If you dropped out of basic you are no more a veteran or former member of US Armed Forces than a 80 year old Vietnamese rice paddy worker. And if you have ANY integrity you will state that you apologize for LYING about having been a member of the military.
That would suffice at least for me. I’ve defended you on here many many times. Please prove to me a man of character, courageous enough to admit fault.

I was discharged due to a medical issue so the only thing that is on my DD214 is my rifle qualification, a Nationsl Defense Medal , and a Validation of Profencency that bumped my starting rank to Private First Class for obtaining the rank of Cadet Major in ROTC. I was ionly in long enough to complete rifle qualifications. The rest of my time while waiting for my official discharge was guarding the armory at Ft Jackson as i had to complete my medical tests
I have my DD214 but im not obviously posting it up here.l as it has my SSN number and personal information you ass clown. But i have no need to lie about what i consider a miserable point on my life to where i spent 4 years in ROTC training and study just for a few months of actual service

There is nothing to talk about. I owned up to that. I failed out due to grades. I was recruited for track and field after being All American in the Hammer Throw in HS and wanted to lift weights and throw, not do calc and chemistry and failed out. Kings Points is one of the Federal Service Academies like the others.

So what was the medical disability? You have to pass a rather thorough medical at Meps. I had to get multiple waivers for my knees. Did you go through Basic training?

The only good thing was disovering an undetected health issue. Growing up in the projects, the health dept didnt exactly give great medical care. But i would have stayed in band class and got a scholarship if i did it all over again. I played the trumpet pretty well back then

Stolen Valor is very rarely about Monetary gain. Personally I don't get it as I don't consider the military as service. I consider it a job that people are paid to do. No one is being drafted and everyone is getting paid. No one owes anyone fuck all for taking a job.

ROTC - counts as exactly ZERO time served. It has absolutely nothing to do with actual military service. If you didn’t complete basic you received no medals that are legally able to be worn and you didn’t do ANYTHING while waiting to be discharged as you were never actually a soldier. Only upon the completion / graduation of Basic are you anything other than a civilian

Actually, a soldier has to complete AIT (or OSUT) in order to be authorized to wear the coveted NDSM.

True. I really don't get why so many people lie and exaggerate with this sort of thing. The amount of retards I've met driving me in a taxi or in bars when I was younger who wanted to tell me all about their fantasy military life is hilarious. And they're always lying to people who literally will know they're speaking absolute bullshit, lol. I don't get why people care, anyway. It's not even like it's a major accomplishment if you pass most military training - it's not hard, it's just glamourized and revered so more people want to do it.
The thing with most medical discharges is that you have to pass a strict medical to get accepted, then if you suddenly get injured early on, they don't just kick you out. Even with broken legs they'll rehabilitate you and do everything they can to keep you in training. I finished my course with two torn off muscles and chronic compartment syndrome. I'd have rather died back then than fail. Almost everyone I've met who said they left early due to injuries were covering for the fact that they desperately wanted out. Not that I have any opinion on Goodrum's record, though. I'm more interested in his tailored suits these days (no homo).

As I've stated before if you have not graduated Basic Military Training, you were never in the military it really is that simple. You never made it to Tech school or graduated tech school and you never went permanent party.
You failed out of BMT whatever the reason. ROTC has jack shit to do with the real military outside of you getting a stripe or two for completing at least 2 - 3 years.
Next as Andy Griffin stated correctly, Vince is lying about the National Defense Service Medal.
"Award criteria
The National Defense Service Medal (NDSM) is awarded to anyone who has served on active duty, or as an active reservist, in the United States Armed Forces during any of four specified time periods."
You were NEVER on active duty! Active duty is after you graduate BMT AND Tech school or AIT for Army.
Next you didn't guard the Armory. You're full of shit. Out of my 11 year DISTINGUISHED Air Force Career, I was stationed at two Army Bases and guess what they would NEVER let an untrained TRAINEE with no experience guard an armory you so full of shit it's unbelievable. At most you were doing base beautification while pending discharge. Because you're such a fucking liar, I call into question your marksmanship ribbon AND any other accomplishments you claim because you're fucking liar and fraud. You embellished your accomplishments because you want to be more than what you are. It's pathetic and you're pathetic.
And now that the heat is on Goodrum from most in this thread, he tucked his tail and ran like a little bitch because the chickens came home to roost. I guarantee if I dug enough you'd be outed on a mountain of lies. Absolutely despicable and disgraceful.

Ive already taken a picture of it and marked out my SSN and middle name. I've left my birthdate of 4/6/1977 to prove its me.

There are two levels of ROTC ... College and High School
College ROTC is designed to lead to an officer's commission, and often provides full scholarships.
High School ROTC is more about exposure to military opportunities for those considering enlistment ... it can be worth it since, at least when I enlisted, a new soldier with ROTC could enlist as a PFC (E-3), which means a lot more money up front, as well as preferential consideration for competitive MOS's.
Of course, you have to be man enough to pass BASIC and AIT (or OSUT).

Ive explained this over the years. I was discharged due to a medical issue so the only thing that is on my DD214 is my rifle qualification, a Nationsl Defense Medal , and a Validation of Profencency

The thing with most medical discharges is that you have to pass a strict medical to get accepted, then if you suddenly get injured early on, they don't just kick you out. Even with broken legs they'll rehabilitate you and do everything they can to keep you in training. I finished my course with two torn off muscles and chronic compartment syndrome. I'd have rather died back then than fail. Almost everyone I've met who said they left early due to injuries were covering for the fact that they desperately wanted out. Not that I have any opinion on Goodrum's record, though. I'm more interested in his tailored suits these days (no homo).

Very good points here Matt. The idea that a nation would be put their women in harms way (WAR) or other rigors of daily military life in the name of equity or equality says alot about that nation. Ive explained this over the years. I was discharged due to a medical issue so the only thing that is on my DD214 is my rifle qualification, a Nationsl Defense Medal , and a Validation of Profencency that bumped my starting rank to Private First Class for obtaining the rank of Cadet Major in ROTC. I was ionly in long enough to complete rifle qualifications. The rest of my time while waiting for my official discharge was guarding the armory at Ft Jackson as i had to complete my medical tests
I have my DD214 but im not obviously posting it up here.l as it has my SSN number and personal information you ass clown. But i have no need to lie about what i consider a miserable point on my life to where i spent 4 years in ROTC training and study just for a few months of actual service

Didnt fail basic, just didnt complete it and you have no right to ask for someones medical reasons or DD214. Be lucky i gave you folks the form. I had been in ROTC so i was well prepared. It was a painful time in my life because i was going to make a career and be done by the age of 40. But the rug was pulled out from under me.

The only thing i ever gained from it was 995 dollars a month which was what an PFC with an E-3 pay grade made. Even when i was waiting to be discharged, i still had to put work in.

The military is a job...no different from me doing security or working as a correctional officer. I joined for a chance at a college scholarship since im not good at football, basketball, or any other sport and i grew up in the projects so it was my only way out. Goodrum's have to leave home at 18 regardless...no staying with parents. Other countries make it mandatory.
I get the ideals of duty and honor and i have thst sense of it in serving my country...but not to the point where i treat anyone who has not served as second class citizen or gives me the right to bark and yell at waitresses and other people. Serving in the military doesnt entitle me to be a public dick which is how a lot of them act.
AND THATS WHY I RARELY BRING IT UP.

But you need to be very mindful about what makes someone a veteran as its subjective .some say one competing one term, some say doing all 23 years and retiring, some say that you're not a veteran unless you've been in combat.
Even Wiggs himself knows that some people dont consider him being in the Air Force because he never flew a plane or not a veteran because he didnt do 23 years. I dont know if he was in combat but then if he wasnt, some people will ding him for that too.
The definition of military veteran is someone who is no longer serving in the military....thats what the Army classifies me as and i have access to military loans, USAA , etc....all of which i dont use because i dont care. The only thing i am doing is taking up free space in your head. 🤣

There's nothing of value to be in terms of military service other than training to do security work and working in corrections.

VA loans are ONLY for veterans - you would NOT qualify for a VA home loan. That is my area of expertise and have done 100’s. You also do not have access and use of VA benefits - these are for VETERANS - which you admit as not having and I assure you that you DD-214 shows this coding. The DD-214 is simply the DOD form for ANY and all separation for the armed forces. Your permamnent record will show this.

If you didn't graduate basic you did not serve in the godamn military. You didnt graduate basic that is step one prior to service. You absolutely do not qualify for government military loans and educational benefits. High school Rotc is not military service

My "pension" wouldn't have been enough to live on so I would have to start a new career at 40 and in my career field almost impossible to do. Plus, military politics and B.S. can make what would normally be an ok job, into a sucky one. I'm sure Wiggs had some similar thoughts

He's not wrong here. The VA does have different criteria depending on the circumstances. You could be qualified for VA benefits after even one day of Basic Training. These are technical aspects and the VA seems to pride themselves on being overly complex and hard to pin down
Personally, I wouldn't think anyone who actually did serve in the military would consider someone who washed out of boot camp on a medical discharge as a fellow veteran regardless of the VA determination.

Again i see no point as its a hindrance. When i apply for a job im required to list military service and an employer seeing the amount of time i served would automatically think that i was booted for a disciplinary issue and not hire me. I didnt get a lot of jobs because of that

This would have warranted the "baby killer' jibes, though Vince could quite easily have clarified matters by stating that although he was indeed a swarthy fatass in a uniform he had no business walking around in, he was in fact just a recruit who had never served anywhere or played any role in the killing of babies, and he was soon to be discharged for a mysterious (though perfectly treatable) ailment. Given that he made no sacrifices or took part in any operations, I'm not sure why he would have been offended by such comments.
Nonetheless, I find Vince's answers to the questions put to him to be acceptable, and I don't doubt his story. This is why I must now close this thread.
