I highly doubt it. Most just do the simple/cheap drug screen. The only way they'd test for gear was if there was suspicion of steroid use.

Department of Corrections to
Expand Employee Drug Testing Program
Tallahassee - Secretary James McDonough and his senior leadership team are taking the first drug tests under the Department’s expanded drug testing program, to be announced during a press conference Tuesday.

The Department will begin random drug testing for all certified officers, senior management and other employees. The ground-breaking program, which includes steroid testing, takes a comprehensive approach to ensuring a drug-free workplace.

Invited participants and representatives include: Bill Janes, Director of the Florida Office of Drug Control; Jim Baiardi, Vice President of the Florida Police Benevolent Association; Barbara Lumpkin, R.N., Associate Executive Director of the Florida Nurses Association, as well as representatives from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

A demonstration of the Department’s Drug Detection Canine Units will also take place.

What:  Employee Drug Testing Expansion Press Conference
When:  Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 11:30 a.m.
Where:  Florida Department of Corrections Central Office
2601 Blair Stone Road
Tallahassee, FL
Contact: Robby Cunningham
850/488-0420

The testing will cost the agency about $200,000 a year and will begin May 30, McDonough said. Besides steroids, the tests will screen for marijuana, cocaine, opiates and methamphetamine, among other drugs.

Maybe, maybe not. I know a lot of police officers, firefighters, & corrections officers juice. I would guess their union(s) may step in to try & block the laws &/or limit testing.

It would help them in many ways if they were required to juice. the only cops i see are fat out of shape donut munchers who couldn't run more than 100 feet before having a heart attack. protect and serve? yeah right, write some more tickets for rolling through stop signs instead of saving our children from rapist and thugs with a drug problem.

Our military should also start pumping 500mg of test into our soldiers...some divisions already do.
