Ok this is my weakest bodypart. I was on a cane 2 summers ago just to get around the house. So maybe my haters can participate and get one on me. This was taken with about 1/4 mile to go in a race I recently ran. Humid as fuck that day. Sweated like a 🐷
I have not done direct calf work in ages but the seated calf raise thread got me motivated to do some calf extensions on the Cybex leg press machine in my gym. I’m expecting big gains😂😂

I have a chest day, a back day, a leg day, and an arm day I used to have a shoulder day when I was younger but not anymore. I try to get through all 4 each week. I train at home so no machines other than my leg extension curl and calf raise. All free weights for upper body. I keep it simple and do 2-3 exercises a workout. I used to train lower reps for upper body (no cables or machines right now) but have stayed high reps think 20+ since an injury in March. Arms I train with lower reps and obviously I do less pullups than that per set but for the most part its high reps lots of sets a couple hundred reps total per workout right now.

July 2019 neither of my legs were walking legs much less running. The doctors wanted to go in and shave down the bone in both knees. I had a 2cm tear in my meniscus a bakers cyst and fluid leaking everywhere I was on a cane and in pain. I had a lot of fluid in the knees and complete atrophy. They were talking knee replacement because my bolts were 20 years old and all quadrants in both knees were stage 4 arthritis bone on bone. My knees were bigger than my quads
As such fuck yes I will take cross country running legs that is a big step up. You all think this is just about getting big for me? This is about walking

I would do 1 plate per side on leg press for 50 reps, then 2 plates for 40,3 plates for 30,4 plates 20,5 plates 10,then back to 1 plate shooting for 100 reps.
Did lots of crazy shit..........370 for a triple weighing 160,405 for a single at 160,3 sets of 10 with 315, followed by 2 more of 8 and 6 respectively.
I used to do 5-8 exercises in a row no rest,adding weight to each movement once all were completed without resting on every set while decreasing reps...............and tons of other shit but I guess high reps would be the answer.

I was a drunken drug user for 33 years and trained off and on missing around 11 years in total never training during that time 11 year time period.
No excuses it was my own doing due to lot of personal reasons but the main reason was I was a bad alcoholic.....your common garden variety drunk.....PERIOD.
The one thing I did have was a strong desire to get my shit together and bodybuilding kept me on the straight and narrow.
While my gym mates Jeff King,Chris Aceto,Matt Dufresne etc. etc. were winning huge titles I was puking on my shoes in some alley on the streets with some stripper.
I am very proud of the fact that I started competing in my 40`s and 50`s after the living Hell I put myself through.
I made up for lost time cuz I had a drive that no one could disuade and a laser like focus and loved training hard so most of my 67 trophies came late in life quite a few being on the National level where I did quite well for the most part.
I`m proud to be clean and sober all these years because I never thought I would be..... and proud that I made up for lost time competing but if nothing else I have never called myself elite...far from it as I had no self esteem.

You have to eat and drink to grow. Also you don't want to be in starvation mode overnight when your body is trying to heal you need to give it something to work with. If you are not several pounds heavier at night you are not doing this right. Your body should go up and down about 10lbs and be leaner each time I can be anywhere from 215lbs to 230lbs depending on where I am as I cycle my food intake up and down. I am heading back up now

I have never claimed to be an elite bodybuilder and have often mentioned my lack of genetics, my shitty leg development, and my tiny sparrowlike frame right here on this forum.
I was a drunken drug user for 33 years and trained off and on missing around 11 years in total never training during that time 11 year time period.
No excuses it was my own doing due to lot of personal reasons but the main reason was I was a bad alcoholic.....your common garden variety drunk.....PERIOD.
The one thing I did have was a strong desire to get my shit together and bodybuilding kept me on the straight and narrow.
While my gym mates Jeff King,Chris Aceto,Matt Dufresne etc. etc. were winning huge titles I was puking on my shoes in some alley on the streets with some stripper.
