Now I can go to failure anytime.

With 405 on your back, I'm sure that's more often than your average gym rat going to failure... ;D

I do not advise it. I took my husband to the gym a few times [he was not into training] and he drove me up the wall.

there is only one place you should work out your girl and its called the bedroom,,there are only 5 exercises that should be performed: spooning,,riding,,dogging,,missionary lay out,,and reverse cow girls lifts,,

thats about it

if you  decide to take her to the gym make sure you dont train that night or do some shrugs with 100lb dumbells inbetween her mumblings and bubblings

most girls do not go regularly to the gym,,they start stop then go when they feel like to do threadmil,,
fitness girls or girl gym rats usually do not need you or your  training advice they are as "sick" as you ;)

yes and I don't recommmend it either.

guys should work out with guys and girls can work out with girls.

it's ridiculous for a guy to think that he's getting a really good training session in going back and forth with a girl partner.

plus when you happen to notice eye candy kn the gym the S.O. doesn't appreciate it too much

I workout at 6:30 a.m., non-negotiable, or so I told her. It turned into fkn 7:30 after two days, lazy bitch.

same happened to me or rather my training partner.  we used to start at 6:30am, then his wife complained, i agreed to switch to 7:00, two weeks later it was 7:30, finally i let it go and i work out by myself

I'm a stay at home dad who also runs a successful web design company.  I think most people here who are parents would stay home with their new babies in a minute if circumstances allowed it.

my fiance competes, id put money that she could outwork most average dudes in the gym. she knows shes doing....and is there to train. shes a good work out partner. as a matter of fact, it was funny to watch the reaction of a few guys faces on friday when she got 185 on flat bench for a single!!!  the dudes on the bench next to her were working out with 115  :)  she does 20 dead-hang pullups....most guys at the gym cant even do that...

shes a far better workout partner than most ive trained with...

as far as a girl who is not that serious...or doesnt know what shes doing...hell no. id rather hire one of those 155lb trainer clowns to show her the ropes...and teach her how to turn on the cardio machines...

and no goatboy, i dont mean a towel boy you wanna suck

has anyone here worked out with their gf/bf/wife/hubby and do you suggest it?

I have done it in the past many times. She does her thing and I do mine with no interference and interuption. Its no different then training alone. Mind you, she must know how to train and she must be independant enough to train on her own in there without busting your balls.

Mike and I train together almost every day and have done so for almost 2 years.  I guess it depends on how much you both enjoy training.  Some girls aren't as into it as the guy (or vice versa) so they probably wouldn't have the same work out drive, or wouldn't push each other as well.

The proper training intensity for above average results would not be acheived training with sweety pie, im sure there are a few exceptions.. It's a goofy idea forget it.

Avoid it (training w/woman/spouse/gf) like the plague.

It's like living with someone your fucking, and working with them at the same time. No good.

Here's another gals 2-cents  :)

It all depends on the relationship and the goals... years ago i could NOT work out with my husband. Whomever said woman are sensitive is correct for the most part! I could push my clients and friends and my girlfriends could push me, but with Brian (he's 250 at 5'9") I was a sissy (5'2" and only 105 at the time) and thought he was being "mean"- I would cry if he even tried to push me. I didn't realize that in order to make gains, especially as a natural female- I had to train like a man!

Over the past 8 years, I've trained my butt off and changed my attitude completely. We respect each others background and goals and work well together- We still don't train together regularly, but it's great having him there and now I actually LOVE when he pushes me! If I miss a day or find myself slacking off, I will ask him to meet me there- I won't be a wimp anymore- in fact, sometimes, I'm the one pushing him! :P
