Decent guys don't have stories of GYM OWNINGS. We remember when we were at their level, instead, I like to help new people out. The guys that tell stories of gym ownings never last long in the gym to begin with. They OWN someone by using shitty form and then think they are all that. The guy that posted this thread would get his ass owned every day in my gym and I'd love to be the first one to OWN his puny ass.

So true. My story was true but if I walked around saying shit like that every day I would get booted for sure. I never really talk to people unless they ask me questions or for a spot. I'd love to help people out but never want to come off like a know-it-all. Constant gym ownings or the lies about them show insecurity IMO. The only time to OWN someone is when they act like an asshole. You put them in their place and move on.

I doubt he curls 40's without swinging them.

ownings never really happen. i've been in gyms all over the place, a few in fairly big cities, and i've never seen an owning. the closest was some older powerlifter-type guy putting a kid in his place for curling in the squat rack and refusing to move out. even that was just about the kid being courteous, nothing like these bullshit "haha i'm strong and you're weak i owned you" stories.
