The two players don't even compare to one another. They play entirely different positions. Shaq is 7'1" and weighs 335 pounds. Zion will need to drop some weight once he's in the NBA. He might still grow another inch or two but I don't see him carrying 285 pounds in the NBA at 6'7". He would be an oversized small forward and an undersized power forward. He'll get his personal chef game going soon enough.
oliver miller was 6 ft 9 and weighed 380 and he played quite a few years in the nba.  c. barkley was 6 ft 5 and was 300 in college but played around 250 in the pros. the kid might be able to pull it off.

I'm a white midget.  Basketball players all look the same :-X

Seriously though, so he's a forward?  How tall and what weight was Pippen?  I don't see where that kid has more than 15lbs max of fat to lose without being too lean that he'd have shit for energy.  His vein in is arm is showing so I'd peg him at 12-14%.  At 14% that's 39.9 lbs of fat he's currently carrying.

Pippen was 6'7" and weighed around 215-220 lbs. Once Zion makes the pros, he will have a personal chef, trainer, etc. so I bet he drops his playing weight to around 265-270, depending on how much taller he grows. He's not even 19 years old and some people have been known to grow a couple more inches after high school.

So if he stays at forward say at 270, because he likely will grow still and like I said he's only carrying about 40lbs of fat total right now....how would he be comparable to from the Jordan days?  I really haven't watched much basketball at all since he retired.  I watched a couple of finals games the year whatever team durant is on played against the cavs, and these guys are just huge now.  Durant doesn't even really shoot the ball so much as he just throws it to the hoop.  There seemed like no arc....no touch to the ball....just extend arms and line drive it to the hole.  Where's the talent in that?

In Funk's first post about this guy it said he's projected no 1 in the draft....this year?  If he's that good why did he even bother going to college....why not straight to the pros like lebron and kobbie?

You have to play for a year now or be 19.

Durant is a super talented scorer. It's talent to be around 7 foot and be able to dribble like that and shoot off the dribble like he does, etc.

I personally think that Zion is going to be a bit of a disappointment. Haven't seen quite enough of him to say for sure but his shooting form is not that good. He would have to improve on it in order for him to catch the hype. I think he will definitely be good but not seeing the full awesomeness unless he can develop that part more. He plays very, very hard so he has that on his side as well.

Guy from Murray State might be better. Ja Morant.

Maybe Dominique? Zion is super aggressive around the basket.
