BTW, "real weight" as I define it is a load that is heavy enough to tax the muscle given the amount of time that I rest between sets. If I rested another min then I could use more weight, but this is not always the deciding factor in muscle growth.
Tension is important though or we wouldn't have to go to a gym at all. We'd buy some rubber bands and grow like crazy. Tension is not everything but it's important.
You start with the heaviest weight you'll use on that exercise first disgusted, so in conventional terms 'pyramid down' ?
Finally some interesting and informative stuff here!! Thanks guys. To get lean without cardio how does this sound.height 185cm. Weight 250lb: Muscle weight. 210lb.4 x 1hour of weights per week. Pro: 330g, carbs, 150g, fats 50g. 50 carbs less on non training days.
Good question. I have done it both ways. I really don't see much need to start heavy. Once I am at about my third set of my first exercise my pump is starting to kick in regardless. I sometimes stay with the same weight or go up in weight as the sets progress, but usually I can only increase the weight for a couple sets or two because fatigue sets in quick. Now, once I get to the second exercise I usually stay with the same weight. With all that I have just said remember that I go by feel. Speed of reps, the way you contract your muscle ect all determine how heavy the weight will feel. You can never duplicate these things exactly each workout. Don't get so caught up on weight, just concentrate on getting the most extreme muscle destroying pump you can get. Obviously the weight has to be heavy enough (the key word enough) once you go past that you actually are taking the tension off the muscle by using other factors such as cheating the weight to make it easier or forcing it up and risk rupturing a tendon which is all too common today.
You could go buy rubber bands and grow like crazy if you knew what you were doing.
I will also give you a tip. Your Macro`s do not matter at all. Don`t waste your time with that high of protein.
That is a good amount of calories and you will get lean with ZERO cardio.I will also give you a tip. Your Macro`s do not matter at all. Don`t waste your time with that high of protein.
why does the protein not matter? Would it matter for Jay Cutler?
Here you and Disgusted do not agree at all.
Hope this helps!
LOL, took my a while to find my HOPE THIS HELPS pic! So there.
I don`t think Disgusted advocates HIGH protein so to speak.I could be wrong.Lets ask him......Disgusted?
what boggles my mind.... is that i watch bodybuilding DVD's Jay cutler, Ronnie Coleman, Etc, the best in the world. THOSE GUYS worry about protein intake, cardio, carbs, , so thiis is where im lost
One looks untrained, one looks trained.
Yeah, that's all there is to it LOL. The guy on the left could take all the steroids in the world and train for ten years and he'd be lucky to put on an inch on his calves. The muscle is short, and the fibers simply aren't there. They are approximately the same length, as everyone sees.
1.5 gr/pd is plenty and it can be done with less.
