Did your kid wind up taking the football scholarship to U. Kentucky or did he go to the Coast Guard Academy?

Insane lefties. Honestly are they trolling or just truly retarded?

Can someone explain this thread to me? Coach puts up a title of send your kids to trade school then puts a link up about insane liberals saying the chimney soot on the face of chimney sweeps is racist. What is the correlation between the two? Lost.

The new fad... seeing racism in EVERYTHING.
It's cool, it's hip, even groovy.

We never see protests at trade schools, as the saying goes. There is a bombardment of unnecessary and purposely divisive leftist indoctrination advanced at colleges.
-
Do you recon every white English person you encounter secretly hates you and wishes you'd go back home? Just wondering.
well considering i "secretly" wish they were all dead, even if they are thinking that, i still win!
on a serious note. half of my family are white english so i would hope not every white person is thinking that! but tbh i really don't give a fk what anyone i encounter thinks. if they want to make their feelings known we'll take it from there, if not they can think anything the fk they want it ain't gonna affect my life one iota.

It is surprising that commercial was able to be made, even five short years ago. SJWs have thoroughly infiltrated every corner of influence, including advertising.
"What do SJW's want to achieve? Their goal is power and domination over the Western culture narrative to manufacture a consensus that is aligned with their extreme far-left ideology. Since their ideas are so far removed from science, logic, and reason, this requires a complete control of information to disseminate their world view along with the complete silencing of those who contradict them."

Man, you're fucking dumb! Thread title is "Send your kids to trade school"......cuz he means it
First post with Mary Poppins link is to illustrate left agenda taught at universities. i.e. - don't waste time/money at university learning shit. Go to trade school, save money, and start working. It's not that hard to follow mang!
Daily life must be hella difficult for you to get thru.

Let you kids choose their own path. Success is defined by doing what you love. The money may or may not follow. But then, money does buy happiness and neither does poverty.

Took me a while to remember how to do, but remove the s after http from your link when paste it between what YT icon above the emojis creates, and your YT posts should work from now on Coach.
It's a shame that this commercial would have cost over $25M to air during the Super Bowl, because it is epic. This commercial is America!

A general statement of "send your children to trade school" is an idiotic statement, considering we still need people to attend college/university in order to become doctors, nurses, social workers, engineers, teachers, biologists, chemists, physicists, speech-language pathologists, etc.
A better statement is, "If you attend college/university, make sure you pick a practical career." Basically, stay away from many of the humanities that indoctrinate the students with a specific ideology.
-
Truly retarded
It's retarded for you to think this.
-
I think there are two sides to this issue. We need to get back to having viable, practical trade schools. Back in the 60's my dad went to trade school to be a tool and die maker for Ford Motor Company. His two years of trade school also handed him an associates degree.
It would be nice after two years of trade school to be able to either go right into the work force or if you desire more schooling, to be half way home to a bachelors degree.
No matter what, whether it's college or trade school, the price of education needs to come down.

We still need roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, framers, ironworkers, Ditch diggers, contractors, heavy equipment operators, farmers, etc etc etc. careers like this need to be pushed more not less and not demeaned by the left and looked down on.

You really have reading comprehension problems. I NEVER said the above occupations are not warranted or needed.
But, you stated "send your kids to trade school," as if no students should ever attend college/university. You obviously need both.

And, as my step-dad once told me, no matter what you choose as an occupation, it never hurts to also have a trade. I am a journeyman painter who used this trade as a stopgap when unemployed. It also saved money when fixing up my homes. -Never hired a painter until recently. On the downside, their work was not up to my high standards so I ended up letting them go and finishing the job myself.

It's a great post, but there's no way teachers or social workers can avoid the ideology being pushed currently.
Science fields should be able to easily avoid it since shit is based on facts and data as long as they pick their electives carefully. If biology, physiology, and anatomy textbooks start acknowledging this "as many genders as you want there to be" stuff, then all hope is lost.

I was going to say something about either the electives or the pre-requisites required for each of those fields.

cc trade >trade $chool
also apprentice/helper>trade $chool

humanities:
- likely poorly paid.
- probably won't remain stupid enough to be happy.
+ If you're smart (probably aren't), good chance your life won't be shit.
practical trades:
- near guarantee your life will be shit
+ possibly well paid
+ likely too stupid to be unhappy

What morons like you fail to understand is not everyone wants or can be a doctor, nurse, social worker etc. Some humans have talents for working with their hands and others are good with numbers or abstract concepts, writings etc. It is absolutely moronic to think everyone can go to college.
We actually need more plumbers, electricians, carpenters, factory workers etc. People that know how to make shit and fix shit.
Fact is "Universities" are breeding grounds for anti-white, self hating regressive left professors. They are useless. White kids will be better off skipping that brainwashing hatred of themselves completely. I know lots of guys that never went to college that are financially much better off than their friends that went to college to obtain a useless degree. They have homes, pensions, earn a good salary, get health care etc. Many people with fancy degrees don't have pensions.

Exactly. The left is demeaning these professions because they can't brainwash them. They want them in college so they can get their claws on them and steal their money, brainwash them to hate anything white or Christian, accept anything abnormal like homosexuality, transgenders etc. Until these regressive left professors are removed from campuses nothing will change. They need to be removed. The left needs to be destroyed completely.

Ever been to job sites? Lots of white guys on them. White guys built the USA - this is a fact. Forget what that mongrel Obama said. It was fake news. White guys built this shit. The building you sit in reading this message was probably built by a white guy. Without white men this world would have looked a lot more primitive today. White men are actually the greatest thing that ever befell humanity. The useless and ungrateful non whites are too cowardly to admit it.
-
Basically any tradeschool job will lead to you being looked down upon by a college graduate and treated poorly by them, thus reinforcing the notion that liberals are above conservatives on the social hierarchy. So how is this a good idea again?

Factory workers are becoming obsolete. I'm not sure we need more of them standing in the unemployment line. Many people don't have pensions regardless of their occupation. building trades people are often subcontractors and as such, it is unlikely they have pensions. Just curious, are you college educated? You talk like you know how things work in a college environment. This usually requires first hand experience.

Prime,
Distribution and warehousing are today's equivalent to manufacturing jobs. There's plenty of them. Don't pay as much as unionized machine workers would/do make, but there's plenty of them.

you cant expect jay cutler to run his warehouse by himself (eventhough it looks like he is a lot of the time on youtube)

I love when he talks about the "expansion" of his company. He moved it outta his garage, and rented what looks to be a former auto repair garage business. Expansion and re-location are not the same.
Are you as shocked as I am that all his vids seem to have 10k+ views? The only ones I've ever watched thru are with that Dr. from Cali. Really good info. I actually inquired about being a patient, but IIRC it's $800 just for initial consultation and then like $400 just to have him monitor bloodwork every 6 months....no meds included. Fuck that! Other than that it's click....."oh, he's just gonna talk about himself again...nevermind"...exit. :(

I asked the guy that delivered my last shipment of Six Star Whey, and he said he was an actual employee but he thought there were others that were 1099ers. Working in their distribution center would absolutely be direct employees. I think they'd have a really hard time getting people to work in their warehouse on a 1099 basis. If a person got hurt, who would they go after for worker's comp? Not to mention the fact it would be hard to hold anyone to a schedule.

Maybe I used the wrong term. By distribution personnel, I meant delivery drivers, not warehouse or distribution center employees. I'm waiting for the time when a drone delivers me a product. That would be so cool. It would need to be small enough to fit under my front porch.

College is rapidly becoming a waste of time. When everyone has a degree, nobody does. It's becoming the new high school diploma. Many places won't even hire you if don't have a college diploma because they prize their worthless major diploma so dearly. Too many kids are graduating with no means of employment with their degree in serious debt from student loans. I told my kids to if their college degree doesn't have their occupation printed on the diploma then they wasted their time. Two of them are doing amazing following my advice. One didn't. He let the drummer of his band decide his major but while he started on the bottom rung he is rapidly advancing and none of it is due to college.
We have welders, electricians, plumbers and many other trades like counter top guys making well over 100K with no student loan debt. The Vietnam nail salon guy in town drives to work in a 7 series BMW when he doesn't take his new Acura MDX SUV. The pizza store owner lives on the water in a very expensive house. Meanwhile the car rental place near my house won't employ you to rent cars unless you have a college degree. A college degree to work the cash register?

Factory workers are obsolete? Tell that to China. Because of their slave wage labor and our horrific trade deals China is stealing our wealth and building a massive military off the theft. Hopefully these trade deals will be rectified and manufacturing will come back to the US. When I was a kid the factory next to me employed men who owned a house and took care of a family on their factory jobs.

I agree with you on these companies that require college degrees for work that could be given to high school kids. All of these new graduates with worthless degrees walk around with puffed out chests because they just graduated with their Gender Studies degree. It's sad that smart kids who want to get right to work can't get in these companies or ever get promoted because they don't have a worthless degree.

Mr. Vince Goodrum, CSN, MFT, HPP, CEO, is a testament of the success one could obtain with a college degree.

In practical terms, I agree with you 100%.
The problem really comes down to an old adage.
Everyone wants to be a chief and nobody wants to be an indian.
For example, my dear old buddy Bix ( posts here sometimes) is a master electrician.
Had his own business and made a decent living...when he worked hard.
As he got older, he dreaded crawling under houses and climbing on roofs.
Jobs , even skilled ones that include manual labor are tough, tedious work.
Like old Rocky told the guy in the employment office who advised him to keep prize fighting ;
"You ever get punched in the face 100x ? It starts to sting after awhile.
I'd like to make aliving sitting down now, ya know, like you over there."
Telling someone to do a tough labor intensive job is like telling 'em to go fight in a war.
It sounds good...as long as the OTHER guy is doing it.
The point is to get to a supervisory position by the time you get older so you don’t have to do the dirty work anymore.
You should send your kids to trade school if they have an aptitude for the trade and like it. Most of your soft liberal types would not last a day as an assistant plumber or on a construction site.

If some employers won't hire anyone who doesn't have a bachelor's degree, college isn't a waste of time, it's a pretty much a necessity unless you plan on self-employment only. This is too bad since getting a four year degree is expensive. Teachers are expected to get a master's degree and yet they aren't particularly well paid. Many of the trades people I've worked with have college degrees, although I'm not sure why they need them. Do you know for sure that the pizza store owner and the fellow who works as a manicurist do not have college degrees?
How do you know none of your son's success in his work has nothing to do with his having a degree?
Without a doubt there are better school systems in other countries such a Germany which offers many different options most of them at no tuition costs. http://www.ukgermanconnection.org/german-school-system

The liberal arts part of college is a waste of time and money. If you want to read English literature, just read English literature. Why do you have to go to college to do this?

I really disliked taking all the prerequisites, as I did not find many of them useful for my degree. I eventually graduated with a Media degree with a minor in Archaeology.
Granted, I work at Auto Zone now, but I am still glad I got the degree.

Nonsense. Becoming a successful journeyman trades person has nothing to do with one's politics or views. It has everything to do with their innate skills and ambition.

Nonsense. Becoming a successful journeyman trades person has nothing to do with one's politics or views. It has everything to do with their innate skills and ambition.
Isn’t that what I said? Did the snow exacerbate your senility?
-
Isn’t that what I said? Did the snow exacerbate your senility?
Okay, you had me for a second. Actually, only part of it is what you said. You also suggested liberals are ill-suited to work as trades people, which is nonsense.
-
A lot of those jobs also depend if you get a BA, MA, or Doctoral degree.
Someone with a BA in Social Work will make like 50K. Someone with a PhD in Social Work, can probably hit 6 figures, depending on what they do.
My friend is a graphic designer (has a BA in Film Studies), worked his way up, now he makes between 130 to 150k.
You are absolutely right, positions requiring a MA or Doctoral degree are generally higher paying. Moreover, wages vary from one field to another.
-
In practical terms, I agree with you 100%.
Like old Rocky told the guy in the employment office who advised him to keep prize fighting ;
Here’s the thing, Howard. Most who start out in the construction trades know and realize they can’t keep up the labor work throughout their careers but there are advancements such as site management, superintendents, etc then there are those that wind up getting their contractors license to start their own businesses. I spent almost 20 years total in the commercial roofing industry including obtaining my C-39. The opportunities are endless

WTF :o...Pump the brakes here Prime! This list is shit. First of all, it proves every one saying an artsy farts degree is shit right.
Secondly, what is the source? It is surely left-biased, as it's taken from a site you read (not a dis, it's just what you gravitate toward), and also look at the fucking ranges on some of these things ...Archaeologist: Annual salary: $40,000 to $171,000....yeah, that's an insanely high demand field there...here's a site devoted and biased to the number of them and BEST case scenario is that there's roughly 17,000..... IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY https://dougsarchaeology.wordpress.com/2014/06/18/how-many-archaeologists-are-in-the-us-more-than-a-couple-less-than-there-should-be/
Stating that they can make $171,000/yr...LOL!!! Sure. We both like dogs so I'll give you a scenario that probably equates to the odds of that....out of 17,000 pure bred black lab puppies 100 of them will have some markings on them. That's not good likelihood, it's a fucking anomaly! Here's the reality https://work.chron.com/annual-salary-rookie-archaeologist-3522.html
"Beginning Salaries
According to the Society for American Archaeology, a beginning field assistant with a bachelor’s degree in archaeology typically earns an average of $10 to $12 per hour. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that archaeologists in the bottom 10 percent bracket in 2011 earn $32,160 annually, while those in the bottom 25 percent earn $41,120. Those beginning their careers could expect to earn within this range. The same data shows that the median annual wage for archaeologists is $50,070, while the top 25 percent earn $74,100. Those with Ph.D.s who have not yet reached the pinnacle of their careers can expect to fall within this range.
Finally, since when in the holy heck did economics, HR, an PR stop being in schools of business? I'll give you sociology, and even archaeology as "arts" just for giggles; but psychology is absolutely science based.....do artsy emotional wanna change the world people gravitate to it? You bet, but they're learning and studying science based information and facts.
Yes, you can earn a bachelors of arts degree with a major in those things...but the "tracks" for those majors are either in business or science classes. WTF? Why didn't they just go balls deep on this list of Arts Degree Jobs and add Forensic Accountants? Those fuckers are smart, and can do magical shit with numbers and money that no one else would have a clue about. Let's call them "Art Majors" when they fudge corporate numbers, because they are actually really fucking creative....and being creative is an art. :P
Good lord my friend! Sometimes it's like going into battle with you as a comrade, and while hiking though Afghanistan you're like "look at how neat that land over there looks with all the little bumps all over the place. So majestic. Let's go take a stroll, have a look, and admire the beauty!"
"No...Prime....come back...those are land m......(EXPLOSIONS)" :'(

There is no way they can accurately say what the average writer or artist makes because most make nothing at all and a few make millions. Writer and artist are usually the titles of the unemployed.

So true. Good post.
-
In practical terms, I agree with you 100%.
Like old Rocky told the guy in the employment office who advised him to keep prize fighting ;
"You ever get punched in the face 100x ? It starts to sting after awhile.

Good post. Not everyone can be the chief.
Yes, crawling around installing ductwork or piping is no fun. It's the grunt work just like doing bank reconciliations and comparing invoices is for rookie accountants and preparing/researching briefs is for rookie lawyers.
Granted, doing tedious bank recs is not physically demanding but will drive you nuts if you did it for 30 years.
The answer to this is becoming the boss someday. The apprentice electrician becomes the master and has 10 techs doing the grunt work. The rookie accountant becomes the partner with 5 junior doing the crap work while he meets with the client.
Staying a grunt is for those who like being a grunt or have reached their limit of talent.
If you are a one-man show (your buddy Bix?) you will always have to do the grunt work. Some people are not good at delegating and managing.
Not everybody can do it but that goes for anything.

Did your kid wind up taking the football scholarship to U. Kentucky or did he go to the Coast Guard Academy?

Your reply is completely overboard. I copied and pasted that info. I neither endorse it nor discredited it. If the source is left biased, that's coincidental because I simply posted the first thing that came up on the subject. You are entitled to your opinion. I wasn't and am not interested in debating it.
Although I'm college educated, I never sought a degree. This left me open to taking whatever courses interested me, which was mostly theater and writing. And, I paid as I went which wasn't much since tuition was an employee benefit and my wife worked there. None of it had anything to do with career preparation. Unfortunately, education on this basis is a luxury few can afford today.

First off, why the hell would you copy and paste something that long that you "neither endorse" "nor discredit"? So essentially, you went on the interweb, searched "proof that liberal arts degrees are worth it", and then copied and pasted information that you have no opinion about, or belief in whatsoever? Next time, just search something random that has no relevance at all to the thread like, "what is the most popular pony owned by rich democrats?" At least we'll learn something from it, have a good laugh, and it'll likely be more accurate than this list you posted.
Secondly, I didn't go overboard. Good gosh...how many posts of mine have you read. Word-wise, what I actually typed was pretty concise for me compared to my norm, and I was actually trying to go easy on you while still getting my frustration across. Trust me, if I go overboard you'll look back on this one and think "that's one of the nicest things he's ever said to me" ;) I copied links (which you forgot to provide), and pasted them along with portions of information that were relevant and refuted the nonsensical figures that were contained in your list that you have no opinion on one way or the other.
Finally, the last part was just trying to illustrate that I, and many of the rest us like you, and take the time to read your posts out of respect as a fellow GetBigger. on a serious note. half of my family are white english so i would hope not every white person is thinking that! but tbh i really don't give a fk what anyone i
Really, is that why U a so anti British, anti American & anti Polynesian & totally silent about Islam ::)

A U aware that creator of suppinator was teaching at technical school because gym was making too "much" money.
Just don't ask why was he fired ;)

Graduates
Where's the one for liberal arts graduates.
Ya know, the first row of pics from what you posted, and the bottom row three stoners on bean bags playing x-box with an air quote over their heads reading "Didn't they see my degree? I was clearly the best applicant...fuckin fascists"
-
First off, why the hell would you copy and paste something that long that you "neither endorse" "nor discredit"?
However, it's sometimes painstaking for us to keep trying to save you from yourself so often. I just tried to make that apparent while being funny about it. Apparently, you were not amused. :-\
One thought...Don't bother "trying to save me from myself." You are not my guardian angel. ::)

More cold temperatures are supposedly coming our way. I'll believe it when I see it. Daffodils and Fall Crocuses are leafing out in the garden. I'm waiting for any danger of frost to pass so I can prune the Hydrangeas.

When Basile posted that term, I could have sworn I'd heard it before. Maybe I'm senile or maybe he didn't invent safety fat. Folks say he lives in a warehouse. Question is, is it one of the those upscale conversions to condos or is it an over-sized storage shed? The bicep supination machine looks real. Not sure anyone ever bought one though.

I'm not going to quote you, because hopefully this post bumps the thread to a new page so I never have to see those pics again.

Republicans/conservatives are losing the cultural "war" and will continue to do so.
Colleges and universities and Fortune 500 companies are overwhelmingly liberal and control the narrative. As the old school republicans die out and millennials continue to take over, republicans/conservatives are going to really be screwed. They better prepare for changing their values and beliefs!!

Yes I am college educated.
Many carpenters, plumbers, electricians etc. belong to unions and have pensions. The companies they work for does subcontracting work however they have pensions. It makes no difference if they are working for a contractor or subcontractor. What makes you think they would not have pensions? Lone subcontractors and handy men might not have pensions but many guys that do commercial work for small to medium sized businesses do.
I know electricians with huge homes and even vacation homes! Those guys are making good money.
Some of these guys can retire at 60 but work till 65 so they get an even bigger pension. They are all set and can have a comfortable retirement. Many people with college degrees on the other hand can't. Now granted trade work exacts a heavy toll on their bodies whereas people sitting behind a desk might not have the same amount of joint wear etc. Then again the guys working in trades are usually in decent shape because they move around a lot more. The guys sitting behind desks can become fat and get heart attacks etc.
-
Here’s the thing, Howard.
Exactly. The companies know their older workers can't be out in the field doing manual labor but have more experience. So they are used for estimating, project management etc. They may do some odd work here and there if needed but the majority of work is passed off to the younger guys.
-
Some older trades guys are still in great shape and actually enjoy work in the field sometimes as a break. They may be supers on a job site and then do work on the side as well so they don't lose touch of their skills. It is also exercise in a way to help them stay healthier. It is no different than an older ex bodybuilder going to the gym to try and stay in decent shape.
