What?! This actually just happened??
-
So Chris Rock made a joke about her starring in G.I. Jane 2, since she's bald?
Does she have cancer? If not, why would Will be so offended?

Classy.

Alopecia
Ohhh...
That actually makes sense. So her bald head isn't the result of a hairstyle choice, but a medical condition. I can understand why Will would be so upset, but I think what matters here is intent:
Did Chris Rock know that Jada was losing her hair due to a medical condition? If not, then I can't entirely blame Chris. Maybe he thought she shaved her head for a movie role.
If Chris did know...then I'd say that joke was in poor taste, but...there are risks in comedy.
I didn't even know the Oscars were tonight. To think this event had around a billion viewers around 1994-1995. Meanwhile, they've been hitting 25 million lately.

Damn, that was real. Will's acceptance speech was really good, still ended up getting the Oscar.
-
Cuba L. Fishburn was defending Hattie McDaniel's honor.
-
Chris Rock just got reminded that Will Smith from Philly. Soon as he told that joke, he just walked out and gave him the goon hand🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
I smell bullshit. Smith has been the butt of jokes ever since Jada cucked him a few times over the last few years. Also the Oscars are on a huge downswing in the ratings since going woke. This could be a way for both of them to draw some eyes. Will gets to be a tough guy, the Oscars get a buzz.
The only other things I could think of are -
Bad blood from Chris goofing them at the 2016 Oscars - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3470502/Will-Smith-shrugs-Oscars-drama-filming-NYC-Chris-Rock-skewered-wife-Jada.html .
Maybe Chris tried to slide in on Jada when she was cheating on Will.
Rock and him have been cool over the years, but Chris does "sneak dis" them sometimes.

Vince, what do you make of the rationale behind Will's actions?
Did Chris know that Jada was losing her hair because of a medical condition? If so, that wasn't cool of Chris Rock.
But if Chris didn't know...Will's actions become a lot more problematic to me.

will's a simp.
Somebody described him as a "blue-pilled alpha male".
An alpha male, for reasons related to his physicality and financial/commercial success, and blue-pilled, in that he sort of has male feminist tendencies. He really made it a point to defend his wife's cheating in that online conversation on YouTube that was quickly taken down.

This part definitely crossed my mind.
The Oscars have been bleeding viewers for ages now. Having literally gone from one BILLION [yes - with a B] viewers in the early to mid nineties, to something like 25 million viewers around 2019-2020.
I didn't even KNOW that the Oscars were today. I previously always knew that they were at least ON TV...this year I had no idea.

Oscars ratings have been tanking bigtime for years. Well worth staging a slap for the rubes. I think Will Smith saw it wasn't really selling with the audience in house and started yelling that shit (probably something he heard an actual tough guy say at some point) to sell it more.
-
What a clown Will Smith is. Slapping a man then crying? All for his slutty wife who cheated on him plenty of times. He acted like a woman. Ruined the mood of the event and acted like a child. Will has roasted plenty of people.
I hear that. Great post, keanu.
I would say if Jada had cancer and went bald from chemotherapy, I could understand this. I get it. That is his wife, and she did have a medical condition. But if Will has acted similarly before, it becomes a lot less justifiable.
One thing is certain - Will committed assault. Any justification anyone makes needs to be on moral ground. Unless this event was staged [possible...but I'd think not], then Will committed assault, and that isn't up for debate.
To whatever degree he was justified in doing it in a moment of weakness is another matter.
And as for Jada cheating on and so on - the thing is, let's be honest here: Jada was hired as an actress in the mid-nineties because she was a piece of ass that Black men wanted to fuck. The Black version of Jennifer Lawrence in her day. And hey - there's nothing wrong with that.
But I think as she got older, her roles dried up.
Then she constantly started complaining about racism, and I think she dragged Will into that discussion, while he was still extremely successful.
I don't think Will would have been very involved in that discussion, had it not been for Jada. The fact he got an Oscar tonight at, what, 53-54 years old, having been mainstream for over 30 years now...it just goes to show that he doesn't need to complain about racism to get roles, even though Jada apparently does.
And she was openly cheating on him.
I'm a bit conflicted about this. But regarding Will - he definitively committed assault. Whether charges will be filed depends on the laws in LA County. I'm not sure if that would be at Chris' discretion, or if the LAPD are obligated to charge him.

Erm...Will was comforted? Are we forgetting who was assaulted here? ???
My opinion is this:
It really boils down to whether or not Chris knew the reason for why Jada was losing her hair, when he made a joke about it.
Furthermore, even if Chris did know she had alopecia, from what I can tell from reading online, she shaved her head voluntarily. Clumps of it were probably falling out, and she just chose to do away with it all. In that case, her hairstyle may be more personal choice than directly caused by medical status.
It's perhaps a less extreme case of what happened with Angelina Jolie, who had a double mastectomy, not necessarily due to direct medical necessity, but due to the possibility of future issues, medically.
Also...I think given this is Hollywood after all, people virtue-signal a lot. Dare I say that Angelina Jolie's actions were somewhat based on the possibility that she wanted to virtue-signal? Lord knows that she has many times before.
One other point: some medical tests today are WAY TOO SENSITIVE. The PCR test for the virus for example - it can test people "positive" who have rates of the virus up to ONE THOUSAND TIMES lower than that which causes infection!! So NO ONE should be tested unless they present to hospital with infection! Everything else - including the ongoing masking and quarantine of healthy people JUST DRIVES HYSTERIA.
Likewise, there HAVE been healthy people who have had limbs amputated who barely had more than a few cancer cells! While we should be grateful that we have such sensitive testing to help us determine if we have medical issues way earlier than they will actually cause us problems, we need to be aware how overly sensitive these tests are, and act accordingly.
Lastly, regarding Alopecia, and back to the point:
Was Chris aware that Jada had a medical condition? If he didn't know, then he was ultimately just making fun of her hairstyle. If he did know, then ok - that changes things, in terms of his intentions. But if she just had a couple of bald spots and chose to shave her head bald because of it, that would still make her hairstyle largely voluntarily.
As for Will, let's be clear here: he committed assault. How justified that was morally - if not legally - is in dispute. Legally, it is not.
If I had to guess, Jada has been sad about losing her hair [apparently she has posted that online a lot], and she has probably been made fun of for her hair a lot.
I don't think Will would just do that out of the blue. I think something led to it, like years of pressure from being in the public eye and insulted there, and years of witnessing his family experience the same thing.
I understand Will's position though. I get it.
Heck, I'd have probably at the very least yelled at Chris to not mention my wife, in the same way he did. Whether or not I would go up to Chris like that would depend on a lot of things...personal history between myself and someone, for example.
Is this the 100th time Chris Rock made fun of Will Smith or his wife? If so...I can understand why Will was so upset.
-
Yes, I'm going to stand with my hands beside my back and present my face forward, but I don't know what's coming? Please, it's kayfabe.

Chris Rock stood with his hands behind his back and his chin out, c'mon. The cursing after was Will Smith trying to sell obvious bullshit to a jaded hollywood crowd that knows everything is fake, especially with the Oscars on its last legs.

It's LA. Take a guess.
Here's how it really works, road warrior: Most men blow off stupid ish, esp from goofy dudes and backstabbing bishes, if it is directed at them. I'm 100% sure Chris heard through the black vine in Hollywood about Jada's hair.
Stay away from wives and mothers.
You cross that line. That's when you are going to test if a man is soft or not.
-
most black women wear wigs, they have no real hair anyway
Would Chris have known about her medical condition? If he did, that would make the joke in much worse taste than if he did not know.
I had no idea why she was bald. December was only three months ago...not everyone is in the loop for every little piece of Hollywood news like that.
I have no idea Chris knew - that would say a lot in terms of his intentions, if he knew she had a medical condition that pushed her to shave her head bald. If he didn't know, then it really changes things completely.
Regarding this being staged - why did Will initially laugh at the joke until Jada gave him a look suggesting she was unhappy about it?
And it wasn't a continuation of the previous laughter - Will started laughing explicitly as a result of Chris' joke about Jada, and the incident happened after she gave Will a look of being unhappy with it.
Will is an actor. If this was staged, wouldn't he have stayed in character?

I agree with this - for God's sake, people need to keep wives and mothers off-limits.
Even Getbig has a problem with this. I said that bhank's woman is good looking, but even a compliment could be argued to cross the line.
If Chris knew Jada was losing her hair, he should know that would be a hurtful joke. Legally, it's still assault, even if Chris Rock crossed the line.
I would be the first to tell you, under circumstances related to family, I would - and HAVE - gotten to the point of a physical fight. Whether I would do it there would be another matter - I mean, Chris is a COMEDIAN, for God's sake...
So I don't think I would have done that.
I don't think most people would have, but that's hard to say.
Hey, I get it - we now know what explains Will's behaviour. It just doesn't excuse it in a court of law.
If we want to make it illegal to make jokes, that's a very slippery slope that will get us all arrested.
I would say that all of us have made or laughed at offensive jokes before.

Chris' hands were behind his pack well before Will got to him. It makes sense he would have a smile on his face, if he had no idea what was about to happen. It takes a second to process these things.
Also, is it even clear that most people would even get that the joke had to do with her hair? GI Jane came out, what, in 1996?
Who even remembers it? There's no way everyone there even knew she was bald, or put it together that quickly.
I would think some people laughed because they thought it was a joje about Jada's character. Maybe even Will thought that initially, and laughed for THAT reason.
I think things changed when Will noticed the look on Jada's face.
As for that clip...I can't say for sure that wasn't a real slap. Maybe it was staged, but if it was - that wouldn't explain why Will initially laughed at the joke.

To be fair, it would be hard to just sit there while someone makes jokes about your wife on worldwide TV and the whole room is laughing at her because she went bald. I could see going Old School for that.
Just once I want to see one of these guys in the hotseat tell the world to go fuck itself. Do it, Will Smit.

Pathetic Smith should've dumped her when he found out she'd cheated. I think he was told not to leave, to set an example that other women could also get away with cheating and their husbands should forgive and forget. Pu55y simp world. Still, as a man you leave the b1tch immediately. Especially when the whole world finds out. Doesn't matter if you sleep with hundreds of women on the side, if she cheats she's history. Women know top guys cheat and most of them accept it.

Will be interesting to see if his career nosedives like Mel Gibson's for a couple of years.
He’s black his career will take off to epic proportions now, cause black=completely justified assault.

Do you really think PROFESSIONAL ACTORS would put on a staged WWE moment to bring publicity to an awards ceremony that has the lowest ratings of all time? You guys are crazy for even suggesting it’s fake. Ridiculous!

My opinion: STAGED, likely part of some greater distraction from something else.
Will Smith is a closeted homosexual. Jada and him have had marital problems for years. She fucked around with numerous men over the years, including Marc Anthony. Will has probably had a few side brothers on the "down low". Over the last 1-2 years, Jada exposed Will as the proverbial cockhold and pussy that he truly is (crying on national TV). He's been walking around with a black eye to his reputation.
The Oscars suck. Barely anyone watches that shit anymore. The Oscars desperately needed a "black person acting crazy moment", much like when Kanye went bonkers on Taylor Swift at the Video Music Awards in 2009. This serves two purposes. One, it allows for the Oscars to be talked about once more "the look at me moment". Two, it helps to restore some level of manliness to Will's questionable reputation.
I could be wrong, but that shit looked staged. Chris Rock kept his hands behind his back the entire time, didn't react and the best Will could do was "slap" him?

P.S. If it IS real, Will solidified his status as a cuckadoodle. At these events, it’s typical for people to be roasted. Suck it up. And if he HAS to respond, do it afterwards, when no is/few are around.
P.P.S. It’s the Oscars. You’re telling me there is no security monitoring stage access? Fishy.

I still think Smith had an "ain't sitting still for this" moment.
Even an average looking woman is crazy sensitive about the slightest diminishment of her looks. You think bodybuilders are vain? Try women.
Smith's wife was a beauty and lives in Hollywood. The shallowest place on earth. How many times a week you think he has to rub her cue ball head and lie to her that she's still a hottie? That'd be a raw nerve in that relationship.
Then be in a whole room full of people laughing about it. He looks over and sees it hurt her. The caveman comes up when someone hurts your girl. That's a real thing, as it ought to be.
Even if you think it's all a big work, the heel stood up, not when he himself was in the crosshairs ,but when someone he loved was, and he did it despite the consequences. Say he's a fagg. Say he's a simp. Say he's a cuck. Whatever. In that monent, he took a loss to stand for someone he loves instead of shirking the burden. That's proper conduct.
I wonder if I would have showed the same or if I'd put it on my woman to "be a good sport."
A little slap was proportional. Smith did the right thing. You don't sit there and act like nothing is wrong while someone hurts your woman.
-
"Keep my wifes name out your fucking mouth"

Tape you're using real world logic and thinking along the lines of normal people reactions. Will Smith hasnt been in the normal world for at least 20 years. He has 30+ years of living a Hollywood lifestyle. This was a filmed production where the attendants are "teased and lightly made fun of". Worse things have been said at these shows.
If this is what finally set him off then shame on him. He let his wife humiliate him publicly with her behavior and affairs. If he thinks standing up to a Chris Rock joke about a movie sequel to a 25 year old film was protecting his wife's legacy then he is far worse of than we could imagine.
Will was sitting at a distance from his wife, not even right next to her, like everyone else was at the show.
If it was real he should he charged for assualt.

Smith opened up a whole can of worms, some of the jokes -
"All I know is whoever is fucking Jada tonight better be on their best behavior".
"Some young dude is staring down at Jada's bald head blowing him knowing to keep the jokes to himself".
It also brought back up that Tupac was the love of Jada's life -

I'm not saying the guy hasn't fucked up royally in the past. But right there, at that moment, with someone making a public mockery of his wife's looks, I'm comfortable with Smith's response.
The world could use a little more light violence, judiciously applied. Men need to get a little bolder about standing up. It was refreshing to see a man take exception and handle the matter on the spot.

You have to admit, when Pistols At Dawn was a thing, nobody casually made a guy's wife the butt of jokes when he's right there in the room. Consequences help keep people polite. Feudal Japan, for instance, went way too far with it. But you didn't fuck around in Feudal Japan. You minded your manners.
These days, you're lucky if you're allowed to defend an immediate threat to your life without going to jail for it. We're expected to abdicate any personal agency and just stand by helplessly, as if you're some sort of invalid, and trust that The State will step in and give us justice. How's that working out? Everyone behaving politely out there, are they?

Has anybody considered that this was a "racist" act by the academy to ensure that Will won an Oscar? Maybe Will was set up to "play" a hero or an angry black man and strike another black man to lock in his win?
After all Denzel didnt win an Oscar until he played a corrupt cop in Training Day.
The lengths these whites go to degrade other races is disgusting .

I thought that stupid cunt smith was done with the Oscar’s as he feels not enough blacks were nominated for awards?

https://pagesix.com/2022/03/28/howard-stern-defends-chris-rock-after-will-smiths-slap/
'The radio host joked that Smith, 53, only got up to fight Rock, 57, because he’s much bigger than the comedian.
“If Jason Momoa would have made that joke, [Smith], like a bitch, would have sat there in his seat. He would have said, ‘Thank you for acknowledging my wife, Mr. Momoa,’” Stern joked.'

As usual, context is everything.
In that environment, it’s typical to possibly catch a roasting from the comedian host.
If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Just a cuckadoodle chocolate with no impulse control.

I still say big difference between flipping out over getting roasted yourself versus standing up when someone's taking aim at your wife. Must be my chivalry flaring up.
Not saying we need pistols at dawn. But what I'd really like to see more of irl is swashbuckling. What if Will Smith swung down from the balcony on a rope and kicked Rock with a big leather boot?

Judd Apatow says Will Smith ‘could have killed’ Chris Rock in Oscars slap
'“I’m glad Chris is ok. Will learned nothing training for Ali. Will Smith’s punches are as soft as his raps,” Apatorw quipped of the actor who said he spent two years training to portray Muhammad Ali in his 2001 biopic.'

Rock had his hands behind his back because in a million years he didn’t think Will Smith would hit him. You could see the look on Rocks face that it was real. He was trying real hard to keep his cool. Even when Rock backed down when Smith was yelling at him.
I don’t think it had anything to do with ratings since it happened live so unless you were watching it then no one would have known. It’s not like people get hit all the time so more people would watch next year.
I guess if in 6 months there is a film with Smith and Rock then we will know. But I thought it was a setup at first but not after watching the clip.

Standup comedy and comedy clubs, and much of comedy, in general, would be completely done if it was commonplace, and acceptable, to assault a comedian over a roast.
Rock is a comedian who was hired to host an event in which this type of shit is to be expected.
A long time ago Fortress attended a comedy club. For whatever reason (possibly because I’m a gargoyle-looking fuck), the comedian began into me.
I didn’t smash him.
IT WAS A COMEDY CLUB.
And even if it wasn’t, it was … words.

women are strong and empowered these days, just ask them and they will tell you
they don't need no man, well it's time they prove it and men stop doing jail time or court dates because they had to protect some woman that wasn't worth protecting, like cheating jada that openly wishes will smith was some dead thug from 25 years ago

The Smiths have an “open” marriage.
Which means Will and Jada are both having sex with the same men.

What about the 6 second-or-so lag time. Im pretty sure in previous awards shows there was a bit of a lag time between what was live and what was aired. To prevent situations like the 'wardrobe malfunction.' Or if some one went off on a profane tirade they had the option of not airing it.
I know they cut out the audio but what happened to that little protection/option of blacking it out?

Will Smith did nothing wrong. Chris Rock learned a valuable lesson. ESFitness would have taken things to the next level, but Will Smith just wanted end this. Chris Rock had made comments in 2016 and 2022. Who knows what was said in between those two events. Smith ended it. Chris Rock probably hasn’t been hit like that in at least 40 years.

The oscars is not a comedy club or a roast session. The only reason so many people remember the Ricky Gervais monologue is because it is something that you don't usually see on those types of programs.
The story you told isn't really comparable. Most people are way better at brushing off stuff about themselves than they are at dismissing stuff about people they care about. If you were at the comedy club with a date (I know, that's unlikely, just go with it) and the comedian started in on your date in regards to something that was a sore point and it was reasonable to assume the comedian was aware of that, maybe you'd respond the same, but a lot of men would not. Pretty much everyone has a set of circumstances where words stop just being sounds and need to be checked. The fact that you were in a not all that similar situation at one point and didn't react the same way doesn't really change that.

If you were at the comedy club with a date (I know, that's unlikely, just go with it) …
Hahaha
You make valid points.
However, I would say, Rock did NOT really criticize Jedi, or whatever her name is, per se, but rather poked fun at her shorn head being like that of Demi’s in a … Hollyweird film.
It’s not like he suggested she’s ugly, has a rancid cooch, is retarded, etc.

Rock made some jokes about her in 2016. How she was boycotting it that year because there were no black nominations. The irony being she stands zero chance of ever being nominated or invited based on her acting credentials.
Smith and Rock had some friction over that for a while. This was basically round 2

And Will Smith ended the feud with one hard slap.

Thats the problem...Chris thought he was a simp and poked at him for years. Will defended his woman. You dont joke about someone battling a medical condition and that was when he crossed the line
Vince G showing his uneducated southern serf side.
Baldness a medical condition...lol...someon e tell that to all the male bald jokes and George Costanza.
You call yourself an Afro-Americano but forget about Def Comedy Jam? How about the black comedians that roasted Rodney King? And Rodney was laughing.
Did you see Will Smith laughing at the joke...because he was...but his slut wife was upset.
That's when Will simped.
Don't mention my wife with your mouth...while your wife has had many men in her's during your open marriage.
If The Rock was up there he would have never pulled that stunt...and Jada would have been laughing trying to make The Rock bed her.
Wake up dum dum.
GODSPEEEDDDDDDDDDD

How so? Chris Rock was hardly affected...like a mosquito bite.
This whole thing could have been staged because the Oscars and award shows in general are hurting. So who knows....
I'm sure Chris Rock is going to make Will Smith a nice 10 minute bit.
-

Now this, this is superb! Well written, my friend.
-
Will Smith looks like an absolute douche in this situation.
The LAPD asked Rock if he wanted to press charges over a slap. If you are going to assault someone in front of millions of people, you might as well punch the guy, instead of a sissy bitch slap.
If I were the cops, I would have arrested Smith anyway. Everyone saw an assault happen live. At that point it shouldn't be in Chris Rock's hands whether he wanted to press charges.

Possibly staged... and planned out. But the slap wasn’t fake. It landed.

Black on black isn't a "crime". It is considered part of nature. 'n' sheit.
-
It's unclear whether or not Chris even knew Jada has alopecia...furthermore, Jada is hardly bald from the condition, but selected to lop it all off.
IMO, that changes everything.

It is hollyweird. As I have said before about such creatures, strip away the tinsel and underneath you'll find the real tinsel. They are given over to their own perverse will and as such will die in their filth.
Some here, and we all know who they are, will be right there with them. Rejoice in this. They deserve it.

The Fresh Cuck of Bel-Air pretends to be a man for 5 minutes. Now the world knows that he slaps like a girl. Attempt ends in failure.

I agree.
The sheriff’s department should have immediately placed Smith under arrest. Removed him from the venue.
Some ‘tard BLM-types are saying, if the Academy takes back its Oscar, it’ll only be because Will is black. More sane and rational folks would suggest it was only Smith being wealthy, famous … and black … that prevented him from being handcuffed and taken into custody.
Let’s be real. These people are ENORMOUSLY privileged.
You or I would be hauled away, all the while the audience chanting for our execution.
Heck, a Mel or any other white would be immediately perma-banned from any future Oscars and blackballed in Hollyweird FOREVER.
I appreciate a man being a man. But Will isn’t. He’s good with other guys fucking his wife. But NOW he’s had enough, with a comedian calling attention to his slut wife’s shorn head?
And if he felt absolutely compelled to physically make a point, why be a big showman on TV? Confront Rock afterwards.

Will's apology that was posted to Facebook -
"Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.
I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
I am a work in progress.
Sincerely,
Will "

Probably... but that's because Ben Affleck has a terrible reputation and Jerry is generally more well-regarded in Hollywood. In terms of professionalism, how he treats his peers and co-workers, peak star power, etc., Will Smith's reputation is sterling. He's been a name in the industry for 35 years and the only major scandals he's had have been firing the original Aunt Viv (who most of the other cast seemed to dislike, too) and speculation about an open marriage. This is why I have to kinda laugh when I see people trying to make this a race issue. It's Will fucking Smith!
-
I was hoping he'd stay with the Be A River For My People metaphor. It's one of the most wonderfully cornpone things I've ever heard, and I'm saddened we won't get to see Old Man River Smith explore it.

It's a shame this overshadowed his Oscar win for Kang Richard.

In the post I responded to from you, you seemed to be saying that Will assaulted Chris because Chris roasted Will's wife.
Standup comedy and comedy clubs, and much of comedy, in general, would be completely done if it was commonplace, and acceptable, to assault a comedian over a roast.
Rock is a comedian who was hired to host an event in which this type of shit is to be expected.
???
I have noticed this happening a lot regarding this story, not just with you... people shift what happened and the level of seriousness based on the specific point they're making at a specific time. Hollyweirdo Judd Apatow was tweeting earlier and on one hand, he was tweeting that Smith could have killed Chris Rock and everybody needs to take this seriously and in the next breath he was tweeting that Smith hits like a girl. Those seem like separate arguments, Judd.
I'm a Will Smith fan. I think what happened last night is more complicated than Rock told a softball joke and Will Smith overreacted. Smith has been in the spotlight for a longtime. We know for a fact that he's an even-tempered guy. Even a 5-year old could see that he was not acting out of blind rage last night.

No he didn't. His first reaction was him laughing, until his cuckhold ass got the look of death from Jada....that's when he reacted the way he did, and the proof is on tape. BTW, he hit's like a bitch. Chris Rock is a skinny little dude....weighs like maybe a little over 150lbs, and he took it like a champ, made a joke about it, and carried on. I wish Keven Hart would have been the host, as he would've been like "guy, it's on!" and kicked Will's ass on live tv. He's short, but he's a strong little fucker. I doubt he would've let that slide.
-
The Smiths have an “open” marriage.
Which means Will and Jada are both having sex with the same men.
I' kept seeing all the posts saying she cheated on him. Yes, with some young rapper she had an affair, but she made Will come on her podcast, admit he begged her to stay, and they could have an open relationship to fuck whoever she wanted. That is some beta shit. It's not really cheating if her husband agreed to it IMO!
So know he's shown himself as a beta on her show, and by slapping a little dude with no effect on Chris Rock in front of the "world" to see....granted, only like 5 million viewers saw it live. But is all over social, and YT now.
-
He does seem to have a problem with that. Don't feed a gremlin after midnight, don't give Will awards :).
Nonsense aside is their a celebrity more “accomplished” than Will Smith? He won the first ever Rap Grammy 33 years ago. It has been a great run for him.
Unfortunately for his marriage he was never Tupac (not that Tupac was going to be interested in a long term relationship with Jada).
It’s sad what should have been a great night for Will will always be over shadowed by his slap. Unfortunately I don’t think in today’s society he will be seen as a noble man, especially after his apology about no place for violence in a world of love (as if the world is a loving place). He should have owned his decision to defend his wife and take a stand for being a “man” but it’s easy to offer advice from the cheap seats.
-

Really? Seems like a tiny twat height and weight-wise on tv.
In your post above this regarding more accomplished actors. As much as I hate to say it, Deniro, Leo, Depp, Cruise etc. come to mind. As far as talent goes there are too many to list. Jamie Foxx is superbly talent in many facets of entertainment than Smith. Will just got lucky after a silly song that gained him popularity. He wasn't a typical hardcore rapper that people feared, people found him funny on Fresh Prince, he starred in large budget movies, and a couple good stories like Ali and from the sound of it this one was good to that he won for last night. He was the "peaceful" funny black dude that was seen as s safe blackie by everyone. Pretty sure he ruined that last night.

He should not be apologizing. Many celebs have had more brutal jokes, and kept composed. Like I said....it's on tape. Will was laughing until Jada gave him the look of "you know I'm getting gang-banged tonight, and going to make you watch it all unless you do something, right?"

I didn’t mean he was the most talented. He is the most acclaimed though. Grammy winner (and we can argue if he was the most deserving in 89 but he won) with multiple platinum rap records, spanning decades. Star of a hit TV show to successful blockbuster after blockbuster… and then when he finally decides to be be respected for his craft (I’m not sure when he transitioned from the action movie role, was it with pursuit of happiness) he wins an Oscar.
Jamie Fox is extremely talented but he’s not the star Will Smith is. The other actors you named are stars on the same level as Smith but none of them will ever win a Grammy or even have a Gold album.
-

Regarding Chris' height - I can say a thing on that because I know a thing:
He's a legit 5'10". He also hasn't appeared to lose any height, even though if I'm not mistaken, he is 55 now.
Edit: 57, whoa. My bad. I thought he was born in 1966, but he actually has an early 1965 birthday. But yes, he's a "strong" 5'10" [178cm - just a hair over 5'10"].
-

After will cursed, Chris said "I could..."
Is it possible that Chris, being such a good comedian, could have quickly come back with something like "I don't think you need to worry about your wife being in MY mouth", but held back?
And look at this - 67M views and counting!!! That's, what, 7x as many as the actual Academy Awards? Haha.

-
I don't think Will is a bish. As I said, he has a high tolerance for buffoonery. You go past his threshold.
Every man has a threshold.
I agree - and wives and families are off-limits. Once, a guy said to me in person some of the things Walter Sobchak said to me on here.
I did initiate a physical confrontation, which he talked me out of.
His wife then explained to me that while she was at the Canada Games Complex [fitness and swimming facility here in town] with me and both our kids while he [the guy who talked smack to me about not taking care of my kids] wasn't there [in fairness - he is a full-time electrician, so it's not like he was lazy...he was working].
Anyway, she had to explain to him that I'm a stay-at-home dad, and I do see my kids as much as I can.
But here's what I know:
I have a definite limit. And that limit usually involves my kids.
But regarding Will Smith - I have no evidence that Chris Rock even knew that Jada has Alopecia.
That - IMO - changes EVERYTHING.
Intent does matter.
I mean, if Chris thought he was just making fun of a hairstyle choice, that changes things - no?
-
Will Smith would slap many getbig members in the face, and most of the getbiggers wouldn’t say shit, or do shit
Personally, I always fight back.
HOWEVER...I don't think that Chris ever in his wildest dreams thought Will would hit him.
Another thing - look at the way Chris postures after getting slapped, just by instinct.
He was ready to defend himself, if need be. It's just that by then, Will was was walking away.
And I think Chris' thought process was: "I understand why he did that, but wow..."
Look - I'd take a smack like that if I ever felt there was some ambiguity about insulting a man's wife. However, I also think if I did what Will did, and if any ambiguity existed as to Chris Rock's intentions, I would apologize.
I don't think Chris knew that Jada had a medical condition.
-

Especially his son. Total Hollywood brat. Much worse than Tom Hanks' son, c.hanks.
I didn't realize that Martin Lawrence was a race-baiting type. Jamie Foxx is pretty overtly anti-White - he bragged about killing White people in Django Unchained on SNL.
-
I didn't like Dr. Grande's video on Bill Gates - as OneMoreRep said, Gates is a total snake in the grass. Bill Gates was ok in mh minds until he became a global drug pusher.
I also didn't like Dr. Grande's video on Joe Rogan, where Grande called Robert Malone a "conspiracy theorist", and made no mention that Malone INVENTED THE MRNA VACCINES.
No excuse to fail to mention that Malone is a doctor.
As for Will Smith - I like how Grande questioned who made Will do it?
Will attributed it to God, the Devil, and a whole host of other excuses, never once taking personal responsibility. Good analysis:
-
Jada got into an "entanglement" with this August guy? ???
Also, her Alopecia is barely visible...you literally wouldn't notice it if she didn't shave her head bald voluntarily. I think she did it to virtue-signal. The fact that she had to SHAVE her head proved that she didn't lose it all.
I think after Jada caught Will laughing at the joke, he felt the need to overcompensate, once he saw Jada's reaction.
"Bad Marriage 4 Life"? ???
So they both cheat on each other like crazy?
Great ending to this video - I think the whole dialogue was taken down from YouTube:
-
How would Chris Know she was Will's Wife (female) ? He's Not a Biologist !!
I'm sure all the democrat's can understand & side with That.

Chris Rock just got reminded that Will Smith from Philly. Soon as he told that joke, he just walked out and gave him the goon hand🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bast told me Will was from Cleveland. There are definitely some bad areas in Cleveland [guess the racial demographics of those areas ;D].
Jk. Well...not really.
I can't see them doing something like this for ratings....I just can't but I was wrong about Kyle Rittenhouse, George Zimmerman, Jussie Smollet.....I'm going to hold my tongue because I don't need another L
Vince:
It looks like you were bang on about this being real. The way Chris Rock postures to possibly fight back is too subtle to fake. Initially, I thought Will made his lip crooked, but apparently he has a bit of a crooked lip - kind of like what Corey Haim had [RIP]:

As for when you were wrong about Jussie Smollett...come on, Vince - you're smarter than that. That case was a hoax from the start, and as I said - you're smarter than that. I understand how your instincts are to defend your fellow Black man, and I respect that - but come on, Vince - let's be reasonable here. :)
However, you were bang on about this not being staged, and that won't be forgotten. So you definitely got the W here.

Will smith is just trash, his wife fucks around & from what i read the big tough black hero begged her to stay. He should have been thrown out the awards & never received his one. Banned for life.

Regarding being banned from the show - absolutely. That should have happened on the spot. I also think some Black Privilege was involved here - would a White man have gotten away with that?
And does it matter that Chris Rock himself is Black? What is Hollywood even saying here - that it's ok for a Black man to assault another Black man who insults your wife?
I think what happened was that Will Smith found the joke funny until he saw the eye that Jada made, and he then realized he messed up, and had to overcompensate for laughing at her expense.
Regarding Will having his award revoked - I feel that awards are sort of like university degrees or college diplomas in that once you have it, you own it for life. So even The Unabomber still has his Ph.D in mathematics. Unless you can prove academic dishonesty, you get to keep your degree for life. Just my opinion. But Will should have definitely been removed from the show at the very least.
-
As for Jada - I think she is the primary reason why Will bitches about racism so much. Why on earth would Will have anything to complain about? Jada apparently didn't understand that she was only ever given so many film roles in the 1990's because she was a piece of ass that Black men wanted to fuck. Once she aged out of Hollywood, she started going on tirades about racism, when the real reason was ageism, which applies to EVERYONE in Hollywood [although probably disproportionately female].
Also, it's worth it to point out that the two other Best Actor nominations Will had resulted in him losing to OTHER BLACK MEN [Denzel Washington in 2002 in Training Day, and Forest Whitaker in 2007 for The Last King of Scotland]. So what does racism have to do with that? ???
I just say though - if this scene is any indication, Will did an amazing job. I would say that he even did a better Richard Williams than he did Muhammad Ali or Dr. Bennet Omalu. I think I'll watch this now:

can you imagine if a white actor slapped a black man? As far as i´m concerned will smith is trash, him & his wife. He has brought the awards into disrepute. Black Ghetto rap trash behavior which i do not want to see.
-
Do you think Will Smith has had any hair work done? As BB stated, Will has that Dave Palumbo shoe polish look.
Definitely.
-
Not enough black at the Oscars?
Don't think they will be saying that again now had their first taste of black on black crime.
I reckon Will Smith was lucky to get that Oscar anway. He only got it because of black privilege and expect he will keep it for the same reason.

I didnt have all the details at the time but i wised up when he described the incident where two rednecks went and recognized him as that fag from Empire....i doubted that 2 Rednecks would have ever heard of the show Empire...oh well

That's true...at the end of the day, the Oscars got a taste of diversity.
As for a White man doing that...hell no. It wouldn't be tolerated.
Ultimately, most don't even tolerate it now.
But the ACADEMY is tolerating it, and THAT is a problem.
It wouldn't have been tolerated by the ACADEMY if Will wasn't Black. Also, I could see The Rock not getting a pass, given how strong he is [despite being half Black].
As for Will Smith getting the Oscar she to privilege - I'm not sure. He definitely looks like he did a good job in that role based on that clip above.
Has anyone here watched King Richard?
Is it another White Guilt movie?
If so, I don't want to watch it.
Do you think Jada even respects Will for doing that? It's just such Simpish behaviour to me.

Chris Rock just got reminded that Will Smith from Philly. Soon as he told that joke, he just walked out and gave him the goon hand🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
no he didnt he laughed at the joke then came up at least 8 seconds later

Will was Subconsciously Painfully Reminded his wife is a Whore & sucks other Men's Cocks.
He's an out & out Cuck.

Will expressed our desire to return to Natural Law. MeToo expresses natural law. So women can fuck the alphas, as nature intended(and alpha doesn't mean physically tough or violent). But for millennia, beta cucks from Louis B Mayer to Harvey Weinstein have their limp dicks sucked by the hottest females.
Alphas used to become cops. Cops were heroes. Now they're beta little fucks, writing tickets for license plate illumination. Black Lives Matter made it this way. Alphas, real men, would be considered "racist" or "abusive". Marion Cobretti would be up on charges.
Vegas was MUCH safer with the mob running it by natural Law.
Look at the rich, they FLEE the cities they created and live in nature. They displace all the animals, trees and other elements of virgin environment they claim to want to protect. They hoard it by the 1000s of acres. They can't STAND the cities they created.
So Will was expressing what we all want to express. Just leave us alone. We'll handle shit ourselves. And it was handled much better than some beta twitter war between Rock and Smith, where beta youtube channels would "update us" on each new insult, reminding us to smash that like button.
No, one slap. Natural Law personified. DONE.

As usual, context is everything.
In that environment, it’s typical to possibly catch a roasting from the comedian host.
If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
Just a cuckadoodle chocolate with no impulse control.
Chockadoodle...?

Amazing blue eyes (if real).
That wig looks incredibly real too.
Chris Rock's documentary about black hair goes into this.
Never realized black women went to all this trouble to have white hair.
I knew they straightened it with relaxers but the wig thing was unknown to me.
An incredible amount of effort.
Check this one out. Looks incredibly real.
Always get a kick out of hebrews, I see often with colored contacts, straighten hair. Hahaha all trying to be white ;D
Love my blonde full head of hair and baby blue eyes, all natural

I notice you and a few other people in this thread seem to think that Smith not being escorted out was a sign of black privilege. I don't agree with that, but I could be wrong. Let me ask you this- can you name five actors with more star power than Will Smith? Living, working actors who have comparable name recognition, who are generally well-liked by the public, who have given critically acclaimed performances and who have had similar recent box office success? ( Bad Boys 2 came out just before pandemic lockdowns in 2020 and made over $400 m worldwide). I can only think of two who are arguably close and I am positive they would not have been escorted out. At the same time, I think it's unlikely any other black actor would have been allowed to remain. It seems to me Smith was allowed to stay because of his immense star power and the fact that he was nominated for one of the biggest awards of the night. Do you think race is more important than star power in Hollywood? Do you think Will Smith is generally disliked by his peers in the industry, but security was guilted into cutting him some slack because of his race?

I doubt the eye color is real. The only black person I knew that had blue eyes wore blue contact lenses. He was a good guy but got teh AIDS and went the way of the Dodo. It's okay for black people to have blonde hair and blue eyes but DEF2YT...Nonsense.
In the libtardian world, what's good for the goose is good for the step. Bunch Nazi twats describes libs.

How would Chris Know she was Will's Wife (female) ? He's Not a Biologist !!
I'm sure all the democrat's can understand & side with That.
LOL....sad but true in today's society.

I can't disagree with much or anything you said here.
And I would be hard pressed to point to many actors with more star power than Will Smith - I just saw that his Instagram page has 61M followers - Whoa! :o
I would therefore not automatically classify this under Black Privilege. I mean - he slapped another Black man, so if it's not like we can make a Black-on-White versus White-on-Black comparison.
Also, I loathe conversations about privilege. They are so petty.
That being said - ok, fine, privilege exists [I just hate having conversations about things that are hard to quantify].
Could it just be Status Privilege.
Yes, absolutely.
It's akin to Jada complaining about racism in Hollywood, when IMO, the reason for her decline in career opportunities is more due to ageism - BUT...she also sort of got her start in Hollywood due to Young Beautiful Female Privilege.
These distinctions are subtle - but they are there. I just don't want to give leftist talking points too much credible.
But to your question - could this just be a case of status working in Will's favour [Status Privilege - or even Wealth-Generating Privilege], then yes, absolutely it might be that.
It's hard to say how this would play out had this been two White actors - so I don't want to jump on the Black Privilege card here.
I think it may just be a matter of status, as you said. And Will absolutely has incredible star power - amazing after being in the spotlight for over 30 years.

tom cruise

all have more star power

You can see a lot of anger, betrayal, hurt, and pissed off in Will's face there....even when he smiles. Multi-millionaire, elite celeb, made to look like a bitch. IMO a lot of pent up emotion led to the Oscar thing. BTW, I don't watch those pile of shit award shows. I feel like next year they might get higher ratings to see if something similar goes down, but it's dead after that. Black on black crime is not a good look, and someone like Ricky Gervais will never host again. Only way to save this shit show is have the Rock host every year, and to kick the fucking shit out of anyone that gets out of line. Hollyweird is owned by China, not the Jews for the most part anymore. Things in the movies, agendas, and censorship are even more out of control. The end is near.

the last thing liberals care about is black on black crime, heck they even blame that on "white supremacy"
they only have their rallies and protests the rare time a white person is involved with hurting them

Rock owned that. What a mature response. I don’t think he was out of line with the GI Jane reference.
Dave, I don't know why I even clicked this thread. I don't give a fuck about "movie stars", as I think anyone can do it...you just have to be good looking and/or have connections. It's kinda like that Liberty Mutual insuarance commercial where the quy keeps fucking up, and after the last take where he say's "Liberty miberty", the director says "nevermind, we'll just dub it. The fact that fat and unfunny fucktards who are off the hinges like Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill says all you need to know about what it takes to be an actor. I forgot about "pursuit f happiness"....that was a good movie. Other than that the Bad Boys movies were written by Martin Lawrence, who was truly the funny one, and Will has been in all the movies other than mentioned, that the special affects were the star. Last movie I watched with him was either Hitchcuck or "pursuit" depending on which was out first.
This is not worth arguing over. They are all rich as fuck, elitist snobs, and who all got $100K gift bags for just attending the show. Most people not in CA or NY don't make that much in a year, and they are constantly complaining. It's fucking absurd.
All, I have left to add is the following vids by Russel Brand and Black and White Sports featuring clips from Shannon Sharpe saying he would've beat Will's ass....of course we know Will never would have had the balls to step to Sharpe. After the mean look from Jada, Smith would'a been like "that's all you babe"...and then she would have fucked Sharpe on stage. Hollyweirdo's are fucking crazy like that, and now we have proof.
Stop going to theaters, and renting this propagandized BS. They are killing society. I grew up in GB around Packer players, and worked at gyms were WWF guys were the norm every 3 months. They never acted liked entitled fucks that were better than you.....not a single fucking one. Shook your hand, said hey thanks to a compliment, and talked to you like anyone else would.

Why? He to my knowledge has never written anything scriptwise himself. His "music" was shitty pre-recorded beats...can't play an instrument as far as I know, lyrics were meaningless shit, hit tv show where the cast hated him and everything was written for him. Like I said, he was the "safe blackie", and I think he just killed that.

I had no idea you were from Green Bay, myt1.
Good stuff!
I also didn't know that WWF/WWE wrestlers were the way you described.
That makes sense, because they are harder working [physically] people. Whereas these Hollywood actors and actresses are spoiled brats [not all - but the culture breeds that type of thing, it seems].
I had no they got free $100K bags. Wow...
I like how that video from Black and White Sports said to smash the subscribe button, like Notomorrow said. ;D

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar says Will Smith 'perpetuated stereotypes about the Black community' by slapping Chris Rock at Oscars

“With a single petulant blow, he advocated violence, diminished women, insulted the entertainment industry, and perpetuated stereotypes about the Black community,” Abdul-Jabbar writes of Smith, echoing the opinion expressed on Monday by Today host Craig Melvin that it was "troubling on so many levels" for men of color.

My friend sent me this...but I'm still going with real / not staged:

I had no idea you were from Green Bay, myt1.
Good stuff!
I also didn't know that WWF/WWE wrestlers were the way you described.
That makes sense, because they are harder working [physically] people. Whereas these Hollywood actors and actresses are spoiled brats [not all - but the culture breeds that type of thing, it seems].
I had no they got free $100K bags. Wow...
I like how that video from Black and White Sports said to smash the subscribe button, like Notomorrow said. ;D
Yep, GB until 15 and every vacation I've ever taken as an adult has been back to there as all of my extended family is there, and like Canada......the nature there and outdoor fun is amazing.
Met a ton of WWF/WWE guys. Only ones I can think of that were fucking jerks are (Hacksaw....biggest prick of them all surprisinglytotal let down as I was 16 then), Macho Man...way tinier than he appeared on tv...pre-juiced up WCW days, and Jake the Snake, who was a prick and a serious pussy with weights. Undertaker was there a few times. Can't say he was a prick, but he never even looked at, let a lone talked to anyone. From what I've seen in interviews now that he is retired, always staying in character as "the deadman" was very important to him, so I give him a pass. Oh, and Ortan, Flair, and Benoit were either arrogant, ungrateful to train for free, just complete pricks and/or all of the above...especially Flair. Everyone else was wrestler's. but bodybuilders at heart so they were super cool, respectful, and always hooked up us up with free tickets. I was pissed when I wasn't working when they came in, and my co-worker got tickets from HHH. Said they talked quite a while, he was cool, and funny as fuck. I met Joni/Chyna at a monster truck rally/moto-x thing here after she did Playboy the first time. She was way smaller than I thought, very pretty, and super nice to chat with after she was done signing autographs, and just hanging out. Sad how she self-destructed. I think HHH, and the WWF as a whole really broke her down bad. :'(
-
Yeah, he got the original Aunt Vivian fired, and was an arrogant dickhead supposedly to most of the cast
from what i heard they all hated her and she had an inflated sense of self importance, she didn't like that will smith was the star she felt like she should get more air time
never heard anything about the cast not liking him

Good point about Chyna - she was 5'10", which is tall for a woman, but not super imposing in real life. That is sad about her self-destruction.
Those are cool stories. I think Macho Man went up and down a little. He was huge in Spider-Man.

Pretty much this.
Rewatched Fresh Prince a few years ago and unlike most family sitcoms this one aged pretty well. Her version of aunt Viv was definitely better.

Geez, I had no idea.
He's probably a very privileged person who has had a silver spoon in his mouth for ages now.
This is a story all about how, my life life got turned totally right side up...
I was sitting in a chair next to a bro named Jeffey, just another talentless fuck...
When we wrote a shitty song we decided to call it "parent's just don't care"....
Never fought or got in trouble my whole life, but turns out that bullshit led to me being the Prince of Bel Air.
And now it's years later, and I'm a sensitive pussy that married an incredible whore,
There finally came a time where I couldn't take it no more,
I went on stage in front of my whore of a wife, and at my greatest moment decided I should put an end to this fake life.
So I smacked Chris Rock... right in his mouth, and that's when everything started going down south.....
"Duh, nonna, nonna, nuh"
;D

Hahaha. Comic material for days!
Chris Rock could have come back with SO MANY jokes there.
My friend sent me this...but I'm still going with real / not staged:
I think Chis thought he was just going to fuck with him verbally. He had his hands behind his back which is normal on every awards show....even Espy's. That slap was way too loud if you hear the audio to believe 155lb would agree to be smacked like that by a dude 50lbs heavier and around 4"'s+ taller on live tv to be made look like a bitch. Agree, it was real. Oscars might have ok'd the slap if it was a bit, but definitely not the verbal tirade and cussing on live ....sponsored TV.
-
Think about those two statements

Disagree. All live stuff on non-cable has had a delay for many years with no black out. Especially after a couple of super bowl foul ups, and DeNiro saying Fuck Trump live.
-

Those are cool stories. I think Macho Man went up and down a little. He was huge in Spider-Man.
I think the whole 5'10" thing was her wearing boots. I stood by her talking standing up. She was in tennis shoes, and a sporty outfit (track suit type, but with a zipper hoodie to show her tits to fans) She was not 6" taller than me.
-
Disagree. All live stuff on non-cable has had a delay for many years with no black out. Especially after a couple of super bowl foul ups, and DeNiro saying Fuck Trump live.
So are you saying they couldnt have cut it out even if they wanted to?
-
Imagine if this was reversed, and Gunter shoved Ronnie? The press would have a field day. But since it was Ronnie shoving Gunter, the mainstream media brushed the incident under the rug. As a matter of fact, they ignored the contest completely. Fucking bullshit.
-
Pretty much this.
Rewatched Fresh Prince a few years ago and unlike most family sitcoms this one aged pretty well. Her version of aunt Viv was definitely better.
The first Aunt Viv?
I missed most of that season, so I forget how she was. I remember her being different.
The new Aunt Viv in "Bel-Air" sounds just like the second Aunt Viv.
I watched three episodes, but they race-baited way too much.
-
Did Will and Chris have a beef? None of the jokes Chris made here seemed particularly harsh to me:
-
He's still good friends with the entire cast with the exception of the original Aunt Viv. Almost all of them have talked about the original Aunt Viv actress not being pleasant to work with. Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton) wouldn't even shoot scenes with her when they shot the HBO Max reunion last year.
Will started out as a novelty rapper, became one of the biggest tv stars at the time he was on tv and transitioned into becoming one of the biggest movie stars. He had major success in all three areas and he did it at a time when that kind of success was not common. It's changed a lot in the last 20 years, but making the leap from tv to movies used to be a big deal and making the leap from music to legitimate actor who could carry a non-musical movie (much less an action film) was almost unheard of.
The "safe blackie" thing... even blacks use that to dismiss, so I'm not hating, but it's not really possible to apply it to Will Smith. Being the safe negro gets you to the middle of the pack, it doesn't get you to the top of the pack and he has been a major star for decades. If it was just a few sort of successful movies or just a popular tv show, you might have a point, but he's literally one of the most successful actors of all time. That's not luck, that's not being safe IMO that's smart choices and hard work. Being seen as a good guy definitely helped him, but he's an actor. They are all image conscious.

Will Smith's Mother Reacts to Him Slapping Chris
"I am proud of him being him"
Will Smith's mother, Carolyn Smith, was left speechless along with the rest of the world after her son slapped Chris Rock across the face while he was presenting the award for best documentary at the Oscars on Sunday.
The 85-year-old was watching the award show rooting for Will's nomination for Best Actor when she watched him rise from his seat to strike the comedian after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.
In an interview with ABC Philadelphia affiliate WPVI, Carolyn revealed how shocked she was to see the events unfold on-screen.
"He is a very even, people person," she stated. "That's the first time I've ever seen him go off. First time in his lifetime… I've never seen him do that."
The night left Carolyn and her family with conflicting emotions when Smith won his first Oscar Award for Best Actor for his performance in "King Richard" shortly after the altercation with Rock.
"I know how he works, how hard he works… I've been waiting and waiting and waiting," she gushed. "When I heard the name, I was just, 'Yes!'"
The Smith family isn't letting the intense moment define the actor, and remains firm in his character as they say he always puts family first.
Carolyn stated, "I am proud of him being him."
Following the incident the Academy released a statement on Twitter saying they "have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law."
In his speech, Will said he hoped the Academy would invite him back despite the incident. Rock has not responded publicly at all, but he did choose not to press charges.
On Monday evening, Will did issue a public apology to Rock on his Instagram page. "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive," he wrote, describing his own behavior at the Oscars as "unacceptable and inexcusable."
"Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally." He then directly apologized to Rock, telling him, "I was out of line and I was wrong."
He also apologized again to the Academy and to the Williams family. Perhaps referencing his own words about love in his acceptance speech, Smith also wrote, "There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

Yes.
And that timing is mental!
However, just one thing...
Why would Will have initially laughed at the joke? Wouldn't he have reacted like Jada? At no point did she laugh.
On this point, I doubt they rehearsed. I can easily see them wanting to keep it ad hoc, specifically so it doesn't look to choreographed, to the point that he didn't even know the actual joke. It's a horribly unfunny joke, barely worth a smirk, so the fact that he "laughed" is actually more evidence that it was fake. "Look, I'm going to tell a joke, then you come up and do your thing" level of rehearsal/planning.
And his laugh wasn't a continuation of the previous laugh - it was a fresh laugh from the joke about Jada.
Another thing - Chris initially postures almost as if a fight was going to commence, just after it happened.
I don't think he's posturing, I think it's an involuntary reflex to getting smacked, even if it was fake.
It's split-second and then he consciously controls it
That is a VERY subtle performance.
Almost too subtle for a live event.
That said, I do have questions:
Apparently the show has a six second daily for the live feed. Why wasn't the feed cut?
So as of now, I'm still going with live.
One last point: this didn't have to happen to get advertising for Alopecia medicine. Jada simply being there at all was an advertisement.
I'm not disagreeing. It just seemed pretty real to me.
I also feel like Will didn't have much to gain here. I think it makes him look bad to more people than not. What do you think about that?
Just some points to ponder above
-
Think about those two statements
If it had been real they would have cut it
The fact they let it run shows they knew it was going to happen and wanted everyone to see it
Yes...exactly.
I mean...right?
So I'm a bit conflicted on that, and obviously still reading and researching.
I'm curious though - what's in it for Will, given how much cash he already has?
As for if it is real - is this what Big Pharma needs to do to make money now? If so - that's pathetic.
-
I remember the episode of fresh Prince when uncle Phil had a heart attack and Carlton would not visit him in the hospital and Will was all like “there comes a time when all people have to see their father like that.”
This would bring anyone to tears.
-
I think Chis thought he was just going to fuck with him verbally.
That is why I lean towards real:
Having your hands behind your back is normal.
I have not seem what Will looked like from the front while walking to Chris...but since Will had a smile on his face while walking back, is it possible that he had a smile on his face? If Will was smiling, isn't it possible that he just thought Will was going to do something friendly?
Would ANYONE in a million years expect a Chimp-Out like this at the Academy Awards? Lol.
Also, notice how Chris immediately postures to potentially fight back, until he noticed Will walking away? That seems like pure instinct to me.
And also, THIS: why did Will Smith initially laugh at the joke?
Wouldn't he stay in character? It seems like he laughed until Jada gave him the eye.
I agree with joswift that they had time to cut the feed, given the 6-second delay.
joswift [if you see this]: what do you think about Will laughing at the joke initially? It also seemed like a new laugh, rather than a continuation of the previous laughter. Whereas Jada looked offended from the start.
Wouldn't all three be in on it? If so, wouldn't Will have looked offended too?
That's why I'm leaning to real, but...I guess no one would know except for a few people. But even the people processing the feed would have to be in on it...and the more people in on a conspiracy, the more likely it is to fall apart.
But hey - I don't know. Hence the questions.
-

Phantom Spunker,
I detect your sarcasm, but check this out:
This would take INCREDIBLY subtle performances to fake. :o
My verdict so far: real. Although I have no idea why they cut the feed. And if Pfizer [the show sponsor] has a new Alopecia drug released the same day [source?], that's amazing.
My biggest question is: why would he have been laughing after the joke initially the way he was if it was fake?
And it wasn't one of those laughs that was a continuation of the previous joke.
Phantom Spunker: did you get the initial joke? I'm not even sure if I put it together, initially, because Will wasn't sitting next to Jada [for some reason?]. I do vividly recall GI Jane and Demi Moore's hairstyle in the movie, but I thought it may be just a "strong woman" comparison.
What is your assessment on this?

Janet Hubert (original Aunt Viv):
“So PROUD OF YOU!” she wrote in response to Smith’s acceptance speech, before pivoting to the slap. “There is only so much one can take… sometimes you have to slap back,” she argued. “Celebrate the win… nothing else matters. Both actions were incorrect but Chris didn’t need to go there. Met him once… it was enough for me… very mean spirited.”

Pfft.
So many people are defending irrational violence.
Did Chris even know that Jada had Alopecia?
And is Jada even actually bald? She had a full head of hair in that "entanglement" video. From what I can tell, she isn't losing THAT much hair.
It's not the same as making fun of someone who went fully bald due to a medical character.
IMO, Jada is shaving her head in part in order to virtue-signal. VICTIM, VICTIM, VICTIM. That's Jada's modus operandi.
The Body Language Guy above says Jada should be more open about jokes about her hair, giving how open she is about it.
But back to intent: did Chris even know she has Alopecia? I had no clue until this happened. Nor did I know the Oscars were even on.

Matt,
My personal opinion is it's not worth burning any mental energy on these freaks. They're all weirdos, how they present themselves is contrived, and whether it's real or fake, it's still pathetic.
I'll now contradict myself by elaborating, but yeah, looks real. Remember, Will Smith is an absolute fruit bat. As stated, first he's laughing along (as they're supposed to), then he remembers he's dating a miserable skinhead bitch who's going to punish him later for laughing. He's also desperate to shake the image of himself as an emasculated deadbeat father and husband, so he runs on stage, tries to look the part, but throws a pathetic slap. Chris Rock was genuinely taken aback and didn't know how to respond, too.
Slight tangent, but I always avoid any film with Will Smith, John Travolta, Tom Cruise or The Rock in it - because I cannot stand them.

Really - you like no movies by the stars you listed? I can think of a few: I thought Domestic Disturbance [2001] was worth watching [Travolta] and Pain and Gain [The Rock] - while considered a piece of junk by many - was ok to me.
I could probably think of a few more in there too, but otherwise, I'd largely agree.
-
Hilarious that there are people that still worship Will Smith after he was shown out as a punk bitch cuck being controlled by an angry bitch. I can get that stupid people in the regular public buy that but it amazes me that anyone whose been in the Thunderdome does. And this all just punks him further
-
He's still good friends with the entire cast with the exception of the original Aunt Viv.
I haven't had cable for over 10 years. It was on some documentary, so maybe feelings have changed or he got pissed and since he was so rich paid them to say good stuff years later. He was never a musician, his raps are gay, I liked Fresh Prince as a kid, but he was never one of the "biggest TV stars". He was a part of one of the most popular TV shows. Carlton, both Aunt Vivs, and Uncle Phil (RIP) were all accomplished actors way b4 Will. I watched, cuz it was funny and the sister (cousin) was hot. He's obviously a cuck/gueer, and he is the only one that went on to fame likely cuz he sucked some cock along the way. He's not an action hero...those movies were all CGI. He's been in three good movies where he acted well....again something anyone with connections, decent looks, and a tad of charisma or willing to be a phony fuck could do. Don't know how I got pulled into this thread, and why I'm arguing about some dumb, rich, phony, big eared, fake ass black.

Matt,
My personal opinion is it's not worth burning any mental energy on these freaks.
Diversity balanced choice

3 of them are Scientologists. Don't know about The Rock.
Movies with Tom Cruise are usually quite good though.

Very cool analysis.
I had been eager and waiting to here your take.

No, I really can't think of any. it may be a character fault of mine, but if I find the person annoying then I can't really give them the time of day even if the movie itself may be watchable. The exception here would be Face Off - but that's because it's so shit it's funny. Especially the sickening face swipe thing they all do. I remember someone I knew years ago used to walk around bars doing that to girls, lol.

;D I was going to add Denzel Washington but didn't want the accusations to start flying.

Will Smith is a pussyo. Chris Rock should not accept his apology and just leave it at that doesn’t matter how many times Will apologizes. His apology doesn’t mean shit!

That's fair, but did Chris Rock know that Jada shaved her head in part due to a medical condition?
If he thought it was a hairstyle choice, what's the problem?
Comparing a woman to GI Jane is not an issue. IMO, this one boils down to intent.

Show me a similar string with Asian, Arab, Latino, Mayonnaise, Eskimo, South Indian, Native Indian, or any other group of men mouthing off non-stop about their women.
GI Jane or whatever is superficial.
I'm making this as easy as I can.
For example, mayonnaise men are getting their A-holes handed to them 24/7 by their women with metoo cases but do you hear a word from them?

They've always gotten along and it's extremely well-known. He's worked with all of them in some capacity in the years following the fresh prince. He produced tatyana ali's album back in the late 90s and he and carlton have made a bunch of appearances together over the years. There have never been rumors about him being difficult to work with and he's always been known as friendly and professional, which is probably the primary reason the industry is afforded him so much leeway. I only addressed your post because it was demonstrably inaccurate. His professionalism is one of the main things he's praised for. Looking back over the pages, I see that two other posters had already addressed it, though.
As for the rest, you don't like Will Smith. That's fine. I would never try to convince someone that they should like him and don't really care if you do or don't, but I think your dislike is coloring your argument to the point of irrationality. Aside from just saying plainly false stuff, I'm also confused about what some of the stuff you are typing means. You don't think he was one of the biggest tv stars, he was just a part of one of the biggest shows- a show that he was the star of , that was named after him, that he was the highest paid cast member of and that he could get other cast members fired from? Or his action films are just cgi- compared to the military documentaries every other action star releases? ???
You don't have to feel the need to get pulled back into this thread against your will to respond to me. I was just pointing out the facts of his career. I don't think those matter to you and when it comes to who someone chooses to dislike, they don't really have to.

Tbh I never liked Will Smith at all, but after he slapped Chris Rock, he's my hero
Why? He slapped Chris Rock who made a silly joke. Will Smith does nothing to the guys banging his wife. If they want an open marriage that is their business but Will Smith is an unusual choice for a hero. I think he slapped Chris Rock because he's upset at his own situation with his wife banging that skinny rap guy and everyone knowing about it. I think he's just misdirecting his anger towards the smaller comedian to try to prove how 'manly' he is. I don't think it's fooling anyone. Most people are just mocking him now.

Maybe it's being used a distraction from real life issues, but I'm still glad that Hollywood hypocrisy and double standards are being addressed.

I had to stop watching this at the 2:22 mark:
They kept going on about her being the first woman of colour to do all these things in Hollywood. Libtards think it's 1922, and not 2022.
Then they show a picture of her as the first Black homecoming queen in 1967. ::)
These idiot libtards think White people still own slaves.
Successive generations are being trained to hate Whites more and more, as more resources than ever are being used to help POC in various areas [affirmative action jobs, business grants, race-based scholarships, etc].

Why did Will Smith initially laugh at the joke if it was fake, while Jada stayed in character? Wouldn't they all stay in character?
What does Will have to gain from this?
These are not hostile questions. I'm just trying to figure it out for myself, lol.

That's certainly possible.
The entire situation is a bit fishy [see photo below].
I'm still trying to process how fishy it is, to ascertain genuineness or not.
Regarding how Jada shouldn't be laughing if it's real - I think that is a fair standard to apply to most women...but Jada seems a bit off/unstable/bitter. So I wouldn't say she's most women. She has a massive victim complex.
A big question I ask myself is: what did Will have to gain? Is our society so messed up that this will HELP his brand? To me, this totally changed his image. I definitely think he's a giant cuck now, when I only suspected as much from the entanglement table video.
Now Will's cuckedness is confirmed to me.

That's what I keep wondering about. Are children no longer taught history? That we already had a genuine war over this issue a long time ago and guess what - we made slavery illegal! It's actually illegal and has been for a long time! We have dealt with it already. Black people have all the rights that any other American has. So, go on about your lives.

I just heard on the news today about the new alopecia drug. Seriously fucked up. Definitely staged bullshit.

I'm thinking Jada thought is was a gag too until WilSmif started his verbal curse rant.
She laughed after Rock made his quip after the slap.
-
I just heard on the news today about the new alopecia drug. Seriously fucked up. Definitely staged bullshit.
That timing is wild, and is part of why I think it's all a bit fishy.
However, supposedly as humans, we experience roughly one major experience per month. So...stuff like that does happen.
While the timing is fishy, Will could have drummed up hype for it by simply screaming "My wife has a ****ING medical condition!", which would have drawn millions of eyeballs.
How much profit will this Alopecia drug make? $100 million?
If so, what would Will get paid for staging this then? $10 million? And at the risk of ruining his reputation?
Unless he has spent most of his money, would that be worth it?
Hence why I'm still going with real.
Also of note: all of the major body language experts on YouTube are saying it's most likely real. And they are experts in the field.
Still though, I don't know for sure.
Supposedly Will was asked to leave the Oscars but said no.
-

Absolutely.
When I originally saw her facial reaction to the joke, I was like, What an uppity whore who actually thinks she’s something special.
-
I just watched a different angle of this whole thing and to me it looked like Smith walked up to a mark on the floor. He was looking down at it as he approached, and stopped right at it. (that's what actors do). Then he gives the slap, with Rock just standing there waiting for it.
-

It's not an alopecia drug, it's an auto-immune disease drug that won't even be out this year. But, yeah, everyone will probably still be talking about this for a few years, so sounds like very effective dark marketing. ::)
How are you people still debating whether this is fake or not? Literally everyone involved would benefit if it WAS NOT real.

LOL, exactly right.
I'm glad that some people state the obvious so well.
Will must have made well in excess of $100 million on his career...if not hundreds of millions.
What would make this risk to his reputation worth it? $10 million? Then what would Chris and Jada have to make? $5 million a piece? Then how much to pay the security guards to ensure they didn't intervene and stop this? Then why did Will botch the performance by laughing at the joke initially? And would that profanity outburst afterwards really have been necessary?
While I still think the video is a bit fishy, I'm going with real.
Final verdict.

So it was fake?
While we can't rule that out - most body language experts feel that it's real, and I tend to agree with that.
It's either real, or those are some EPIC, SUBTLE PERFORMANCES.
And I don't see why Will would have laughed, if it was staged.
However, we will never know for sure.
Typical Cuck Behaviour though...so probably real.

I agree with this. I think if it was staged Will Smith would have been looking angry as soon as the joke was made. I doubt he would have given that laugh and then show anger after looking at his wife. That being said nothing surprises me with actors it could still be fake, Juss another Smollettification from Hollyweird ;D

It's unlikely they were paid for this event, there would be tax records. But what if they owned a lot of stock options? The pay out would be much more.
You're thinking about this from a normal perspective, but when people reach the 1% in life they are thinking and acting on another level.

ADOS is in serious trouble. If this treasonist whore wasn't married to a mayonnaise man, she was literally the type of black woman, afro-centric and type-C hair, Smith subconsciously slapped Pookie

Will laughed because he was "acting" and he's a bad actor. That "joke" wasn't worth a laugh. He could have also been a bit nervous knowing what he was getting ready to do: engage in a put on publicity stunt to draw eyeballs. No, just yelling out something about a medical condition would not have drawn 1/100th of the attention. He almost didn't sell it, which is why he started yelling some bullshit he probably heard some other real tough guy say.
And he isn't risking anything, his career is set. He will pay no price, the Academy is just posturing. He will be known as the man who saved the Oscars. So that is what he has to gain from it. He got the eyeballs, and that is really all that matters. The controversy blows over in a week and people remember the slap and think Will was justified and the Oscars is back and the rest (violence and the laughing at and glorification thereof by the hypocrites who preach otherwise) is forgotten because it doesn't fit the narrative.
Will comes out on top, bigger and better.

There have been a lot of good comments here, and I've been watching all the body language analyses about this on YouTube. ;D
As you said, nothing surprises me about Hollywood. But my other question is: what does Will Smith have to gain from faking this?
Chris Rock had two immediately sold out comedy shows, but even then, this conspiracy is questionable. That's why I'm going with true.

And that's what Jada did - momentarily. Then the emotion in her face quickly shifted. Whereas Will Smith didn't just laugh - he was in stitches.

I don't think the Oscars will do anything but I think Will Smith is going to be laughed at for a long time by the public. I think this called attention to his wife's extracurriculars and this will follow him around. He'll still get acting roles and won't be blackballed (only blueballed by his wife) but most people won't look at him the same way now.

I wonder what BLMs take is on this situation?

If all this fuss was about alopecia, where is gender equality?
Billions of men have it and get mocked about, but if there is a word about the condition on a woman, there is a problem?
Feminists should be outraged about Jada and Will Smith perpetuating traditional gender roles. How unwoke of them.

Will comes out on top, bigger and better.
Those are all good points.
Cursing would have probably still gotten 10M views though. And not come at anywhere near the risk. Or he could have gone up to Chris, screamed and swore in his face, and threatened an altercation, and gone back to his seat - that would have probably gotten 50M views and accomplished the same thing.
Who would need to be in on it for it to be fake? Why wasn't the feed cut? Would the people in charge be given specific instructions for it to be fake?
The more people in on a conspiracy/hoax/bit, the more likely it would be to fall apart.
So that's why I lean to real.
I still go back to this:
Why would Jada stay in character, but Will laugh? It should have been easy for him not to laugh. And he laughed naturally - and a lot. Whereas Jada started with a smile that quickly turned.
As for other people who said Chris stuck his head out, and had his hands behind his back - he did that the whole time under the bright lights.
Hence my conclusion is that it is real.
Or these were VERY subtle and VERY real performances. But I guess Will has a lot of practice acting like a cuck.
-
Still how crazy how if that was one of us gone up and done that, security would have dragged us out, we'd be immediately thrown in the can, deemed a danger to society as someone with no self control, mentally unstable and punished to the highest degree. Yet not only does he refuse to leave when asked, he still gets awarded, applauded and gets to party the night away.

A standing ovation, no less [or so I heard].
Yeah, it is absolutely insane to me.
I guess the LAPD cannot press assault charges without the consent of Chris.

Would the lapd not charge one of us if chris didn't press charges? I'm sure we wouldn't walk away unscathed.

His family are either elite trolls, who know how to make waves for publicity and limelight, or they are truly being controlled by something.
The slap, open marriage, closet gay or bi, lacking as a father, kids are both fucked up and alien-like.
That whole Eyes Wide Shut shit in Hollywood, has to have some traction. Secret societies, cults, they have always been frequented by the wealthy, powerful, and famous.
Some of these people fake marriages and relationships for more fame and money.
It's actually scary.

I believe you are on to something.
Moreover, I believe Will Smith is a closeted homosexual that in order to not lose his marketability as "America's favorite and highly lovable politically correct Black Guy" continues to live a lie and has fallen victim to his wife's compulsive cheating, which has relegated him to the position of an emotionally unstable cuckhold in the eyes of modern society. I think the guy is trapped in this marriage and is yearning for cock. I also think he feels as if coming out would be devastating to his career and role prospects. But it wouldn't be the first time Will Smith has played the role of homo.

He seems very emotionally unstable and could be the type to commit suicide if the "pressures of Hollywood" aren't better managed. Somewhere, Wayne Brady is loving these turn of events.

I disagree. This is the perfect time for Will to come out as gay or bi.
It would take guts, but a guy like him could actually take the covers off of Hollywood.
But I can see how people would be afraid to. They would probably end up in a "tragic accident" or "food allergy gone wrong".
Unless they have a death wish, I don't think anyone is willing to blow the lid off the Hollywood pot, that has been simmering for 100 years.

I never knew he had three kids until just this week.
His son who was in the Karate Kid is a typical Hollywood silver spooner. He probably thinks he's the victim of racism too, like Jada does. Meanwhile, ageism was what made her career decline. And to a degree, sexism.

We need to clone Wiggs. He is not a "black" man, but rather a Man who happens to be black. A friend of mine who is black once told me that a great many black women are looking to marrying white men because they want their children to have lighter skin.
Like Muhammed Ali, my friend did not desire anything other than a black American woman because he wanted his children to look like him. That is not a racist point of view that is a normal one. In looking back, I should have asked him if these black women had a thing for really fat white men, LOL!
He would've cracked up laughing. He is a good Man too and I have not seen him for a few years now as he moved to another state for work because he is Conservative and thinks Commiefornia is crap.
So let's clone "Jango" Wiggs and solve this problem for black American women.

I was thinking the exact same. Most wear wigs so you can't touch their hair let alone give it good yank while them, many smell horrible, they are mean fucking girls, don't know how to manage money, and over 50% at minimum are fat as fuck.
I've had the desire to fuck one in my entire life. She was petite, and mixed. If she had straight hair, you wouldn't know she was half black.

I didn't see it live. My understanding was they did, and the clip we are all seeing was from Japan TV who didn't cut it ???
I haven't watched any of those award shows in years. Last time I tuned into the Grammy's to see Metallica and Gaga as I figured that would be interesting. It was cuz they fucked it all up, and James was pissed his mic was barely working. I think that was like almost 10 years ago or so.

I’m thinking this joke itself had nothing to do with him hitting Rock. I think after he made fun of Jada before Will must have told her that if Rock ever said anything about her again he’d smack him. So when Rock said the joke , Smith laughed because he forgot about what he told Jada but then quickly remembered and had to save face. I only think this because of what Will said afterwards. Keep his wife’s name out of his mouth. So you know f was built up jokes about Jada. Stuff he said before or many times before.

Nice theory but I’ll ask what has Chris Rock said that hasn’t been uncovered? Sitting out the Oscars? If this was the case the Smiths publicist would have leaked the awful things Rock joked about, to justify Wills actions.
But what actually happened was Will did interviews talking about how his wife’s affair hurt him but he understood why she did it.
-
Smith should worry less about his wife's name being in a comedian's mouth and more about who has cum in her mouth.
Cuckoldry is disgusting.

all fake

Will Smith has a great career. His projects are now on hold. Jada never had the fame and roles she wanted. A total egomaniac, she is known as Will Smith's wife. There is professional jealousy there. Jada has done everything she can to ruin Will. She has fucked anything that moves, she has made him look like a fool many times. What happened at the Oscars , Will won't fully recover from. Jada was laughing her head off in the aftermath knowing Will had ended his time as an A list actor.

Will smacked a black man. Mel Gibson dissed the Js and still has a career. Will will be back.
Mel Gibson wasn't the most articulate person, but to suggest Jews as a group were innocent in WWII is utter bullshit.
Maybe next time, they should ask their elites not to bankrupt an entire country.
But hey, at least they know what will happen if THAT happens again.

Mel doesn't have the career he used to. Will's star is tarnished which will cause a premature fading of his career.
Wills career has been fading since 2013 and After Earth. His biggest movie roles (since then) in Suicide Squad and Aladdin weren’t the typical name driven blockbuster roles he has been associated with. Aladdin could have been cast with almost anyone and been successful.
He will eventually realize that this has affected his career and will publicly “check in” to some type of in patient rehab clinic and do a media tour of how he couldn’t separate his life from the character from King Richard and he had a mental breakdown of sorts.
-
You ever notice that Hollywood ALWAYS likes to dress Black men up in dresses? What's up with that?
Honestly and sincerely? No I hadn't - but I'm willing to be educated on this
Are we talking drag in general, or just in films..?

Bang on.
I've been saying this for a while now: Jada Pinkett Smith was given a career in Hollywood in the mid-nineties because she was a piece of ass that Black men wanted to fuck.
I don't think racism is the reason she's not getting as many roles anymore, but ageism - and possibly a bit of sexism, since you could probably argue that women face ageism in Hollywood more than men do. The flip side of that is that women also benefit more from positive discrimination - or attractive women do - which is somewhat how Jada got her career in the first place.
Ultimately, she benefitted from the same machine she's complaining about. My question is: who would want to work with Jada, given she constantly makes racism allegations, and given you will apparently be assaulted if you offend her.
She also dragged Will into the whole racism discussion, which was one he wasn't even involved I at all. I have no evidence that Will even cared about any of that at all - yet she managed to pressure him into involvement, including boycotting the Oscars.
I think Will and Jada need to break up. She's gotten him to commit assault on her behalf. That just isn't healthy. JMO.

It was staged to some degree. I can't believe I even got fooled. But there is what's called a "match on action" edit that simply could not have been predicted by the director. Right after the slap, a cut captures a seamless transition to Will Smith walking away from the slap from a different camera angle. No camera crew would be prepared for shots out of sequence like that. I worked at the Geffen Theater with Gil Cates who directed the Oscars for years, and it's very scripted, and shots are planned out.
And here there are multiple reaction shots, with an establishing shot that keeps everything cinematically perfect. This does not happen with events that are not scripted. You'll get some odd angles, weird cuts and visual disorder if no one knows what's going on.
FANTASTIC job of staging this though.

What did Smith get out of this if it was staged?
people talking about him/oscars/chris rock/jada
-
Seems like he is bossy, except to his wife:
-
Just watched spiral the latest saw movie with Chris rock and I have to say I like him better in a serious role than as a comedian. I can’t stand his comedy routines but he did pretty good in this movie.
-
What did Smith get out of this if it was staged?
First, international media coverage. There are multiple threads about Will Smith on Getbigs main page alone, and not one of them about his Oscar win. Remember King Richard is a BOMB at the box office. For a movie to tank with an Oscar winning performance means Will's public image is in trouble. He's too tame.
It's also high profile pitch to his wife to save his marriage. Jada was Tupac's main girl since high school. I'm sure she views Willy as weak and safe like his rap career. This is like a ghetto love letter to his wife. You can tell she's done with him and views him as a bitch like everyone else does. He wants legitimacy in the black community and more importantly with his wife. But it's too late for the Fresh Prince. He ate the apple of Hollywood long ago.

It seems like most people don't get this. His career is over. Stick a fork in him.
It can cost $100 million to make a film. Are movie executives really going to gamble by putting Will Smith in a starring role?
Everything in Hollywood happens 6 months later. Will probably has several films in the can or current commitments that can't be broken so movie executives won't have to risk anything. They'll see how these films do in the next 6 months (and they'll probably do the same or fine) and only then have to decide whether audiences no longer like him.

Its starting to leak a little bit, but actors and actresses, should just come out.
Stop having beards, because you are worried about your image. There are literally people in Hollywood, that arrange marriages for a career.
Fuck me if I'm not a normal dude.

I think Hollywood execs are very risk averse. That's why you see so many shitty remakes and franchises. They need a guarantee of a return and their reputation and future paychecks are on the line with every film.
If a star has a couple of box office flops they can quickly become box office poison.
You are correct, this could take six months to play out, but within a year the results of this display will be apparent.

Maybe in the past but when you have remakes with all woman leads like the Ghostbusters reboot you should know they'll try anything.

Lol. So he is now banned from attending the scars for 10 years. As if that’s punishment. These fuckers only show up to either promote something or collect an award. He just won the biggest award so why the fuck would he care?
Will Smith will not be allowed to attend the Academy Awards for the next 10 years, as a result of his slapping comedian Chris Rock on stage during this year's Oscar ceremony, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences announced in a statement obtained by CNN.
"The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards," Academy President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement on Friday.
The decision was made during a Board of Governors meeting held earlier in the day in Los Angeles. The meeting, initially scheduled for April 18, was expedited after Smith announced his resignation from the Academy last week.
Smith issued a quick, concise statement on his ban from the Oscars for the next decade.
"I accept and respect the Academy's decision," the actor said in a statement to CNN.

It will fuck up his money a bit. Certain film houses, like Netflix, might not offer him work because he can't win an Oscar for the work, etc.... Winning an Oscar is still a huge deal for them.
He's 53 now, so he won't be able to go back till 63 which is pretty big. Grandpa Will instead of Action Star Will in terms of roles.
-
A black man cancelled.. How can this be? How racist!!!

Movies are made for profits...not for awards. Will Smith is part of the elite so once he and Chris Rock shakes hands publicily , it will be back ti business. He didnt go rape any women or someone...plus he has like 400 million or something...who cares, we still have to go to work tommorrow

No, Nextflix, Amazon Prime, etc.... all want an Oscar, the same way all actors want them. That's why Prime, Netflix, etc.... all put films in theaters, if even for short runs. Their best movies need to meet theatrical run time limits. Also if the foreign press starts to limit or look down on Smith for what happened at the Oscars, it could get worse. Cannes is tougher about these things than the Academy / Oscars.
Why look at Will Smith when Idris Elba, Michael B Jordan, Damon Idris, etc.... are all safer right now.
Will Smith will still work, but this is a major thing.

But what does that say about Chris Rock? He got slapped by Smith. Chris Rock was shook. His smile disappeared, and he misspoke as he was talking. The ‘cuck’ turned the tables and had the upper hand. Will Chris Rock recover?
