And if they are then these people working in restaurants and bars are also at risk...
Maybe so, maybe not.  The point is, there are no true studies to support this.  It's all speculative.  So, passing a law on studies, which have been thrown out, goes against what this country is about, "freedom".

Stop working in a bar and get a job at Dennys. It should be up to the bar owner, the state shouldn't ban it.

Pretty much my point.  It's not a health issue, it's a political issue, nothing more.  One day, someone got tired of smelling smoke, so to justify banning it from places, they found a few horseshit studies to support the ban.
Whether you smoke or hate it, it goes against the freedom of being a US citizen.  If you can't have a smoking section in a restaurant, that is garbage.  The problems with most smokers is they will tolerate getting the shank and continue going to places that don't allow smoking.  People go to bars, then go outside to smoke like a 2nd class citizen.
I can't wait for the day they try to ban it from casinos...ahah.  That would never happen because there is too much money to be lost.  This is why the anti 2nd hand smoke pussies didn't try to get this passed in Nevada.  If it was really about peoples safety, why not ban it in casinos now?  It's banned in supermarkets, huge shopping centers.

It will be banned in casinos...Just a matter of time...But they will be the last to go...Its all about money...If all the smokers got together and lobbied for their cause with lots of money for the guys elected to office. Then they could buy some time.  These states that banned it didn't want to take the risk anymore...They know what is coming...To many non smokers getting cancer after working in restraurants for years..But you are right how do you prove an illness that can be caused by many different things?...It will never be a 100% science but you have to use common sense...

thats a cop out...So one should have to put themselves at risk to do the job of serving food or drink? Why should a bar owner have the right to put his employess at risk? Its not like these employess of out in the Barrien Sea going after King Crab...

or are you saying that servers should get hazzardes duty pay?

look we live in a country where our government wants us to die Period...If you don't believe that, you've been living in a fcking hole...Do you really believe that the government wants to ban public fcking smoking? Of course they don't. They want the sheep to get ill...Its why they helped big tobacco all these years hide that fact that hundreds of thousands have died from their product...Guess what they can't do that anyone...And they know it...

The government does NOT want us to die. They want us to go into debt.  ;D

All your blustering does not change the fact that it's an infringement on personal rights.

Take away the politically biased "science" and disseminate the facts, but don't take away rights. The owners of the bars should decide how they want to run their establishments. Alcohol is much worse, but it's someone's right nonetheless.

Next thing the sensationalist ex-smoker anti-smoking fanatics are going to do is classify bars as hazard zones lol.

If you believe that bunch of horseshit, I pray for you.  What a bland uncontrolled study.  You need to pick up on things like:
A British study found that SIDS deaths could be reduced by two-thirds if parents did not smoke.***
Could be reduce...not are reduced.
A U.S. analysis** of over 100 reports on pædiatric diseases concluded that children’s exposure to tobacco smoke is responsible for up to:
Repsonsible for up to, not responsible for.  Hell, it could be responsible for all of them, or maybe none.
ETS is causally linked with a number of adverse health effects in children (under 18), including:
Causally linked, meaning not directly, but a possible link.

You've never written a research paper have you?

Where are these people who have died directly from 2nd hand smoke?  If a person dies of some kind of cancer and they happened to be a waitress, they would consider that a 2nd hand smoke death, which is speculative, but they use it as a "fact".  That is the problem with the entire thing.  It is like Lyle Alzado dying of brain cancer, they blamed it on steroids..haha  Same type of thing.  The government shouldn't have the power to pass law without true evidence that something is harmful to others.  Plain and simple.  In reality, they should ban alcohol and cigarettes.  Alcohol causes more problems than smoking every will.  Drunk driving, bar fights, sexual assault, etc.  If the government really gave a shit, they'd ban these in a second.  Instead, they banned ephedrine.  Classic!  But I believe that ban was overturned due to facts later found.  When something is in the minority, it's easy for it to get banned.  If smokers got smart, they would form an alliance and all vote democrat or republican.  You'd see politicians all of a sudden in favor for smoking to be put back into restaurants. ::)
