Just as worthless as the Democrats, maybe even moreso given their recent proposals. Leave the middle man in charge to deny, deny, deny and profit off of human suffering.
What a joke.

TA, have you ever thought about truly getting involved in politics, other than posting random links on getbig?
Maybe run for some local office, then move up.

My campaign slogan would be "I Hate Stupid People" and on the bottom would be "Which is pretty much everyone".
So I would not win anything.

You should hire Vince Goodrum, CSN, MFT, HHP, CEO, as your campaign manager.

The only people that like Obama care are the millions who were suddenly eligible for medicaid that previously weren't. Middle class working families are being forced to buy insurance that costs more than their monthly mortgage bill for insurance they can't use because of the high deductible. Tired of the close to 30 million newly eligible for (welfare insurance) called medicaid. Premiums are rising at an incredible rate. Insurance companies are dropping out in droves because they can't turn a profit. Soon there is a rising rate of fines as time goes on for people who don't get insurance. Imagine your whole tax return not coming because you didn't pay for outrageously priced insurance? People lost their doctors who didn't participate in the new Obama care plan they were forced to buy. Others on average saw their premium go up 5K a year. The architect of Obama care is even caught on tape saying people will go for Obama care because they are stupid. How did we manage before Obama? It was a hell of a lot better situation than we are in now with Obamacare.
The new bill will eliminate the mandate that everyone has to buy insurance. That's a start. It will limit the welfare Medicaid back to the old standards. No medicaid isn't free. Someone has to pay that bill and it's the dwindling ranks of the American workers taxes. Estimated costs of Obama care is one Trillion dollars. The is a bill that America can't pay.

the original proposed obamacare was actually a good plan that got chopped to bits until it passed.
As for the Trillion, give me a fucking break. They spend that yearly on military spending alone on shit. This country hemorages money

Although I don't think pretty much everyone is stupid, I still think someone has zero chances in politics if they don't appeal to the masses.
I have the feeling most of them are atheist but you still hear them talk about religion all the time, even Trump does it.
The logic in some of their claims is messed up, but they will repeat them over and over again. Sometimes the really believe they're right, sometimes they know they're wrong but won't admit it. As long as it sounds pretty, they will say it.
That's pretty much the definition of demagogy: replace what works for what sounds pretty.

I agree TA.

As an outsider looking in, your healthcare system is pretty shitty... How come "poor" euro countries can manage to provide a free at the point of entry health care, you must pay next to no tax or if you are, what does it go on?
-
Just as worthless as the Democrats, maybe even moreso given their recent proposals. Leave the middle man in charge to deny, deny, deny and profit off of human suffering.
What a joke.
Could not agree more. I stated on here yesterday the need to get rid of the money making health industry and go single payer. Healthcare will never be affordable and people widely covered with the corporations lining their pockets.
Only thing that annoys me about national healthcare is when people call it "free" ::)

To the outsider, most of your nations set prices which we don't do. Even when your people are covered by private insurance companies, those companies pay rates that have been set by the government (e.g., Switzerland). In addition to the fact that we may be somewhat less healthy because of obesity and bad eating (although you tend to smoke more), our biggest problem is runaway provider prices. Our hospitals keep building fancier and fancier hospitals out into the most affluent suburbs and our doctors tend to live higher on the hog than yours do. In addition, we subsidize you to a certain extent. We pay extremely high drug prices while yours are capped by your governments. What that means is that we are funding world-wide research and development out of our pockets.
Our insurance companies try to negotiate down prices paid to our providers, but they are not very good at it. Your governments set the prices, but we call that "socialism".
Obamacare at least has attempted to provide universal access to health care (based on the philosophy that health care coverage is more of a right than a privelege) but you can see from the comments above (e.g., on Medicaid) that Americans tend to have more of a sink or swim attitude than your countries do. We expect people to fend more for themselves.

A good write up but coverage does not equal care.
Many who got "coverage" still couldn't afford it due to co-pays and deductibles.

More reason to go to Single Payer. Luckily there is a growing number on the right coming to this conclusion.

some of my relatives premiums doubled in one years that is there reward for going to work everyday and paying taxes

Yep, you can thank President Obama for that one.

People's health should not be a profit center.
-
People's health should not be a profit center.
This.
I think it should be set up with Single Payer and then let the shitty bottom feeder Insurance companies compete with that. Republicans and morons who think that the private insurance can do better are more than welcome to waste their money on it.
Why would they be against that solution is beyond me.

Then start winning elections for once and learn that crippling the middle class with exorbitant insurance costs is probably not the best political move.

I don't think letting the poor suffer without healthcare and giving a tax break to the top 1 percent is going to do much for it either.
Weren't the Republicans in the exact same boat a few years back which is why we have crappy ass Obamacare in the first place, which ended up also being a big boon to the healthcare insurance companies.

You haven't been reading the testimonials of fellow getbiggers who have seen their premiums double, triple and quadruple since the horrendous law Obamacare was put into place?
Democrats live in complete denial in regards to the hurt they have inflicted upon this country.

Preach it bru...
5% of the population cause 50% of the health care costs in the U.S.
So explain to me why I should pay one cent for the 600 lb fat fuck who spends 6 months a year in the hospital, has $1,000 a month in prescriptions, and has daily nurse visits?
Fuck Obama, Obamacare, and any idiot who would support it!!!!

I have, I didn't think Obamacare was great myself. It didn't affect me too much, but that's me... I've always said that. Maybe I'm special and it just didn't impact me as much as it did everyone else.
Although, with the getbiggers being a bunch of millionaire's I expect they can survive a little extra tax for helping the poor people live longer.
Let's not joke for a second and be real, isn't the absolute most cost effective method for healthcare, in reality, single payer? Everyone pays in and the cost is what it is.
Isn't a big part of the problem the fact that the insurance companies are again, as I've stated, a profit center on the backs of people's health?

It may be that 5% of the population cause 50% of the health care costs, but that's not a 600 lb fat fuck... Most of the cost is for old people and babies. They are the most sick and you can judge a society by how they protect their elders.
I'll leave it at that.

I agree as well....you deal your cards in life deal with it...no free handouts...when I'm backed in a corner and have to make sacrifices to survive I do it...i don't ask for help...close family I've had to In the past...need to get rid of this "victim" status or help Me help me attitude...i was raised that way...

Let's talk about single payer. Say the GOP made their plan single payer. Where will you go when you're injured ? Hospital right? Did you know American hospitals are private. In single payer countries the hospitals are gov funded. Here in the USA kaiser, sharp, Scripps etc are all private. They exist because of the deal they have with insurance companies and bullshit things they charge for. Enabling single payer also means buying out all hospitals. Doctors who are getting millions of dollars won't anymore. Think they'll want to stick around ?

wrong . the main difference between US healthcare and the majority of european countries is that we don't have insurance companies taking a huge chunk out of the pie.
it's not exactly rocket science. what's cheaper paying directly to healthcare providers or paying insurance companies to pay providers after taking a fat cut for themselves.
for the % of gdp the US spends on healthcare you should have the best universal healthcare system in the world.
-
I have yet to read much of the above, but I get VA medical benefits so I know absolutely nothing about any other US Health Care Plan ... But ...
I help fiends with their US Federal Taxes (which I know a lot about) and have recently discovered (using Turbotax - which is a damn good federal tax program by the way) that if an individual is not covered by any health insurance program, the IRS will require that individual to pay something like $80 for each month of the year that he does not have health insurance.
The above estimated figure is based on one individual tax-payer with no dependents so it will increase based on one's marriage situation and number of dependents. (That estimated figure ... I have forgotten.)
But the $80 monthly health insurance payment does not seem excessive to me.
And that is all I know about health insurance within the USA.
What am I missing here?
Is there some average monthly fee that the majority of USA citizens caN afford to pay each month? And how many US companies pay some part of this monthly health fee on behalf of their employees?
I are dumb when it comes to this health insurance topic.
-

Agree. It is somehow morally ok that the government wants to take from us to give to others. It is not. They degrade those who do provide so they can no longer provide as well for their own families, etc.
-

you have a great point there, i worked in a hospital for several years, saw the same people all the time. if you take care of yourself you basically get fucked and have to pay for something you barely use
-
When it comes to health care, making profits shouldn't come before peoples lives...
Easier said than done. Unfortunately, medicine is pretty expensive.
It takes A LOT of money to send someone to medical school, wheter the family or the goverment is paying for it.
You need buildings, doctors, medical equipment (x rays, dialysis machines, etc), nurses, janitors, guards, etc, etc, etc. They all have to be paid.
And Health Professionals HAVE TO charge a lot. They are highly intelligent, conscientiousness individuals who have invested so much time and money, and create so much value by diagnosing and treating diseases. They're not dime a dozen, moderate supply and high demand = high prices.
I'm not saying universal healthcare is wrong, but I don't think the subject it's as easy as some people/politicians claim it is.
-
If you're family elders get sick, why should I pay for their care?
It's called living in society.
Why should I pay for your fear of outside people taking over the country?
Same thing. I pay for defense even though I don't think it's worth what we pay. I pay for roads I don't drive on. I pay for all kinds of things I don't use.
It's called living in a society.
What sort of myopic question is that? You can use that question in almost every thing the government does.
-
I'm now in my late 50's. I started my hazardous area controls system business many years ago, working in the oil and gas industries, and sold a majority of equity to a big firm a few years ago in a multi million £ deal. I retain a minority share and I am making a huge dividend because they diversified into whiskey and gin distillery opportunities which are thriving. I have a 5500 square foot house in Scotland and a 4000 square foot house in Florida which I am aloud to spend 3 months at a time in.
I pay taxes in the UK which allows everyone to gain free medical care. I do not grudge a single penny because my employees and their children benefit. I fully understand that 90% of the worlds population are lazy and lack ambition but if we didn't have healthy workers willing to take $12 and hour we capitalists would not have a workforce.
Incidentally, a person earning $50,000 a year in the UK pays around 25% total tax (tax and national insurance) so we are not a high tax economy. Doctors make around $150,000 a year. If they want more there is a thriving private patient industry here.
Bottom line, Americans (and I consider myself one for a quarter of each year) are complete mugs for allowing the ruling classes to rip them off. 200 years ago a lot of clever Scots settled in America (Carnegie and Pilkerton etc) and they worked out a way to fleece the common idiot. It still goes on today.

The other funny thing is that these people don`t realize that they ALREADY ARE PAYING FOR EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!! How the hell do they think Private Insurance works?
The level of stupidity is astounding.

Sure it is. Take the competition out of health care and you totally remove the "care" part. Comparing a country that has a 1/3 of population of the US and thinking it's going to work here is an utterly retarded concept. Socialism doesn't and won't ever work and has failed miserably time and time again. Done. Jesus Christ.
-
EXACTLY.
And don't vote for trump then post a video of that whack job Sanders. If you think his philosophy is better than what I just posted of Friedman, then you have issues.
It's like graduating with an degree in Econ from UCLA then voting for Sanders. It's beyond logic and shows the agenda of the University(ies)
-
Health care mAde simple. If you want the government to regulate it, i.e. pay for it with the tax dollars of hard working Americans. Then this should be the rules. If you are an alcoholic drug addicted asshole then zero coverage. Fuck you, nobody really care about you. If your a female and your knees are so far apart your vagina is open from spread out pussy lips waiting for dick, then fuck off. If you are a black bastard still crying about slavery and hooked on drugs, fuck you too.
In other words if you are working and doings so everyday then you have a voice. F not then go fuck yourself.

Population DOES NOT FUCKING MATTER. Its spending per capita, per person that matters. How do you not understand that? And you call yourself a fiscal conservative. Give me a break. :D

Trump happens to support SINGLE PAYER as Bernie does. He told the Australian Prime Minister just this week that their Healthcare System is better than ours and probably better than what is proposed.
Want me to post all the videos of Trump supporting Single Payer Healthcare?

You can post a million videos if you want, he obviously didn't propose it while putting this latest one together where he was personally involved in the negotiations.
I don't and probably you don't know the details of Australias health care systems. I'm sure the context of what he was saying was compared to Obamacare in which I agree. Obamacare was based on a TOTAL lie.
-

Quite correct.
It is fiscally conservative to support lowering the cost as a whole and having a stronger more capable to work nation because of it.
The more healthy people are, the more productive they are.

Population DOES NOT FUCKING MATTER. Its spending per capita, per person that matters. How do you not understand that? And you call yourself a fiscal conservative. Give me a break. :D
What I don't call myself is a socialist and yes, total population does matter. But go ahead and fight for your cause.
-
This is good. Finally making these guys take some accountability, though they are so rich it won't really matter to them except being "bothersome" in reality:

It still goes on today.
when you read threads like this you realise how dim the average american is. it's like listening to the gun control debate. the solution is ridiculously simple but the masses are hoodwinked by multi billion $ industries.
you do not need insurance companies in the mainstream healthcare system. they're just a very expensive and unnecessary middle man.
-
Sure it is. Take the competition out of health care and you totally remove the "care" part. Comparing a country that has a 1/3 of population of the US and thinking it's going to work here is an utterly retarded concept. Socialism doesn't and won't ever work and has failed miserably time and time again. Done. Jesus Christ.
Move along, the adults are having a discussion.
-
Look no further than the VA for an example of Government ran health care without competition. Luckily Trump changed that as well.

All he did was allow the people to go to a private hospital if they live in a more rural area where there's no VA hospital.
The plan, the service, the payment, and the administration are still completely the VA.
So what exactly did Trump eliminate?
Answer.
Nothing.
It's over your head though. Well, because you're you.

That's pretty good considering you probably didn't even know this existed before I posted it. It gives them a choice as before they were stuck in basically a death system. It's really not hard to figure you out. Even though you call yourself a "Libertarian" you fall well to the left of center while trying to come off unbiased. You're for a single payer system (socialist) youre for legalizing all drugs, etc etc. I'm sure there are shit load of other agendas that would place in a category of left which you fight on issues that clearly would never work in country of 320+ million people. For fucks sake you voted for that dimwit Gary Johnson.

Actually. I knew more about it than you did before you posted.
I'm for letting the market decide what's right. The market if left to its own devices on healthcare would crumble. That's just reality.
That's just reality. Being for legalizing drugs is a completely libertarian stance and not left at all.
It's more fiscally responsible than you or the democrats because it would stop pushing money into a failed war on drugs.
You're a false conservative. Let's pump money into wars. Pump money into the police state. Pump money into healthcare in the form of the illusion of capitalism. All of which are expensive and take more of your money.
For a self perported Christian you surely don't act very Christ like and for the most part have nothing aligned with Christianity except for you enjoying calling yourself one.
You can't argue a single thing I've stated.
On healthcare a health nation is a more productive one. No argument from you.
On drugs. You can't argue my points.
Keep on talking about my politics doesn't change yours. You're the one fooling yourself with false conservativism. Not me.
Johnson has more intelligence while high than you will ever have. He was a successful governor and by all accounts was quite good at his job.
Talking shit about Johnson doesn't fix your fuckups though. You're the one who keeps wanting someone else to fix something instead of doing it yourself.
Whined about a President for 8 fucking years. Still whining. I can't wait to see how much more whining about a President you're doing well into 2020.
Keep it up.

Allowing people choices and to goto private hospital is a really good thing. These poor Vets had to drive for hours to get shitty services and take all day.

Gary Johnson would still be a million times better than Hillary or anything the Democrats have to put up but damn, I sure hope The Libertarian Party can find somebody with better campaigning skills to lead their platform going forward.

Then start winning elections for once and learn that crippling the middle class with exorbitant insurance costs is probably not the best political move.
I agree
middle class and lower/upper class should all have non-exorbitant health insurance
now all we have to agree on is how to collect and spend money (you know for the country as a whole)
we all want the same thing
right?

Yeah, and you notice how I changed my personal text away from your comment on "clip magazine"?
Because I know it bothered you and I'm not here to hurt or antagonize my fellow getbiggers.
But after seeing the way the corrupt DNC treated Bernie and the progressive wing, it will be a long time before they ever get my support.
A change is needed from the top down!

all trump did was expand the VA system which is government funded. so i suppose that shows you can have choice in healthcare even when state funded.
oh but it's insurance company choice you really want! LOL

Trump has been campaigning hard for election money for 2020. Already has collected over 20 million. Now I'm pretty sure all that money is going to Kusher and Ivanka, but still.

Guess what,
Trump is NOT going to run in 2020. He will have had enough by then and his re-election will be way more difficult than the one he just had against Hillary. Trump is not in to playing games where he thinks he will not win. Plus, he will be a 75 year old man with nothing more left to prove. I doubt he wants to spend the last years of his life not doing as he pleases as he always has done. 4 years will be enough for him, mark my words.
Any money raised is on behalf of Reince Prebius and company and will go to whoever picks up the mantle and most importantly, the fundraising is being used to keep Republicans in the House and Senate in upcoming elections.
This is so obvious that I have no idea why people keep going on about Trump2020. Its not going to happen because he will have no interest in making it happen, leaving the White House 80 years old. Yeah right. ::)

Holy shit... can I just get my old freakin' heathcare plan back?
The one I had for 20 friggin years that covered what I needed, not what I didn't and I didn't have to donate blood to afford.

People are going on about Trump 2020 because Trump has personally said it himself numerous times.

I honestly don't see why he wants the headache NOW.
I would imagine it's a huge pain in the ass.

Power and money. He's setting up his beloved daughterwife Ivanka and Kushner for decades to come.

That is surely possible. Being President does give your kids a legacy and it does give them power for a long, long time.
Look at the Kennedy's and how involved they still are.

More reason to go to Single Payer. Luckily there is a growing number on the right coming to this conclusion.
Unfortunately, not one elected member of the right is ever going to come to this conclusion.
