Holy shit

just wondering if the grip width could be a factor in a pec tear ( not just the weight ) :)
-
His muscle strength exceeds his connective tissue strength.
As to why that is in his case is up for discussion and scientific analysis.
Using steroids can result in rapid strength gain outpacing connective strength.
-
You can tell it`s just way more weight than he`s capable of pressing.
So many idiots in gyms today that haven`t yet learned to respect the time it takes to move big weight.

strength by steroids? not against juicing but i have heard that the size & increase in strength exceeds the strength of the connective tissues.
pretty logical. I mean i can build a house on a foundation but if i want to build a sky scraper well the maths are a whole other ball game.
Thus ..i was wondering if the width grip might be a factor as to the stress placed on a specific area of the connective tissue.

yup...lowering it you could see it was way too heavy

In his case we don't know.
Could be like Wes said. That's like 500 lbs.
But yes, steroids can give you a big quick strength increase. Normally you increase strength gradually which allows your connective tissues to keep pace.
His grip does not look too wide.

For sure......it`s cool to push yourself but you have to be realistic.
I saw a guy in the gym years ago leg pressing 10 plates per side for reps, then when he was in between sets some idiot newb tried it and got buried.....he had no idea of what it would take to move that kind of weight, just because the other guy made it look easy.
You gotta respect the iron or it can hurt you.

very true i lift in my limitation range, also flexability.

Yep.

Unless you're competing, just stay away from heavy free weight exercises. Not worth it.
Plate loaded machines are a fine alternative.

Does anybody remember that metrosexual bodybuilder that Larry wheels talked into incline like 405 and he blew his chest out I bet Larry told him if he could do it Larry would let him fuck him in the ass

OSF, I remember that.

Just stay weak and leave a rep in reserve, to offset being a weakling take up mixed martial arts :D

Seems a lot of the time it’s the slow decent of the weight that just makes it snap

Even worst sf is after that Larry told him you didn’t get it up so now you don’t get my ass you crippled gimp!

That and these retards have no business trying to put up that weight

I don’t see what he did wrong here. A slow, controlled negative and then explode from the bottom. I believe it’s a Dorian Yates principle that we all should follow

Of course it is a factor. Also flariing out the elbows. Most tears are on flat bench too, which is why many recommend against it.
Everyone should learn to bench with the elbows in, this applies to dumbell pressing as well.

two torn biceps and a torn tricep as proof of its effectiveness

If the OP video is anything like that 495-lb total pec tear injury...I think I'll skip it.
I guess injuries are inevitable at some level.

I think HIT training can work for some muscle groups - but not biceps. Probably not triceps either. I think they need higher reps for growth.
Although I would also argue that the literature seems pretty clear: higher rep ranges are more effective.
And it's literally something as high as 35-50 reps that is the end of the effective muscle building range. That surprised me. The magazines always said 8-12. Jeff Nippard reported 35 or more, in a video. He may have been reporting on a meta-analysis.
Regarding Dorian: didn't he say that part of the reason he tore his biceps was training after the 1994 Mr. Olympia while still being extremely lean and dry? I recall reading that in a magazine.

They key to growth for decades now has been steroids. They work. I agree with IroNat in that many people tear their biceps/triceps, etc. because on steroids the increase in strength is quite often dramatically exponential and their tendons cannot adapt quick enough.
But just about any training when on steroids, especially a shitton of 'em, will result in tremendous muscular strength and size in relatively very little time.

Yeah but Dorian is still alive unlike the guy you follow..forget his name. I certainly don't use weights like in the video but I suppose even a light weight could also injure you.
So really it's the movement itself.
Personally I've always preferred dips to flat bench press.
