Why are posing trunks getting smaller and smaller?  Who is advocating or encouraging this?  What do fans and judges want to see in this first pic that they can’t see in the second pic?

We need to go back to the days of Bill Pearl in terms of posing trunks.  If you are in shape people can see that.  Smaller trunks are not going to help.  Why do so many of today’s competitors choose smaller trunks.  I do not want to see body builders in thongs on stage.

Finally, someone get it.  Just because I am gay doesn't mean I want to see thongs on a contest stage.  If a bodybuilder wants to show off his shredded glutes... come on back to my boudoir.  

If you want to compete in a competition have a little class and go back to the old school posing trunks.

When I ordered mine I told the lady that I wasn't tryin to show anyone my ass! she said that she would make them cover as much as she could while still being competitive! Whatever the hell that means! But she did alright!

Maybe some hardcore schmoe can answer this, but exactly what year did this become a cool thing to do?  I don't remember it in the 1970s or 1980s.  Was in the late 1990s or the early 2000s?  I know it has become a running joke here but is anyone really winning contests by showing shredded glutes?  Why can't we go back to trunks instead of thongs?

I know that for most guys, the last bit of fat to come off is the glutes. So I think it's gotten to the point where it actually does make a difference! But I'm more in favor of pulling your trunks up to expose this for certain poses than to walk on stage with a piece of silk rammed up my ass! And I don't wanna worry about my nuts popping out the side either! Lol... I will always be a fan of the old school trunks!

go back to the 70's. everybody wore full briefs. something you could wear to the beach. you still could tell who had the striated glutes.
Bill Grant and Tom Platz come to mind.  you don't need a thong to tell if the glutes are striated.
