over 2.2 million people in prison in the United States. In fact, America leads the world in the number of prisoners and in the
percentage of the population in prison. The United
States has 5% of the world’s population, but 25%
of the world’s incarcerated population. #7) U.S. law enforcement authorities claim that
there are now over 1 million members of criminal
gangs inside the country. These 1 million gang
members are responsible for up to 80% of the crimes committed in the United States each year. #8) There are over 100,000 rapes in the United States every single year. That is the highest number
for any of the countries in the United Nations. #9) According to USA Today , 58% of state and local law enforcement agencies in the United States
reported that violent criminal gangs were active in
their areas in 2008. That was up from 45% in 2004. #10) Every year, one out of every five people is a victim of a crime in the United States. No other
nation on earth has a rate that is higher.
These cops are making a difference. police brutality works

Those questions would obviously come out on direct exam, if not on cross. Obviously your LACK of having the same degree as a lawyer does is shining through or you'd know that. I have both the certificate of academy, as well as a law degree. I'm doubting you have neither.
You post about circumstances leading up to the arrest etc. Isn't it taught that if a suspect's force level comes down, the police officer's should as well?? This should ring a bell to you Chick, if indeed you graduated.
If you were still a police officer on duty, and you made those statements about "inviting" a beat down, you'd be on paid leave idiot. You really, REALLY need to think before you speak/write.
-
Chick is a prime example of what is wrong with a vast majority of police these days. Over-zealous, ultra-aggressive punks who, given a badge, think they can do as they please.
People, as well as suspects, have rights in this Country.
I guess that's what happens when you barely need an education to be an officer these days. ;D

Lets not take this out of context. That's a 19 year old girl that he punched as she was clearly interfering with the officer making an arrest. The punch was clear justified as she had grabbed him.

Chick, it doesn't matter what happened prior to the videotape, he was clearly subdued and contained. He's not complying because he's drunk and is receiving continued taser shots. There's no reasonable explanation to continue to kick, beat, and tase someone for that period of time.
The use of force has to be equal to the situation and that certainly wasn't.
-

Sorry I understood wrong... the girl that was beaten in cell at the end of video was 15?
And yes, First girl was interfering the officers work but hey, not reason to punch her LOL.
-
women think they can do anything without getting hit
Yep.
But it's not cops job to hit them... boyfriends will teach them if they see it necessary.

Exactly.
BUT, an officer can use one level higher than the force they are being confronted with. (unless you live by Chick's level, which is use any level you feel like on that given day, as you're a "cop"!)

recruiters are specialists and often have some basic knowledges in psychology. If they decide you do not fit the job, it means you certainly wouldnt fit the job. They know it better than you. There are tons of criterias (your appearance, your attitude) we cannot know from your story. Also you might well be bullshitting us with your resume. You re just butthurt cause you wanted to be one of them but cause you got rejected you re criticizing them. Wonder what would be your story if you had been selected? Hypocrit. No wonder you werent selected.

Lol...please. Were not talking about a trial....were talking about having the intelligence of not making a statement based on limited knowledge of the situation...which is what you were (allegedly) taught in the first 5 minutes of law school...
As you conveniently didn't address any of the hypothetical questions that I posted...it makes all the difference in the works as to what preceded the video in question...was he bleeding all over the place and claiming to be HIV positive? Tell you right now...I wouldnt be touching him w my hands either...the fools use that as a weapon more often than not...believing it will result in them not being touched, when in actuality, it will lead to EXACTLY what you just saw...using other means necessary.
Bottom line is still the same...comply with the command given, and there isn't a problem.
-
Boy, where to begin with "Chick".
Again, "Chick", you do not have any law degree. I do. You wouldn't have the foggiest clue what is taught in the first 5 minutes of law school.... let alone anything past a second year in college, Mr. Associate's Degree. You can muster all the arguments you want... and do all the bashing you need to, but in the end, youre completely wrong on this topic. The officer was wrong as well. You're now resorting to attacking me and your insecurity of only being a wanna-be cop and flunkee bodybuilder is rupturing to the surface.
As i've stated before, which is accurate, the guy on the ground is not using any force against the officers. Therefore, the cops shouldve just cuffed the guy and made the arrest. Instead, they continued to beat him for minutes.
Perhaps he "invited" them to do this?
"Chick", you've shown youre a moron in the past, but please, stop repeating your performance here.

Chick condones several men beating on a person that's lying on the floor, probably a similar scenario to that of the Mirage hotel.

and again...you fail to address any of the points that I've brought up...
As for any " law degree"...please...you're an anonymous guy on the internet, sky is the limit.
given your lack of ability to counter my points in a cohesive manner...I would bet against you having ANY degree, much less one in law.
To simply pretend that the only thing that matters is the few minutes of footage you can see...is ludicrous at best. Any of the points I've brought up would be more than enough to make the officers escalate the need for force...not to mention why there is more than one unit called in for backup...that alone should give you a clue that there is more than meets the eye as to the alleged actions of the man...
by trying to make yourself out to be a smart lawyer, all you've managed to do is expose yourself as either a bullshitter...or a very poor lawyer at best.

What about the appeals process? Sometimes as an attorney, you have to bite the bullet and take the appeal pro bono.
Get him/her overturned a few times on what should be very clear search/seizure issues, and I guarantee you have gained a whole lot of respect from that judge.
I don't know what state you are in, but my home state's way of appointing municipal judges and prosecutors is ridiculous, as the judge is appointed by the mayor, and the prosecutor is beholden to the local police (i.e. if the prosecutor is deemed to be "too soft" on crime, the police complain to the mayor, and oila, you have a new prosecutor).
-
Fuck the institution of police officers.
A majority of these "heroes" is simply on the other side of the very thin line that separates villains and, well, "officers of the court". They could just as easily been criminals. Power hungry assholes who don't truly care about serving the public but rather enjoy the allowances of their badges, guns and backup.
To kick this guy repeatedly in his sides and on his legs when he is clearly of no threat is pathetic and deplorable.
Chick says he should have followed commands. Give it a rest. I, too, have done formal police training (four months for the RCMP), and what I see in that video is insane and paints the officers as criminals who should have their badges taken away IMMEDIATELY.
-
THIS^^^^
Not all of them, but enough of them that it's a real problem.
Yes, enough of them that it's developed this particular culture. A very strong, very damaging culture, no doubt about it.
-
I have to admit, a lot of guys I kinda previously thought were dickheads are making some great arguments here, pro-citizen.
-
chick..paying devis advocate...
if your brother..cousin or friend or wife did something wrong and was subdued and drunk on the floor
would you stand there and let the police kick them in the head repeatedly and taser them?
would you stand there and say serve you right listen to the cops....
-
I usually agree with chick but not in this case. Those cops need to be locked up.

I've never had any family member in a situation like this...or even remotely close to it. If any of them were...I would hope they wouldn't be stupid enough to not be able to follow a simple command, which could escalate the situation into something completely avoidable....
I think most aren't smart enough to see the big picture here, which is that we don't know the circumstances which led to this altercation...tht there is back up on scene, and a reason the officers felt they needed to use force...which STILL could have been avoided had the idiot followed any one of the MULTIPLE commands given BEFORE force was used....

chick ive never been arrested or seen the inside of a cell or police station...either but even i can see what the police did there was wrong.
they could have easily dogpiled him and cuffed him easily
you didnt answer my question btw

Yes, that's exactly what I would do...tell them to stop resisting, as any interference would only escalate the situation even further...now BOTH of you would be in the shit.
You think what you see is wrong..but you have no idea as to any of the hypotheticals I posted...or what led to this action...that's my entire point...which you STILL don't seem to get.

exactly my point...you're right, you dont crucify him for spitting on the sidewalk...you crucify him for making a routine, simple procedure into one that was completely unnecessary.
same logic applies....
cop: excuse me sir...would you mind not spitting on the sidewalk?
Jerk off: fuck you, Pig...you don't tell me what to do...I'll spit wherever and whenever I want...
Once again...a simple, No problem, Sir...would have sufficed...everyone moves on with their day
Rambo treated the cops with respect. All he wanted was a meal. And look how they treated him(sure its just a movie but not far from how some cops act) How many video's of bad cops do we all need to see to realize there's a problem.

They don't want people smarter than them. They love people in the military because they can follow orders and follow a chain of command.

The court system is an utter and complete dog and pony show for the elite to rip off the have-nots or lock them in cages. Its fixed.

Here's a stat I posted elsewhere.
In the height of Stalin's reign in the Communist USSR, where he was sending people to the Gulags, there was 20 people per 100,000 incarcerated for NON-VIOLENT crime... Today, in the DEMOCRATIC USA, we incarcerate 19.7 people per 100,000 for NON-VIOLENT crimes.
Think about THAT.
