This is all I was trying to get across..powerlifting is a bunch of fat out of shape slobs (sorry garraeth) competing in 3 basic compound lifts (and with the size of benchshirts lately I wouldn't even call that a lift) the lifts are stationary, there is no movement involved OTHER THEN THE ACTUAL LIFT ITSELF.. it's like comparing a freeweight dumbell press to a smith machine press.. there might be a reason why almost anyone can bench 3 plates a side on smith machine but can barely do the 100's with dumbells.
The SHWs of powerlifting are often fat slobs, except for a few guys. I will agree with you there. Exceptions being guys like Brian Siders, Kirk Karwoski and Kazmaier.
As the garments develops, the fatsos gets even better. The reason is because the fat gives the lifter a tremendous pressure and bounce, specifically in the squat and the benchpress. Being obese isn't of any advantage in the deadlift.
That's why you'll find the fattest lifters as benchpress specialists. Guys like Gene Rychlak, Clay Brandenburg, Mike Wolfe (in the past).
These guys wouldn't been in the money before the arrival of the benchpress shirts.
Also, if Gene Rychlak would diet down to healthy levels of bodyfat, I doubt that he would raw bench 400 lbs. Consider then that there are claims that he has a raw bench of 650+ lbs, although I don't believe that.
As far as strongman events, Savickas and a few others are better than Pudzi. That's the way it is.
They are not stationary fat slobs. But they will lose to Pudzi every time as long as there are bullshit events like Atlas Stones with the heaviest stone only being 360-380 lbs.
Pudzi has a shot at hanging with these guys as long as it is high reps. Like when the Apollons Axle isn't decided on max weight, but rather on how many reps in 90 seconds.
Look at the Hummer Deadlift. Savickas owned everyone. Even the best deadlifter in the world, Benni Magnusson. Pudzi wasn't even close.
