DaddyWaddy. The bodybuilding/weightlifting gods blessed me yesterday and I did 112 reps total with 225 on the deadlift.  Breathing like a locomotive for sure.

Not to steer this thread totally off topic, but how did you possibly pull off doing 112 reps with 225 lbs in the deadlift?

Hard Work.  Deadlift has always come easily for me.

Next time I do it I will videotape it.  The trick is, NEVER put the bar down...If you have to stand there and catch your breath for a few seconds, do so with the bar in hand.

If Adonis did in fact do 112 reps with 225 on the deadlift, it must have taken him a while. The lower back muscles aren't exactly the strongest or the quickest to recover. That lift is doubtful.

man, there was a quote somewhere, maybe the MD forums or on the "verify your lifts thread" where TA said how long the 225lbs for 112 reps took and I think once I figured it out he was doing a rep every 2 seconds for the entire set, that seems pretty rough to me but I've never done 112 reps on anything so what do I know?

he was definitely using straps, he doesn't have enough grip to hold onto 500 pounds for a single, let alone 225 for a marathon. a rep every two seconds is a pretty good pace actually. that's still 4 minutes of nonstop up and down deadlifting.

tell ya what, adam. we'll do my three power lifts, and then the 100 pound DB flys for reps and the 225 deadlift for reps. that should be fair, since from what you've said you're a lot better at both of those than i am, so at least it's a little more in your favor.

The Dumbells in my Gym only go up to 100 and I can easily do those on the Flyes.

Yeah, but I pointed out to him that going too far down is dangerous and takes all the tension off the pectorals and onto the tendons.  Also arms straight puts too much strain on the elbows.

As you can guess, he never replied.
