yep the natural status or gear status is importantI think the only reason I can still hit those is because I started out power lifting and I still incorporate powerlifting in my training every 2 months
max bench 345
max dead 455
max squat 435 will not risk going more knee issue at that's at 52

has this been established? is there a ranking list? should their be one?

That is correct. You are definitely not the strongest.

I can flat bench 455 natty at 240,incline bench 405 for a couple ,curl 200 for 5,military 275 barbell for 5 and dB shoulder press 120s for 6 and dip with 145 lbs for 10-12.So I’m betting natty wise I’m in the top 3.

for me gains on eq were becoming very strong and vascular and hungry, side effects none that i know of,alot of people say it gives them anxiety but i never got that.

All joking and such aside, that is INSANE strength. You should post a pic.

So these were how long after your sus and eq cycle? Good lifts whether on or not if done with strict bbing form at your height and weight. Very impressive if these were done anything beyond 2 years after last cycle. If I'm reading you right, you're saying these numbers were at 40 y.o. and 15 years post cycle?
Big dicked bob upright rowed 800

These lifts are recently at 40,13 years post last cycle and 15 years after EQ cycle. My form is very important to me.When I bench I keep back flat, feet on bench and no bounce and no lift offs.Curls I stand with my ass and upper back against a pole not extreme strict but strict enough.Back is always against the pad when doing shoulder press etc...
Soon as you squat 315 x 25 reps, post it up..

Fortress gives hails to anyone who puts in the effort and tries with all his might.
My best years are decades ago, so nope - I am not anywhere near anyone here. I was only good on the squat and leg press (the inverted type, not the stupid sled thing they use now). I could deadlift well enough but bench press was beyond me.
I am a seasoned citizen now and have zero doubts that I am nothing compared to such as Wes and a few others here. It's okay. But depressing... ;)

For the 175-lb class, I am a legit contender. Dain Wallis is going to beat me basically no matter what I do...but it wouldn't shock me if I placed #2 in Canada for the 175-lb class this year. If Ronnie Coleman saw me, he would say "What's with that bitty guy lifting that much?" ;D
I am lucky in that I can maintain decent strength without apparently having any muscle. This lift is a decent one for me - even though my max normal deadlift is 485-lb, I think I am structured well for the side-handle deadlift, which is the one we primarily do in strongman:
^ WTF - is Goodrum using sock puppet accounts to dislike my videos? >:( :P
This was pretty good too - I was bench pressing 315x8 at this time. My weight was the same as my current weight: ~190-lb. Decent lift for 190, and the Thunder Bay record is 225x30, and that's held by 2x Ontario's Strongest Man champion Luke Skaarup! So I am happy with this lift:
^ I think I can do 27 now, but don't usually rep out with 225-lb, as it is not conducive for strongman.
It doesn't translate perfectly to high weight.
I would LOVE to hit a "gym bench" of 370 @175-lb this year. I will be hyper-competitive in the CAASA 175-lb class if I can do that.
BUT...major qualifier - even though I take your post as a compliment, Kwon - I am strong for my size, and as I understand it, my lifts are pretty average for a Getbigger. ;D :-X
In all seriousness though - I do consider myself a competent - even dominant - lightweight strongman, but strongman is a big man's sport.
I joke with women that I'm Thunder Bay's Strongest Manlet. One replied "What's that?" And I had to show her this:

You are very strong, no doubt.
But the form on that trap deadlift appears to be one that could cause you to rip something.
You might be able to do even more if you utilized some better form or technique.
Straps are teh gay though.
Did 5x5x500 for deads today. Average.
From the floor or was it with straps with the bar raised in a power cage? If that is from the floor that is some sick strength. Five sets of five reps with 500lbs is incredible. What's your single? 650lbs?Full reps, chalk and a belt. First 3 were easy, 4th sucked wind and 5th set was brutal. Pretty sure I farted non-stop.
Got up from the bed myself all by my own today, USING STRAPS!
I AM TEH STRONGEST!

Oh yeah? Well my walker was forged by midgies in the fires of Burning Man! It's made of Unobtainium and has the 3 flags of Buick on the handles and is said to be endorsed by people who should know better . It's thewankerwalker of kings and in theory can remotely control an early 70s Amana Radar Range! By the way, that last part should impress anyone because there were no remote controls for Amana Radar Ranges. Talk about Regal power!
You win Scottie!

Weird thing for me is that I've done 405 for 15 from the ground, but most I can remember doing on rack deads with that is 12. I would place the safety bars so that the weight bar is about 3" below my kneecap (i actually just busted out a ruler to see how far down the spot on my shin is where I liked the bar to be. LOL I'm a nerd!) I find this makes it pretty much just a lower and upper back/rhomboids/trap builder, and keeps my ass and hams mostly out of it. Doing them that way also made sense to me, bcuz I did deads on back days.Meltdown
I was a very strong squatter from day one (likely from years of skateboarding right up until I started training), and my ass grows just walking past a squat rack it seems, so I stayed away from deads, and did squats with heels on a board and knees close. I never did any type of deads until Francois had an article with him doing them, and read why.. which was to keep the glutes out.
Someone gave me shit about doing rack deads one time...I was either doing 455 or 495...495 is the most I've done for reps ...don't remember for sure if that's what I was doing at the time though; anyway, they said I couldn't do what I was doing from the ground. So I said let's start training back together, and we'll find out. Took me a few workouts, cuz it is different in how you set up, and start to pull. Eventually though, I did the 405 for 15, and that pretty much proved to me I could do the same, or more on the floor vs. racks if I kept at them. I've gone heavier, but I don't recall for certain if I did 5 plates or 4 + a 1/4 each side to claim one as fact.
On top of the big ass thing, full deadlifts from the ground have always scared me in regards to tearing a bicep. The way you have to set up and pull up and into your bottom shins felt much more strenuous at my lower bicep and along the distal tendon vs. when I would do racks as the bar is already right up against my shins. Maybe it's cuz I'm short and/or how I'm built structure-wise, or it's just because of how I did them from the ground never really perfecting the movement that way? IDK?
Regardless, I think Matt's the clear victor overall here it would seem. I do get kinda bummed out that during "my time" cell phones were just becoming a thing for people other than drug dealers and celebrities, and there were no camera phones back then. As much as I get pissed off these days about people and their fuckin phones/selfies in the gym, I really wish I had some of those moments captured. Without them I'm just a guy "that used to be" :'( Man, I hated those fuckers when I was young. Circle of life I guess. >:(
Meltdown
What's your max single deadlift?
LOL! Just a normal post for me ;DTop of the page was yesterdays deadlift work, no straps, haven't lifted with straps in years, only when I did strongman stuff.
Don't know. Like I said, always been afraid of them.
I was pretty lucky when I started, I had a National level competitor who won the bantamweight Continental USA approach me when I worked at the gym and ask if I wanted a training partner. Wasn't going to pass that up. He was super strong on squats, and I was trying to keep up...failed. I busted out my knee wraps to do a set with 365 for the first time. That's when I got my first lesson. 1) No wraps unless you want strong muscles, but not strong tendons and ligaments. 2) No more maxing out. "You can either have a great build and look strong, or you can look like shit and tell people outside of the gym you're strong...Pick now"
On rack deads I've done 455 for 10, and 495 for 8 if I'm recalling correctly....it was 20 yrs ago so? I do know my consistent end working set was with 455 for 8, and then drop set with 225 for whatever I could get
Bench I'm positive about, because I suck at it and it's always frustrated me. It's a total mind fuck lift for me 365x3
Squats on board 455 x 5 on several occasions
Bodyweight for those varied between probably 180-185 for squats, and the bench was done at 197....deads were somewhere in between there.
Only gear I used is straps and belt for deads, belt for squats, belt and wrist wraps on bench
Did you post yours, and I missed, or am I just old and actually replied and forgot?

can any getbiggers do a muscle up?
Never understood the point of these. They look like they torque the shoulders pretty bad.
I saw the deads....very good! What about bench and squat?Bench is absolutely horrible, never been good at it, haven't done it in 3 weeks. I've squatted 535, pulled 620. At 45 I'm looking to ramp up and set some new PRs this year.
I've seen your posts for years, and enjoy them but don't know much about ya. Without being too specific what's age and height range, bodyweight?
Btw, thanks for the props for this little fella. lol As stated though, those days are long gone :'(
I guess there's no point to any of it really, but i've taken an interest in calisthenics recently. Probably stupidly, considering my age and build.
But I see so many guys who have better physiques than most self-proclaimed 'bodybuilders' and (allegedly) do almost pure calisthenics. So I decided, why not give up some weightlifting and try to master a few of these moves? Haven't got much to lose...
At 240 to 250 pounds in my mid to late 20s I was capable of the following.
Squat - 535 for multiple 20 rep sets.
Inverted leg press - 500 for 50 reps (personal best)
Leg extension - 225 for 100 reps (personal best)
Squat 300 - 50 reps (personal best)
Squat 225 - 100 reps (personal best)
Leg extension with 750+ pounds for reps until the machine actually broke. (personal best)
Squats were to parallel or just slightly below. No ass to grass and I wore 1 ace bandage knee wrap on each leg and used a 4 inch belt. I never attempted a single in the squat but I have asked a couple of people I trust and they said at least 700.
I could not bench press and my best was 350 at 240 to 250 pounds bodyweight. I could not bench press. One time I deadlifted 505 and took it for a short walk to the squat rack once because my powerlifting friends teased me and said if I wanted to squat I needed to take their loaded bar and put it in the rack. The rack was one of those staggered ones so I placed it in the bottom tier. Maybe 10 or 12 feet. I would regularly walk around the gym with several hundred pounds on my back after squatting was done. But I rested before doing that because I was usually beat.
Paul Anderson and JC Hise were my inspirations for leg work. It took me years to reach these poundages. Some here might not believe me and that's okay. I can't do that stuff anymore. About 15 or so years ago I was still able to do up to 400 for 20 reps. Not now, LOL! My body fat was doubtless high. 25% or more I would say.
That’s retarded leg strength.
Never understood the point of these. They look like they torque the shoulders pretty bad.
Well you're ahead of me, bcuz I don't even know wtf a "muscle up" is?
How many lifting these heavy weights are in shape??
Or was it done being a fat ass with a gut?

I was in what I considered to be good shape for what I posted. Now, not so much! I've never competed, so I never got shredded to do a show. (diuretics scare me) Was always around 9-10%...12% at most when trying to add some size over the winters back then. I learned earlier today that this is called "safety-fat". My term for getting chubby over the cold months while putting on size was "winterization"
I don't see why people would make shit up on here, but I also don't understand why adults posting anonymously have gimmicks that have gimmicks? So, there's that. :-\

Very Strong.
My Best lifts in U.K. powerlifting
Squat 260kg 572lbs
Bench 185kg 407lbs
Deadlift 255kg 561lbs

By that time.
Thank you sir.
I'm 57 years old and have been competing in the sport of powerlifting since 1980. That's 38 years. And...
From the bottom up...
-Knees... feel great
-hips... total replacement on one (left). They both feel great now
-low back... always sore but Strong and no structural problems
-elbows... no issues
-shoulders... bad, very bad. Total rotator cuff reconstruction 3x. Very fragile.
-neck... pain free but issues, anterior disc excession and fusion c4/c5/c6
-head... a total train wreck.
Fixed
(And even though I'm 6' 1" I have to say I love the idea of going into a gym with a more compact guy who then proceeds to out-lift some of the bigger guys in the place - it would be like having a street sleeper auto or something. ;D)
6' 1" waist was 32" my legs were only 28".
And I don't care about people's height. Some really tall people can be assholes. One of my best friends was under 5' tall toward the end of his life.

By that time.
So you squatted 535 for 20 reps?
Yes sir.
That’s some very impressive leg strength
Your bench and deadlifts don’t seem to match which is mostly the opposite of most lifters

Thank you. I agree but I never could bench press. The deadlift I only did once in a while and the one I mentioned was done because my powerlifting buddies were taunting me. ;D Those were great guys and it was them who taught me all about J.C. Hise and the milk and 20 rep breathing squat program.
I literally drank up to 3 gallons of milk a day. Something most people could not do, LOL!
535 for multiple sets of 20 reps is some elite level squatting. Tom Platz standard. Even the likes of Larry Wheels or a younger O'Hearn probably couldn't manage it.
Were you natural when you did those weights?
Yes. I followed the 20 rep breathing squat program as done by JC Hise and modified it a little to suit me. And I really did drink up to 3 gallons of milk a day. I've seen Platz squat and he goes ass to grass and is a lot shorter than I but that takes nothing away from either of us. He was a fantastic squatter with a far better build than I ever attained but again, my role models for leg workouts were Hise and Anderson. For physique I looked to Reeves, Park, Draper and Arnold. But I didn't look nearly as great at those men. They just inspired me. ;D
Hise proved that almost anyone could be a powerful squatter with this program and my powerlifting friends got me into it big time. Prior to that I hated leg work. I started with 135 (that nearly killed me) and it took several years to reach those poundages with my gradual increases coming in 5 lb increments (a 2.5 lb. plate each side!). The bench press was never a passion with me and while I wish I was better at it (who doesn't? ;D), I guess I just wasn't made for it.
This method is the best way I have found to get big and strong. It worked in the early part of the 20th century and it will still work today. But it is HARD and nobody except powerlifters will ever ask you how much you can squat. ;D
Very impressive! I actually tried doing just one gallon of milk a day some years back but just ended up with the shits. ;D
I've only managed to hit good weights on the deadlift but I'm pretty weak on other stuff. There are some exercises that just seem to suit our individual mechanics which allows us to make rapid progress.
Did you ever test what your single rep max was on the squat?
I guess there's no point to any of it really, but i've taken an interest in calisthenics recently. Probably stupidly, considering my age and build.
But I see so many guys who have better physiques than most self-proclaimed 'bodybuilders' and (allegedly) do almost pure calisthenics. So I decided, why not give up some weightlifting and try to master a few of these moves? Haven't got much to lose...

Well, that explains the 25% or more bf%
That's something most, if not all, people WOULD NOT do! Seriously dude, thinking about that makes my upchuck reflex kick in abit...fuck that...A LOT! :-X
How long did you keep up that daily nonsense amount of milk consumption?
Double seriously...that's so fucking gross sounding I actually had to bust out my calculator....1 gallon = 128oz X 3 = 384oz divided by 16 hours awake daily = 24 fucking oz of milk/hr! :o
You must have been the smelliest taint in the entire city, let alone the gym you trained at!
I'm picturing the "old days" you as a dude with huge legs, and small chest/shoulders (based on bench/squat ratio) walking into the gym encased in a cloud of greenish molded milk colored gas that follows you everywhere you go.
How did you live with yourself? How many public restrooms and toilets did you close down, and destroy respectively? Have you no couth..no decency for your fellow man sir? >:(
Did you buy digestive enzyme supplements by the pallet, or wtf man?
OK, this solved the debate in my head about whether I was more impressed with the 535x20 for multiple sets or the 3 gallons of milk daily........it's the 3 gallons of milk per day by a country mile, except I'm not impressed.....I'm disgusted by the thought, and angered that you....one person alone, probably affected the price of my milk for a few years. >:( >:( >:(
;D
8)
That's some shit right there Illuminati! Nicely done at only 165!
Impressive!
so who you reckon is lying in this thread?
there's always people who exaggerate their lifts, it seems unavoidable and there's no reason to believe it's not happening in this thread

I used to drink 2 Mega Mass (not the whole 2000cals) shakes a day with 16oz of milk, and it would fuck me up.
I would actually avoid having one before legs, because the one time I did it and everything else in my gut ended up in the trash at the gym
Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by the squatting 535x20 for multiple sets.....or drinking 3 fucking gallons of milk in even one day, let alone everday? ;) GROSS!!! :-X
Squatting 535 for 20 reps, you are in the 1 percentile
I believe I never even seen Ronnie do it, he’s usually in the 4-6 rep range when going extremely heavy and I’ve seen him front squat 5 plates for reps
I imagine there are a bunch of people who are stronger than Ronnie on certain things,I train with a guy who is juiced up and looks amazing but I’m a lot stronger. You never know.

That is tom platz shit - there iis a video where he does some crazy high rep sqauts - prolly around those numbers.
No doubt! That’s some insane style of training, there’s a handful of guys that squatted 500 for 12-15 reps I witnessed and that’s incredible
I train at destination Dallas so I regularly see a lot of strong guys, kuclo is a regular who trains heavy and Josh Bryant from jailhouse crew is here at times a long with many of the powerlifters
All 400+ benchers
For me to get stronger and bigger, I have to consume a LOT of calories. I mean a LOT. As in several thousand a day. I would drink quarts of chocolate milk and/or kefir along with a dozen or more eggs a day. I would go to the egg ranch once a week and buy up 18 or 24 dozen eggs. I worked as a laborer and would burn through calories with ease. I even drank whipping cream for the calories. I had to as I did manual labor all day. Like Jethro Bodine, I was strong as an ox and twice as smart! LOL!
Keith Jones was pretty strong
No, I never did. I asked a couple of folks that are genuine trainers what they thought and both guesstimated 700 lbs. I agree about the influence of individual mechanics or traits affecting us and our training. I just could not bench. I even tried 20 rep bench presses and it never really worked the same for me other than if I could do something 20 reps I could usually do 100 lbs more in a single. That's how I got to a 350 max bench press but I could not go any further on that exercise. ;D Too wimpy I guess.
I will say I was lucky with my response to drinking milk. I never had any problems with it. Dumb luck, huh? ;D
