I knew the promoter and he asked me to help out, so I obliged.

He needed someone to help in the guys room backstage. There I was, applying tan to men I'd never met and men that were 99% naked.

The overwhelming sense of how gay bodybuildng was dawned on me. I left the show early and stayed away from the gym for a month.

I felt all the pennies drop when Beefyheavyweight first appeared and began posting his stories. I had perhaps a two year phase when I first started training where I used to buy Musclemag. I went to three local shows - the first when I first started, the second to support a friend and the third for work. Third time I began wondering why there were so many untrained looking gay guys in official roles but I was too busy to think much beyond that.

Around 2009 I couldn't sleep, logged on and started reading a Beefyheavyweight thread and thought "Oh shit, how did I never recognise this before?", hahaha.
