Which actors are using or have in the past used steroids? Stallone immediately springs to mind for his Rocky and Rambo roles but are there any actors who are using them out of sheer vanity even although the part doesn't require a muscular physique?

Ed Norton in American History X, is another example. The problem for these guys would obviously to get that big and stay fairly cut.
Bulking up and putting on mass, not the biggest problem IMO.
I somehow doubt that there are as many as some people would make it out to be though.

During the health checkup scene in armageddon, Duncan appeared in posing trunks when told he had high cholesterol. Dude looked big and bloated. I'd guess 70/30 that he used something for that role.

For a movie, these guys take six month and a nutritionist and a trainer, and then they just do what they are told.
They don't work for a living, they dedicate 24 hours a day to training and eating and resting.
Even Edward Norton wasn't THAT big in history X, there's also lighting and make up that provide a lot.

i think its a lot less than we care to think. dont forget these guys have to look a certain way or they dont get cast. if i was a multi millionaire i could afford any guru and trainer to make me look much better in 6 months.

i think that even Stallone only juiced for a few movies, maybe Rambo II/III and Rocky IV.
He still looked really good in his other movies, i think in the specialist and that one with sandra bullock and wesley snipes he was fucking shredded.

the movie with nick cage was kiss of death. he took. stallone for rocky 3 not sure bout others but def rocky 3 took. from his mouth. in the 80's the diet fad was low no fat. his diet was a lot of plain pasta with oil and vineger he took anavar and if i remember correctly winstrol. this came from a close friend who was with stallone one night when he was goin out with briget nielson. my friend is a lifter and was talkin bout how stallone was preppin for 4 and he said the same way he did for three which was no fat diet, anavar & winstrol. far as other actors, many think pitt in troy, and fight club, if that is the case then he did in snatch too. just cause pitts not bbr big doesnt mean he didnt or doesnt juice. people that are thin juice too. all depends on your goals. there are fighters that look like garbage and juice, who knows how many people that don't look it do and that look it that don't juice, probally more than one thinks. back to acting, you gotta understand the business, productions cost a lot of $, time is money so yes sometimes actors have a lot of pre-production time for prep but sometimes they don't and come the day your needed on set you had betyter be ready no matter what because the production does not stop. aside from physical prep for a feature there is the main prep that needs to be done and thats the acting. so that 6 months 24 hours a day to worry about working out is wrong. its very hard to learn and memorize a script let alone a leading role in that time, actors go through a tremendous amount of work. so they do have a lot more to do besides get in shape. 9 times out of 10 if you think an actor juices youprob right. rember its not a life style for them its need for work, a cosmetic means to an end if you will.

no its not, same guy. vin d was def saucin especially when he was bouncin in nyc. saw some of his fist headshot and model photos. in one series he had the leather and biker chaps on, ala village people, and you could def tell just by looking he was on somethin. he had the squiggly veins, striations the whole 9. he made it so that he did the juice early (the start of his career) now all he does is maintenance. new movie he's in his shape is not the feature though.

Take a good look at Brad Pit in the movie Troy. All of a sudden he is trim and ripped. They all take something wether its small or large. Tiny Lidster is a big boy too. Stallone is another one.

i love it how everybody gets slated when they say Brad Pitt or Carrot Top are huge. Listen, the fact is this. Not everyone is a genetic mutant with 20" arms, hell most people have 13-14" arms pumped. Someone with Carrot Tops build looks awesome to a normal guy who is 140-160lbs, i.e. your average joe. So why take the piss?

no its not, same guy. vin d was def saucin especially when he was bouncin in nyc. saw some of his fist headshot and model photos. in one series he had the leather and biker chaps on, ala village people, and you could def tell just by looking he was on somethin. he had the squiggly veins, striations the whole 9. he made it so that he did the juice early (the start of his career) now all he does is maintenance. new movie he's in his shape is not the feature though.

The screen adds weight, it makes everyone look bigger so actors aren't looking to get big. They want definition.
I bet nearly all A list actors hire personal trainer guru's that put them on cycles designed to lean out while gaining muscle. You'll notice none of them get big they get lean and muscular.

Yep, because you have to be blind or just plain stupid to put those pencil neck yuppies in that list. I know the movies which you are regarding to, and that muscularity you can achieve just doing some workout and keeping high protein diet. In fact that is just what happens if you go to gym first time and start training with good personal trainer and right diet. You can easily gain 20 pounds of muscle for one year without any using any gear.
