Title: Adonis and the pussification of men
Post by: the trainer on September 14, 2012, 10:49:15 AM
After reading that adonis thread i am wondering why so many men have become pussies these days, I am an old school guy if you and i have a problem we take off our watches roll up over sleeves and go to the parking lot and settle it like gentlemen, but these getbiggers have become a bunch of sissies, calling the cops trying to sue and complaining about being bullied, i remember as a kid i was being bullied by a bigger kid so i decided to fight him, i did not win the fight but i showed heart and gain the respect of him and the other kids and i was never bothered again, grow some balls and be men you fucking twats.

If it were up to me, I`d bring the Code Duello back (circa 1777), but thats not the kind of society we live in anymore.

Oh, it's wide spread phenomenon!
And these types even call real men names if they show the real male character; fighting, not-giving-a-fuk etc.

Sick world. Keep safe reading "Men's health" on saturday night in your bed guys  Oh brother  ::)

I don`t frequent those types of establishments so you would never have such an opportunity.  Why, are you looking for a fight?  Why wouldn`t you just mind your own business?

I could understand being a mans man back in the 1400's. Those men were brutal, but they had to be.

We currently live in a civilized society. There is no reason to go walking around with a macho, tough guy attitude. We don't live in the 1400's, nor are we cavemen. I am not saying that men have to be weak and scared. However, this macho, tough guy attitude is such bullshit. Protect yourself and your family when needed, but not because you have to live up to a male persona. If the right authorities (police) could take care of a situation, why would I try to invite harm into my life for no good reason? I have logic and reasoning on my side. I don't need to live up to a certain male image.

I do believe in calling the cops first if its possible.  If its not possible, I do think defending yourself with force if necessary is justified.  Especially on one`s own property.  We have what you call Castle Doctrine which enables deadly force to be used to protect your home, any area on your property, your car and even your workplace.  I support it and would not hesitate to use it for a second if it was necessary.

If you dont have street sense and you are used to having the cops solving all your little problems for you, if there comes a time when the cops are not available you will run like a little chicken since you are not used to defending yourself.

this is cyclical...humans adapt to circonstances, not the oposite...some men will become tough again as the world is entering a global recession that will last for decades and see a lot of people die simply because they will be useless to the preservation of the specie.

No, you use your sidearm in those instances if you have to.  A wise person will not start trouble in that case.

Actually, I do have street sense and I have always lived in a big city. I am not saying that cops solve ALL my problems. But I am not going to put my life in harms way either just to live up to a male persona. I will put myself in harms way WHEN needed, but I wont do it just so I could walk around with my lats out, with a macho attitude.

Of course we adapt to our circumstances. But we do not adapt to our circumstances to fill a male tough guy persona. You adapt to survive. And surviving could mean physical and mental attributes. Those that will survive will also probably be more intelligent, and this is independent of walking around with the biggest muscles and the biggest tough guy attitude. I am sure its a combination of mental and physical characteristics that make people adapt best. Not someone like Jay Cutler, especially in the 21st century where intelligence is just as important as physical attributes.

I agree, but sometimes these situations are beyond any one individual`s control and the only thing you can do is hopefully be prepared for it.  Violence does not always visit by invitation.  It can happen anywhere, anytime and at any place.

being smart with no muscles or ammo is as useless as being muscular and carrying tons of ammo but being dumb as rock. Balance is the key to survive and adapt better, instead of being too specialized.

You tough guys going around looking for fights are prime candidates for bullets through your bodies. We live in a different world and if you fail to adapt, you will be killed or put in jail, fair or not.

Like Adonis stated and its the same for me. I dont frequent establishments I know there will be high chance of a negative outcome. Just not worth it.

And all these "what ifs" are bullshit. People dont just randomly insult you or your girl unless you hang out where scum does. Then what does that say about you?

If i see a fight break out, I cross the street. IF I suspect danger 2 blocks ahead, I go a different route.

I guess people can call me a pussy if they wish. It just seems like the most logical thing to do.

Haha! Not enough guys in this thread have been in enough fights.

Want to see how far your fists get you? Go bounce at a strip club frequented by bikers. Then wait for a rival gang to show up with their colors on. Then see how far fighting gets you, or how macho you want to be. I did it, and I can tell you, the guys on the staff who fought were the guys who got fucked up real quick. Guys who spoke well and talked themselves out of trouble lived, earned respect, and made money.

A real man is smart enough to not get himself into a position where he needs to fight, he looks for easy quick ways out of a physical fight so he doesn't get hurt/killed.

You idiots fail to realize: you're the direct descendants of men who knew how to avoid fighting so they didn't lose a leg/arm/life before they were able to reproduce. They were smart. Why insist on being stupid?

Don't fight. Only an idiot lives up to a perceived macho persona. Guys like that get drilled in real life by tougher guys, and usually end up dead, in jail, or at least hurt real bad.

Wanna know what happens to smart guys who don't fight? They make more money, stay out of prison, don't invite retributive justice on themselves and their families from those they hurt in previous fights...

You guys act like it's one punch, done, and everyone shakes hands and goes to have a beer.

Tell that to my friend Howard Gairy. He was bouncing at a bar back home. Got into with this asian kid who wouldn't go thru the metal detector. Howard got up in his face a bit and shoved the kid. The kid took off embarassed. Rerturned, and shot Howard in the stomach. Howard waited on the sidewalk and bled to death waiting for 25 minutes for an ambulance to show up.

Howard could have called the cops. Could have talked to this asian kid instead of getting tough with him. But he didn't. He chose the macho route. Now he's dead.

Yikes, he was a Michigan Tech Husky alum just like me.

RIP

After reading that adonis thread i am wondering why so many men have become pussies these days, I am an old school guy if you and i have a problem we take off our watches roll up over sleeves and go to the parking lot and settle it like gentlemen, but these getbiggers have become a bunch of sissies, calling the cops trying to sue and complaining about being bullied, i remember as a kid i was being bullied by a bigger kid so i decided to fight him, i did not win the fight but i showed heart and gain the respect of him and the other kids and i was never bothered again, grow some balls and be men you fucking twats.

Adonis is the typical american: "Touch me and I'll sue you!" .. bitch  ;D

Yep. I mixed up my story though...he was talking to the asian kid, who went back and got his other buddy (not asian - black) who did the shooting. The black kid got second degree murder.

There's a wrestling tournament in Howard's honor every year. He was a great guy, very good football player, but even better wrestler.

I do believe its fair to use a firearm after you are assaulted.

So you would pull out your gun if someone pushed you in a bar or by accident on a street corner? Why would you immediately jump to using deadly force,

nothing teaches respect more than a beatdown. that person would not talk shit anymore.
Maybe? In an ideal world, the guy would accept his beatdown if both sides greed to settle it that way.
I used to be a bouncer/doorman at a large rock and roll club in the mid 80's.
I'm no super bad ass , but can hold my own against the avg slob.

The world is full of crazy maniacs who will use a gun whenever they feel the need.
I'm NOT talking about self defense here , more like gangster/thug intimidation.
Despite what some "men of macho honor" might prefer, bar fights have no real rules or regulations.
If the cops get involved after a brawl, you can bet someone is going off in cuffs and law suits may be filed.

FYI, when I was an active duty marine , I got n a fight over a girl ( of course).
I psuhed him off his bar stool and he hit me with a beer pitcher. That slowed me down but I managed to tackle him and get in
a couple shots before they broke it up. Being white marine in the south ( 30 yrs ago) against a black civillian who used a "weopon " ( beer pitcher),
the desk sgt asked me to press charges for assault with a weopon. I did that to go home  to avoid more trouble with my unit commander.
At the hearing, I  dropped the charges and simply told the judge it was a silly fight over a girl and we both got a few licks in, but nothing serious.
The judge was all too happy to dismiss the case and move fwd.
The black guy I fought was in shock and came over to thank me . I told him, we both got in our licks and nobody got injured.
I shook his hand and wished him well. That was it.

This was 30 yrs ago and actually required if you were in a security post and had to guard something.
Ok, the card was an actual lamenated card with the 10 basic rules and examples of when you could use deadly force while on duty.
It is NOT a 007 type license to kill, more like a reminder of the guidelines and regulations you had to follow.
I even fired or drew my weopon during my enture yr of MSG duty. I did get quite bored gaurding the left rear entrance of the US embassy in Japan however. Nothing ever happened, but, I got to open the door for a few big wigs when they had a meeting.

We currently live in a civilized society. There is no reason to go walking around with a macho, tough guy attitude. We don't live in the 1400's, nor are we cavemen. I am not saying that men have to be weak and scared. However, this macho, tough guy attitude is such bullshit.

We've got the same physical and cognitive equipment as those cavemen, and have had it for 100,000 years or so. If you took a child from that time period and raised it here, it would be no different than any of us, and vice versa if one of us was raised back then. So, I think it's somewhat misleading to claim we are all that different from cavemen. We happen to have formed cultural and institutional structures that make us behave more 'civilized,' but we still have the same underlying nature.

You idiots fail to realize: you're the direct descendants of men who knew how to avoid fighting so they didn't lose a leg/arm/life before they were able to reproduce. They were smart. Why insist on being stupid?

I don't think so. As I've just said, we are the same creatures as those violent beings we call 'cave men' and other such derogatory terms. If anything, history indicates that extreme violence has been the primary means for usurping control and dominating. Now, maybe that's changed and it is now most logical to cooperate and navigate society tactfully in order to dominate -- in fact, it almost certainly is. But that doesn't change the historical fact that violence has been an extremely effective tool.

Protect yourself and your family when needed, but not because you have to live up to a male persona. If the right authorities (police) could take care of a situation, why would I try to invite harm into my life for no good reason? I have logic and reasoning on my side. I don't need to live up to a certain male image.

lethal force by gun would be unecessary and non existant in a land that didnt allow any guns whatsoever

there would be less criminals, criminals are pussys and need guns criminals wont fight and the max they could carry is a knife wich you could still defend some and or get away but you cant outrun a bullet

people are always wanting to keep guns legalized because they are pussies from hell always scared of everything, it would be a less scary world if there werent any guns around?

That may be inaccurate regarding the same cognitive development as cavemen. Modern man may have developed a more sophisticated prefrontal cortex over time, which is the area of reasoning and logic.

If by 'cavemen' you mean something like Neanderthal, then there may well be substantive differences in cognitive equipment between them and us. But if you mean cavemen, i.e., early humans, then there can't be much difference, because by definition we've got the same genes as them (being the same species and all), and genes determine traits. Additionally, 100k years is a blink of an eye in evolutionary terms and, given that it tends to work very gradually, there are almost certainly no significant differences between us and the earliest humans.

Also, in my original post I said cognitive "equipment," not cognitive "development." Perhaps we've reached a higher level of cognitive development due to non-evolutionary factors like better nutrition and higher living standards, but it's still true that this is being eked out of the very same "equipment," or mental machinery, that the cavemen had.

So really, we're cavemen who are squeezing a bit more performance out of our brains than our old friends were able to, not fundamentally different beings than they.

Welllll, epigenetics, and more particularly the role of diet on epigenetic influences on evolution and germ line changes, almost certainly plays a role that is almost as important as genetics itself.  It definitely can't be glossed over, but given the fact that it's impossible to quantify the effects of differential methylation and higher order chromatin changes on brain functions of 75,000 year old skeletons, it's a bit of a black hole left open to conjecture.

Welllll, epigenetics, and more particularly the role of diet on epigenetic influences on evolution and germ line changes, almost certainly plays a role that is almost as important as genetics itself.

As far as I'm aware, there is zero evidence that epigenetic influence survives across even a few generations of humans, let alone across evolutionary time (in any organism).* So on the face of it, positing genes as the causal variable responsible for mental mechanisms is the only sensible thing to do.

Once upon a time, there was an embryo named nefario. The reason the embryo developed into a human being capable of posting on getbig and not into a worm -- or a human being with the intelligence of a worm, ala Coach -- is certainly not due to environmental influence (nutrition, etc.). It is because of genes -- finite chunks of DNA that epigenitic processes can't change.

Given the ubiquity of human mental mechanisms, they have almost certainly been selected for. And it is genes that produce traits that are selected for and that are thus co-extensive with them. Given that we have the same genes as the cavemen, it follows we ought to have the same mental mechanisms. We may be wringing more computational work out of them now due to environmental factors, but they are still the same mechanisms.

*If you can PM me links to papers indicating otherwise I'd be happy to be wrong.

Perfect post from a metrosexual and perfect example of male pussification.

The trainer is right and making excellent points.

Question: If your ass was getting beatdown, would you want someone to pull the person off of you then call the cops or call the cops then try and pull the person off of you?

you wouldnt need guns if guns were illegal (and there were no guns but of course a seldom few illegal guns would be circulating )

Bullshit. A tiny minority MAY become violent. The vast, vast majority would say "yes massa!" and give up their guns. There would be massive amounts of outraged bloggers, but people willing to take on armed forces just to stand up for what is [edit: in their eyes] right? Maybe 10,000. The rest will grumble, bitch, and then slink back to the TV with a bag of fast food under their flabby arms.

its entirely possible. taking a hardline position in favor of it doesnt seem very wise to me. what defines "arms"? why even assume it means firearms? of course i think the authors did intend for it to protect the right to own a gun, but to what extent does that apply ?  does it refer only to the kinds of firearms that were available when the constitution was authored ? or does it allow for advances in firearm technologu to also be under protection ?  since the authors intended the 2nd amendment to protect the ability of the citizenry to revolt against the government in case it became tyrannical, shouldnt it cover the right to own any kind of weaponry that the government possesses? Fully automatic M-16's ? hand held rocket launchers? jets equipped with heat seeking missiles ?  Nuclear and biological weapons ??   If the 2nd amendment protects ones right to bear arms , doesnt it also protect the right to own those types of weaponry as well? how could one possibly hope to rebel against a tyrannical government without them?

It is the Supreme Court that interprets the Constitution.  Read some case law to cure your curiosity.

the supreme courts interpretation of the constitution is the one that becomes law, sure. but as an individual making up their mind about policy issues we all have an obligation to think through these issues on our own. and of course, and supreme court decision can always be overturned via vote of the people to secure a constitutional amendment.  i wasnt asking those questions because im curious about them personally. i was asking them to display the complicated issue that stands behind such a "right to bear arms". adonis posted a video os jesse ventura, and his main argument goes right back to that point about the right to bear arms to ensure the people can rebel against tyranny. but the people have absolutely no ability to rebel against tyranny if the right to bear arms is limited to guns and rifles when the government has jets and drones and bombs and missiles and biological and nuclear weapons.

The Supreme Court has answered some of the questions you asked.  Thus, they have made the "issue that stands behind such a 'right to bear arms,'" less complicated of an issue.

I read it and understood it.  I found it laughable that you believe that "every individual" has the ability to understand the 2nd Amendment as it is written...better than the most elite legal minds in the world.

Accordingly, I focused on the questions you have asked.  Many of those questions have already been interpreted by the Supreme Court.

ah, so we best just shut our mouths and let the supreme court make up our minds for us. and what they decide, well thats infallible !

 ;D

the point is that if someone is going to say "I believe in the 2nd amendment!!!"  then they should be able to talk about the issue in a manner that addresses all of the possible interpretations and implications of that amendment and make a logical argument as to why they believe the amendment protects ownership of one kind of weapon and not another (assuming they do believe that certain kind sof weapons ought to be illegal to possess

Again, refer to the Supreme Court.  YOU... nor anybody else... can come up with credible "possible interpretations" of the 2nd Amendment without reading Supreme Court decisions/Federalist Papers/any documents written by our Founding Fathers that discussed the 2nd Amendment.

2nd amendment has been already butchered as it is. As a private citizen you should be legally able to own figher jets and tanks assuming that you can afford it. Everyone but weapons of mass destruction, whether they are chemical, nuclear or biological.
